Can’t believe I’ve never reviewed this place! It’s awesome! Everything is very delicious, it’s pricey but worth it. If you enjoy a great steak and want nice atmosphere, definitely worth it. Everything they have is very good, this would be a great place to take a date or enjoy a special occasion. I remember I really enjoyed their crab cake :) Can’t wait to visit again!

If you like atmosphere, and all the«fancy» that goes with it, this is the place for you. VERY overpriced! My wife got the 9oz filet that she said was delicious. I got the NY strip that was 1⁄3 fat and gristle. Filet was $ 41 and NY strip was $ 37. SIDESAREEXTRA! Crab Cake was very good($ 16). One page menu(see website). I wanted seafood, but didn’t see anything on the limited selections I wanted. Service was excellent, but I won’t go back.

My wife and I went to Stabs brunch this morning and it is the only Chef class restaurant in Central, La. My wife had the Turtle soup for her appetizer and the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with Spicy Ravigote. The turtle soup was as good as Justin Wilson’s(who made that for us at his home on the Tickfaw River years ago — remember him?). I had the Shrimp & Grits, with La. style tomato-shrimp roux and pepperjack cheese grits for my appetizer and the Filet Tips and Scrambled Eggs with Creamed Leek Potatoes and Hollandaise sauce. The crab cake was one pound of lump crab meat(no breading) mixed with ravigote which is a classic, lightly acidic sauce in French cuisine which is a a velouté, with herbs. Of course we both had the bottomless mimosa made with fresh-squeezed orange juice adorned with a fresh strawberry. We finished up with bananas foster and house-made ice cream and coffee. What I will say is all of the dishes were of superior chef quality and simply delicious. This is world class cuisine in Central, Louisiana. The service was fantastic, the setting was beautiful in the New Orleans French Quarter style. The prices are fitting and from my experience low for such fabulously prepared dishes by an experienced Chef. I will say my wife licked her crab cake dish which we staged; took a picture of and sent to the Chef … not crude … just a cute way to express to them in a non-conventional way how well we enjoyed the food. It really was fantastic. The Chef, staff and waitress got a kick out of it.

Was given a gift card to stabs, which I had never heard of, but will come back for sure! Had the 9oz fillet, my girlfriend had the 6oz fillet with shrimp, and we got the three cheese Mac to share. All the food was delicious! Best steak I have ever had from a restaurant. Our waitress was Shelby, and I would have to say is the best waitress I have ever had, great energy, very nice and extremely knowledgeable about all the food and drinks. Even if the food wouldn’t have been good, which it was amazing, she still would have gotten a great tip. Would recommend stabs to anyone that wants to go out to a nice restaurant with great food. For a couple expect about a hundred dollars for the evening.

This was the worst steak that I ever had. 16 ounce prime rib. 10 ounces was pure fat. Fat is good for flavor but 10 ounces is ridiculous. Never again will I eat there. Then they brought me A 6 ounce filet to replace the prime rib. The filet came out in a very hot skillet with a ¼ inch of oil in the skillet. Pretty disgusting. Ruth Chris 10 tines better. The only good thing I had was the house salad.

The food is only ok and way overpriced for what you get and the service you receive. Was just meh to me. You go in hungry and leave hungry because the amount of food just isn’t enough. When my husband has to come home and fix a sandwich after just paying for a meal that costs that much, it will never happen again, ever. Yes, it is an upscale place to go eat in a little ol town, and not a place you feel comfortable bringing kids or even babies too, at all.

What a treat! My husband brought me on a date here a couple of weeks ago and I can still vividly remember it(that’s how good it was!). We had made a reservation, as recommended, so we were seated promptly at 7PM. Our waitress’s name was Morgan G. and she was wonderful! She seemed knowledgable of the menu and helped me with my entrée selection. I’m somewhat embarrassed to say that I came to a steak restaurant and ordered the New Orleans shrimp dish, but when you’re pregnant, you eat what you crave and don’t worry about semantics! Morgan told me how much she enjoyed the New Orleans shrimp, so that helped ease my mind about my choice. I ordered the macaroni and cheese as a side dish and, holy cow! was it yummy! I still crave it to this day. My husband ordered the sea bass with a side of asparagus and he thought they were pretty tasty as well. — The side dishes are large enough for two people to share, so be mindful of that. — We also ordered a crab cake appetizer and a house salad(with house dressing). The crab cakes were divine! You could really taste the crab and the spicy rivagote complemented it nicely. The house dressing was an amazing burst of flavor that paired well with the salad. The only negative that I could mention is that my seat was a bench seat and a row of other tables also utilized it. I prefer having my own seat, but at least our neighbors were pleasant. We went to a movie after dinner and while waiting for the movie to start(theater lights were still on), we noticed our neighbors from dinner at Stab’s walked in right behind. Great minds think alike, I guess! All in all I was very impressed with Stab’s. It wasn’t my first experience at a fine dining restaurant but it was certainly one of the best and most memorable. I can’t wait for our next date night! Side note: I have since ordered the New Orleans shrimp from another restaurant and it was so disappointing. I will be returning ASAP to get more of Stab’s New Orleans shrimp!

Great service. Wonderful atmosphere. Excellent food. The creole bread pudding appetizer is a unique surprise as an appetizer. The fried shrimp entrée is one of my favorites due to the size of the shrimp and delicate flavor. Also the smoked prime rib is not to be missed.

5 Stars for food &(especially) Service. Being a purveyor of locally owned restaurants, I was familiar with Stabiler’s other restaurants and had high expectations for this one. So much so, that we drove 45 minutes to dine here for my wife’s birthday. Our server, Jonathan, was very knowledgeable and balanced friendly banter with professional presentations. The food, as we expected, was thoughtfully prepared and we enjoyed each course thoroughly. The watermelon cocktail was refreshing and original. We will be dining here again soon to try a few other items we had to pass over. Very few cons here, not worth mentioning in this review. To my fellow foodies — don’t pass up giving this place try. Ask questions about the food and enjoy learning. Then be quiet and enjoy the wine ;)

Excellent food and service! Cocktails here are fresh and delicious. Their wedge salad with the balsamic reduction and chunks of pork belly is my favorite. Steaks are served sizzling in a cast-iron skillet, so I like to order slightly more rare than my usual preference. The cookie skillet desert with ice cream is a great way to end a great meal at Stabs!

I walked in with my child and when I entered, the hostess didn’t even say hello. The waitress smugly led us to a table that was right by the front door. I didn’t want to sit by the bar with my child, so I asked for another table. I was rudely told this was the only table with 4 empty tables in sight. We got up and left. They didn’t try to fix the problem. They just told us bye. Not a friendly place to eat.

The food was amazing! I had the 9 oz filet. Cooked perfectly. There were onion crisp on top that really added to the experience. Curly 3 cheese macaroni was delicious. Loaded baked potato was huge! The waiter was attentive to every need I had. They serve cheesecake at your table. They pour delectable servings of caramel over top. Then they light it on fire in front of you. Great presentation. I will be going back again. My only complaint is the salad dressing is of unusual sorts. No ranch–
