We headed to Home Depot to solve a problem we had with a threshold from hardwood to tile. The traditional methods would not work for us. Thanks to Superman in the lumber department at the Gretna location for helping us find a solution! He really did save the day!

Just like its competition when it comes to service but a better selection on lawn equipment. Not an easy place to get in and out of quickly.

If it wasn’t for the old crabby redhead checking me out(and I mean this in a retail way), this would be your regular hd store, high prices and low stock and all. But she works there and I see her almost twice daily. Plus I hate going there twice daily… But there are also the very nice and friendly employees who know me by name. That had to count for something, right? Still, big box, low wages, high prices = 2 stars

This is my least favorite of the HDs in my sphere of travel. The whole place is sketchy. The parking lot is kind of awful. The store is often out of stock and but at least it’s cleaner than the parking lot… The staff is helpful and so points for that. Last time I went, I walked out empty handed since they were sold out of the one thing I really needed. HDHQ needs to rehab this store soon.

I hate this place. Not because of anything they have done wrong. As Aesop said– Familiarity breeds contempt. We have been to this Home Depot almost every day for the last 2 months while gutting and remaking rooms in our house. I have gotten help, tips and tricks on Carpentry(rebuilding a room from the studs and joists), plumbing(redoing the pipes in my bathroom), electrical(everything from fixing a bad circuit breaker box, tracking down shorts, all the way to wiring and installing fixtures and receptacles). Even to what kind of drywall I should use, paint, flooring etc. Through it all, someone or the other there has been willing to lend some advice and help make what could have been a $ 5k + job to cost more like $ 1000. But MAN am I sick of going there all the time.

How does one go about reviewing a Home Depot? I mean, it’s a huge hardware outlet. They sell everything from ceiling fans(have you ever just stood in that section on a hot summer day? Refreshing!) to all kinds of rope and everything in between. On the rare occasion that I have found myself here, I have been able to find whatever it is that I was looking for.

It’s a Home Depot. The prices are what you’d expect, and the service not so bad. It’s the weird parking lot that makes this place bonkers. It’s all at odd, short right angles and largely unstriped with shopping carts all scattered. Really, the feng shui is way off.

Comedy… went in to get a piece a wood cut and BOTH wood cutters in the store were out of order. I could have sworn Home Depot is a hardware store and supposedly gives advice on how to fix things… Here’s a clue HD, fix your freakin’ hardware… it doesn’t look good when you give advice about how to fix things when you can’t fix/get fixed your own hardware… again comedy!

This Home Depot is conveniently located on the West Bank Expressway in Gretna. The store stays well stocked considering the amount of people who shop here. Every time I have been to this location, it is crowded. They have a good selection of appliances(I bought my new fridge here after Katrina). The easiest way to enter this store is from Stumpf. The entrance from the expressway isn’t as convenient. If exiting the lot on to the expressway, use caution. Because of the proximity to the Stumpf exit, there is high speed traffic entering the road near the exit of Home Depot.
