This is a cute little coffee shop in a town that’s only a block long. Although it is pretty hectic inside, the place has some good selections. It’s not the best coffee shop I’ve been to, but it’s definitely far from the worst. I really like the blended ice cream here. They have a machine that requires all of your strength to mix the ice cream with various items that they have. The ice cream is actually quite nice. It’s all a little disorganized, but that’s just part of the fun!

I roast my beans and obsess over every aspect of my espresso. So when I get a latte on the road my expectations are not very high. Imagine my surprise when DeAnn served up two creamy shots into a perfectly steamed 20 Oz cup of half&half. The espresso revealed a broad range of flavors from black tea to apricot jam. Clearly she’s bothering to source craft roasted beans and using them inside their shelf date. She’s got a top of the line volumetric espresso machine and it’s tuned perfectly. Blue Canoe in Anchor Bay is definitely worth the stop.

The Blue Canoe is a welcome respite on the Pacific Highway. Owner Deanne is friendly and the place is warm, welcoming, eclectic and serves up great noms. I’ve enjoyed the hot chocolate, coffee and other goodies. and her hand dipped ice cream cones on hot days. There’s a garden in the back, musicians jam from time to time and she also has art by local artists on display. Everything about Blue Canoe Coffee and Tea is cozy and relaxed. There’s even a nice shady place outside the door with water bowl for your pup to chill too! Me and my dogs give it paws up!

Had the ice cream with blackberries. The ice cream was whipped in an airy type fashion which made it an interesting texture that was fun to eat.

This place is super cute, makes a great caramel mocha, and the lady is really nice. Great place to get a morning pick-me-up or to hang out and read a paper. She has a lot of snacks available, and the iced tea was really good. I usually stop here when I’m in the area, and always will!

Great low key spot, owner Deanne runs it more for pleasure than for profit, good food and drink for cheap! Ordered a cone with mango fruit mixed in(they did it on the spot), thought it would be at least $ 3.50 or more, like everywhere else, it was $ 2.50! And delicious! They also are hosting our Saturday music jam from 12−3pm(since Jack’s Gualala Pharmacy has closed). I may even get to put an instrument or two on her walls, along with the other cool artwork(maybe it’ll become«The Blue Canoe & Music too»?)

We stopped here on a touring vacation down the coast line. There is definitely something special about this place. I had a basic iced coffee with sugar free vanilla syrup and cream. It was amazing! They must serve a great brand of coffee. I also had a Chai Tea Scone. The owner said it was her own recipe. I could definitely taste the love in her baking. This is a must try if you are passing by.

I understand this place is in the middle of nowhere and pretty much the only coffee place in town, but let’s be real here. I really can not see how this place has received 5-stars, and consistently. The coffee tastes like Folgers. The staff were a little rude when we were in. I know it is supposed to be a «small town» atmosphere, but when the lady making coffee is chatting with her friend about local happenings and completely ignoring customers for roughly five minutes, that’s just poor business. Go here for — desperation coffee run Not for — quality service or quality coffee

As far as coffee and pastries go, ITDOESNOTGETANYBETTERTHATTHIS: D !!! The owner is a master at her craft. Everything from basic coffee to eggnog chai is absolutely perfect. Same with the food — everything from pastries(chocolate cream cheese muffin in my favorite) to the lox bagel(which I am very picky about) are amazing. And to top it all off, the owner was sweet, social, and genuine. I cannot ask for anything more: D !

Stopped in today on our way back down to SFO. After a warm welcome, we decided on the Spicy Canoe Latte and the Pumpkin Spice Latte, both with soy milk. We also got an everything bagel with cream cheese and a cheese(pizza?) bagel with Lox and the works. The bagels were great and the Lox was really good. The lattes were excellent at first, but after about 30 minutes, it seemed as though the soy had coagulated the rest of the coffee and turned it all to a yogurt-like consistency; practically undrinkable. Other than that, the service and food were great!

The Blue Canoe is a welcoming, friendly spot to have a cappuccino and a bagel or a custom blended ice cream cone. I ordered a raspberry ice cream cone and the owner, Deanne, scooped up fresh raspberries and blended them with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious. Lots of goodies for morning or afternoon noshing. Exotic teas, lattes, a back garden and a friendly smile from the owner are also highlights of this oasis in Anchor Bay.

Mocha was pretty good, not my fave in the area, but it was good. Muffins are yummy & fresh! I like that they have books & it’s a nice place to sit & relax for a few. Great location & really nice lady running the place. A bit expensive($ 5 for a mocha, and would have liked a dime off for bringing my own cup.)

Nice little shop on the coastal route where the owner is incredibly nice and the staff is just as awesome. The drinks are well worth the price, you’re not paying for the«coastal price hike» you’re actually paying for a well-made, hand-crafted drink. It’s a cozy spot during this time of year. It’s out in a small town on highway 1 surrounded by beautiful scenery and friendly locals, you can enjoy an excellent drink here while you enjoy the atmosphere. The perfect place to get away from it all :) Not only is it surrounded by wonderful scenery on the outside but the interior is very clean and elegant. The tiles are a great touch. I especially like the raised area in the back which gives you a bird’s eye view of the shop and the street or if you turn the other way you will see a nice fountain and garden in the back. I rode my bicycle from Sacramento to this area and I’d almost say it’s worth the drive out there again just to enjoy a nice warm drink on a rainy day. Tucked away in a little city with the ocean nearby and the locals chatting away outside. All that’s left is a nice fire to sit near, now that would be awesome. Can’t wait to visit again. PS: The chai here is unbelievably good. I am a chai fanatic. I learned how to make chai from watching the experts in Pakistan who do it for a living. This place takes the cake.

My favorite café! We spend at least one week a year in Anchor Bay and I used to worry about being too far away from caffeine! Little did I know that the Blue Canoe was right up the hill from our camp! The workers are so warm and welcoming, and I have yet to have a bad mocha. They have wonderful treats, and a great little patio in the back. Makes me wish I was closer so I could be a regular. Starbucks has never been the same since.

Had a great capp here. Not a lot of choices for your coffee fix in this area so I was very happy to find Blue Canoe. They have comfy chairs and books to browse — check em out!

This is an unremarkable looking coffee/tea shop on the Northern California coast. It would have been so easy to drive by this place but thank goodness for my full bladder… we stopped and I am so glad we did because this is one of those remarkable finds that feels even more special because we stumbled on it. The reason I am giving this place five stars is because I stopped at Blue Canoe once about two years ago and I’m still thinking about the cup of chai I had. TWOYEARSAGO! A CUPOFCHAI! I remember saying out loud, «this is the best chai I’ve ever had.» The woman behind the counter told me she blends it herself. I still think about that cup of chai… two years later and am kicking myself for not buying some of this blend to go. This was a lesson to me and now I know that if I ever find myself thinking or uttering the phrase, «best I’ve ever had» of whatever – I should probably get some to go. Duh! In fact I mention this cup of chai often enought that we are thinking of making a weekend excursion up the coast this weekend and you can bet your bippy we’ll stop at Blue Canoe. It’s in such a remote location I worry about it and am concerned that the other Unilocal reviews here are sort of old. Please stop here if you see it! Get the chai! It’s delish.(I’m not some sort of chai freak either.)
