World famous and worth it’s title, Rib line is the best place on the California coastline for some good old fashion award winning BBQ. You will regret not trying the tri tip and chili. The chili also has chunks of savory award winning and television featured tri tip as well. The owner, Rick came out to our table personally and talked with us about the history of this delicious restaurant. This made all the difference. I love to see the owner of a business that really has a passion for what they do. Will definitely be back.

I was so excited, Super Bowl, great friends and my first try of The Rib Line in Grover Beach. With much enthusiasm and a genuine love of Bbg, I ordered from TRL. Picked up at 3:15, one full rack of pork ribs and one whole Bbq chicken. We had our first Rib and chicken at 3:30. At over $ 50 I expected the best. I sit here today, trying to review this food. I am less $ 50, with the driest ribs and chicken I have ever experienced and after a $ 50 investment, I feel very shorted.

Asked our ATV guide for lunch reccomendations and she made our mouths water while describing Ribline’s beach balls, pork and tri tip sandwiches. She sure knows what she’s talking about! Beach balls are sweet potato with a ton of goodies inside — jalapenos, cheese, ranch and wine vinegrette. Deliciously fried texas style. Lunch specials only save a buck or two, but I took advantage of the deal and customized a honey wheat bun with tritip(aka north californa brisket). Well sized slices in a tender combination, snuck inside a perfectly toasted bun. Sauce served on the side. I also sampled my friends’ pulled pork(so amazing but so huge) and ribs(good flavor but dry). But I mostly focused on my cheesy macaroni which was delightfully warm and gooey. There is also a man vs food competition — 4lb tritip in 90min. I do not want to even THINK about attempting as I know for sure that food would win. Even with my regular sandwich, this was the worst food coma I had in months.

Not the best but not the worst either. Tri tip king nap was just ok, nothing special about the meat. Mac and cheese was ok. The onion rings were very crispy which is a plus. Might come back if I’m in the area but not sure. Think got tricked into going because of the whole man vs food appeal.

Ribline cranks out some delicious food. Amazing ribs. Ribline catered our company holiday party dinner with Tri tip, Chicken and Salmon… everything was absolutely delicious. So good in fact, the next morning i stopped by the shop to have beef ribs and baby backs for breakfast!

WAYBETTER than Best Lovin and Mo’s. Hands down winner in the 5 cities area. I got the ½ black and bleu salad… smoked tri tip and bleu cheese on salad. Simply amazing. Unless there are at least 2 of you, get the ½. I think it was $ 9. Grill Master… best way to try a little of everything. 2 sides and cornbread with cinnamon butter. Pretty sure the cinnamon butter is crack. Wow. $ 22. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Very clean.

We’d originally seen this place advertised in our room during our stays at Avila Village Inn. During those times we’d always order in and have it delivered(they deliver free to AVI). It wasn’t until this years visit that we actually went to the venue itself. The location itself was located in a fairly quiet area. The food was excellent as always and the service great. Whether you decide to dine in or have it delivered, do yourself a favor and try these guys. They know their BBQ and do it darn well!

I was craving a pulled pork sandwich, so we decided to come here. The place was decent and clean, the cashier was friendly so was the server lady. I ordered the Bye Bye Piggy($ 11), it was very tasty, good combination of cheese and bacon on top. My husband got the Piggy On Fire($ 11), I tryed it too, super duper scrumptious! Next time I will get that one. My girls shared a plain pulled pork sandwich($ 9), The Onion rings($ 7) were really good, they served with three diping sauces: barbecue, ketchup and ranch. The sandwiches are bigger compared to what other restaurants serve, they put lots of delicious meat. We enjoyed our lunch!

What to say, what to say… I liked this place well enough, but not quite well enough to make this a regular stop. Heres why: Service — service was great! The young waitress who seated us, took our orders, etc was very good. She even brought a small sample of the chili to try! Aces on service! Prices are comparable to other local BBQ places. ‘Nuf said. Food — Ah, now here is where it gets interesting, if you’re into reading other peoples opinions about food. Lets start with the chili… REALLY good stuff!!! Nice kick, slightly thinner consistancy than I’m partial to, but definitely worth the foo-farah about being award-winning. The pork ribs were the meatiest I’ve ever seen! Very good, tender and tasty! The beef ribs were another matter. The flavor was great, and I am actually partial to tougher, dryer beef ribs than my wife. These beef ribs definitely gave my ‘bronto-rib tearing’ teeth and jaws a workout! BUT… are they worth of being award-winning? Simple answer; no. Are they worth the price of tender beef ribs that are juicier? No. The tri-tip was definitely worth a trip back… tender, juicy and having great texture… maybe next time Ill just get tri-tip! Now, what all of you have been waiting for… THESIDEDISHREVIEW! The slaw was totally excellent! Rough-chopped cabbages and a lighter type dressing really made the slaw worthwhile… and thats from an obligate carnivore! The cornbread was unremarkable, more like very moist corn cake, but the apple butter was good. The fries can best be described as «cute». Although they were good, these are NOT the kind of fries you want with BBQ. These are fries to go with a cucumber sammy at a garden party. So, there it is. Enjoy!

