Picture it. 2002. I am a senior in college down at Poly and living in Pismo Beach. Mom and Pop S. come to visit their darling daughter. She is left with the task of finding them a hotel room for the night. It was unfortunately a big weekend for the central coast and the only hotel room under $ 300/night to be found was here. *phone rings* Me: Hey mom. How’s it going? Mom S.: We are here in this DIVE that you set up for us. Me: It can’t be THAT bad. What’s wrong. Mom S.: We’re going to wait until you get here to find out. Upon walking into hotel room, the curtains are hanging off of the curtain rods, there is dirty debris in the shower and in the toilet, the mirror in the bathroom is badly cracked, and, worst of all, there were blood stains on the bed spread. I just completed my annual blood borne pathogen training at work. Guess how long the Hepatitus B virus remains bioactive on a dried surface. THIRTYDAYS!!! It is also one of the easiest seroconverters out there. Yeah yeah yeah, I am aware of the immunizations available to prevent seroconversion.(Have you read my EOMC review?) Nonetheless, unacceptable.
