I had high hopes for this place. Cute restaurant. Owners seemed nice. Food was not good at all though. Thai was bland. Rolls were small. $ 70 and hardly enough food to fill us up. I had the green curry chicken and it was as if they threw some green curry paste, red pepper seasoning, a half of an onion(not even chopped really), a couple pieces of green pepper, and what I think was squash, with maybe a quarter of a chicken breast in there. We were happy thinking we found a new Thai place. I guess we’ll continue to do the drive to Thai Vylia in Allen Park.

We had miso soup, garden salad, sodas and bento #2 I think: Sushi and Shrimp. The entire meal was fresh, beautiful, delicious. The shrimp breading was so delicate and light. The tempura vegetables were nicely done: flavorful, just tender, not over cooked– perfect. The sushi was very nice, the salmon had great color, flavor, cut. I’ve been there once before for takeout sushi which was also fantastic! The touches that make this a posh little place are exciting. The counter under the cash register changes color and has a modern glass and metal look. The napkins are deep violet and silky, and the tablecloths look like pale gold tapestry. There are wooden ships– artistic sculptures– on the wall. The bathrooms are beautiful. The line of bamboo stems is pretty! The glass sushi case/bar is clean and fancy. The chairs are new, high, black padded and luxurious. I over-tipped and gave compliments both times, and I want a lot of people to go there to eat all the time. I hope this place is around forever! I worry because it is so beautiful inside that it seems that it must cost a lot of money– I hope that they can stay very busy and make enough money to keep everything so fresh and beautiful for many years to come.

Very excited to have sushi bar on the island. Since moving from California, it is so difficult to find a good sushi bar around. First visit at E&J Kitchen was a bit disappointing. most of the sashimi I want to eat are out and the few that they do have, the quality is just like many other sushi places in the region. Service is good and the owner/chef is very attentive and very receptive to feedback. It shows because my second visit was much improve. The sushi and sashimi are very fresh. Great addition to the neighborhood.

The sushi cheifs rarely wash their hands. One of them dropped a jalapeño on the floor, picked it up then washed it off and started to cut it for my roll. The portions are tiny and the prices are huge. Sadly I do not like this place… I had high hopes :(

So excited to have a new option on the island! Ate lunch here today and was pleasantly surprised by their options. I opted for the two rolls with salad, and really enjoyed my choices. I had the spicy salmon crunch, and the Boston. Both were very good. My friend ordered their teriyaki chicken and tempura shrimp bento box with a salad and was very happy. Lots of food for reasonable prices.