Very, very rarely do i find beef ribs an option in bbq joints. And when i do, theyre unfortunately not amazing. From where i live(san jose), theres only one restaurant i go to for beef ribs. That being said, i guess you can assume im pretty picky with my ribs! I was a little curious how well their beef rib execution would be when i first eyed it while skimming the menu. Fortunately, my group and i came during happy hour: we were able to order the same food selections with happy hour prices. My order: three single beef ribs($ 3 a rib), and a quarter of bbq chicken, dark meat($ 4). Boy. .right when the food was delivered to our table, i instantly knew it was going to be tasty! The ribs were p-e-r-f-e-c-t! The chicken was tender and moist. The sauce was on point. …i could not be happier with our choice of eating at rib line! I was definitely stuffed by the time i finished. I wish i lived closer to this area, because i would definitely become a regular here.

AMAAAAZINGFOOD, especially RIBS(of course lol)!!! FYI: They deliver for FREE!!! Please take advantage if you’re in the area or live here! I know I would get Rib Line frequently if we had the luxury of these amazing ribs: D – FOOD – We had arrived during Happy Hour and the specials seem awesome, but make sure to look closer and compare between the full menu prices and the Happy Hour prices, sometimes the full menu(half rack or full racks) are more worth it. A few of my friends in our large party wanted to do the Family Feast($ 75). This included: ½ rack beef, ½ rack baby backs, 12 oz tri-tip, ½ bbq chicken, pint of beans, pint of slaw, 4 baked potatoes and 4 cornbread loaves. You are also allowed to modify the Feast to substitute things in and out. We didn’t want baby backs, so we basically requested an entire rack of beef(which comes with 6 ribs). My favorite part of the Family Feast was the beef ribs and the cornbread!!! SOOO yummy! The cornbread comes with this yummy cinnamon-butter dipping blend. Much like Texas Roadhouse spread for their bread, if you know what I mean(it’s absolutely delicious). The tri-tip was cooked a little over medium rare, which I prefer it a bit more rare, but it was still delicious! Every part of the Family Feast was juicy and flavorful, I would get this again if I had others to share with. Even the simple baked potato with butter was divine. Unfortunately, as I write this review… I realize that they had forgotten to give us the pint of beans that was suppose to be included in the Family Feast, hence why there is no picture of the beans. Personally, this bums me out because for $ 75.00, you want to be able to have everything in the meal, so make sure everything gets served to you. I won’t dock a star, because Bottom line, their beef ribs* are dense and huge, Rib Line does NOT skimp on the meat. You can always purchase single beef rack ribs for $ 4/each. You won’t regret it, they’re ENORMOUS. I got full after 2 from the Family Feast! *Note: The beef ribs are bigger than the picture is portraying! Trust me, they’re relatively hefty in size when you see it! – SERVICE – AWEEEESOME service. The take-out cashier at the front of the restaurant was super friendly. He even came up to us several times to continue talking to us about the Giants when we were seated and eating. Our server was great at recommending items off the menu to each individual’s personal cravings and gave us honest opinions on portions. He was enthusiastic and funny, glad he was the server for our large party. I’d come again and again. Wish you had a location in NorCal! ‘Till next time, Rib Line! ^__^

Amazing food and great lunch specials! I ordered the tri-tip slider I was expecting a small burger but my gosh it was pretty damn big for a slider. My friend got pulled pork slider and that was delicious as well along with our sliders we ordered basket of fries which was perfectly seasoned and had great texture and taste. We also tried their worlds famous award winning tri tip chili with no beans my gosh I could have just had them and been satisfied. All this food was $ 5 for each item and that’s the special they offer at lunch which is pretty damn amazing. They’ve been on TV if you recall the show man vs food. If you you ever go up to the Central Coast please make sure you stop by this place they have 2 locations one in San Luis Obispo and the other in Oceano.

Coming from the Bay Area, my girlfriends and I went to Pismo Beach to go ATV’ing. Then this place was recommended to us by a worker at Arnies ATV. Upon arriving we had no clue that this place was featured on Man VS Food which we thought was super cool. The ambiance was very chill and welcoming. Long story short Bryan(a manager) found out we graduated from the same high school as him and we were just beyond flabbergasted! What a small world right? He continued to make us feel right at home and explained the dishes that was brought out. Food was AMAZING. Ribs were cooked perfect with the right amount of sauce. I fell in love with the sides… Beans are a must try as well as the baked potatoes. The sour cream that comes with it was soooo delicious. The appetizer called Beach Balls(?) was nothing like we’ve ever had. The taste was incredible bursting with tons of flavor. All 3 of us girls work retail so we are very big on customer service. We know great associates when we see them. All of the workers there had smiles on their faces and made the experience really good for us. Everyone was accommodating. Overall, I would recommend this place to everyone especially if you don’t have one in your area!
