Very friendly staff and our server took the time to explain some of the menu items to members of our group. The restaurant space is clean and inciting, slightly dim but not awkwardly so. The sushi chefs prepare their art at an open counter so you can sit there and watch and eat if you like. There’s plenty of space for a large group or small depending on needs.

This is still the same quality as Sushi Koji. Koji retired and his partner Max Godo now owns it. Sushi Go is Godo shortened, please don’t think this is fast food or to-go sushi. It is first quality Japanese food with many authentic Japanese items. My family has been eating here for many years, my guess would be 9 years. The food is always perfect and they make us feel welcomed in a warm way.

I am local to Greenville so I have tried all sushi restaurants in downtown. Sushi Go is the BEST in town! I always order miso soup, salmon lemon roll, and red bean ice cream. The Orient Mule is my current fave cocktail. You can’t go wrong here! The quality and service is excellent.

The name has changed to sushi Go which was confusing at first. However, the food was awesome! I am always ify on fish restaurants that I am not familiar with, especially sushi, but it did not disappoint! We ordered the shrimp tempura, which was good. Then ordered three specialty rolls that were awesome! Yum! The Riesling was really good too, although seemed a little high priced for a house wine($ 8/glass).

Came in with a friend for some sushi after remembering what a great experience I had a while back. For some reason the place was empty on a Friday night, weird. Nonetheless, the service was quick and our waitress was very attentive. Sushi was good and fresh and I could see the chefs making it behind the little counter. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t serve fried rice, but I think that’s because they don’t classify as a hibachi restaurant but who knows. Overall the food was still yummy and I would absolutely return.

Was not impressed with the sushi especially for the price tag. I’m visiting my father from California so I was a little nervous about southern sushi and sadly, I was right. Normally when you order niguri, you get two pieces, here, you get one. What? Fine. I also ordered the rainbow roll and I had a few pieces that were not fresh and had a very fishy taste. The presentation was good for all the food, but in my opinion, bad sushi is bad sushi. The service was good and the lychee sake was also very good but me and my father will not be returning.

Don’t try to order take out… person answering the phone had to get someone who spoke English… and they didn’t have two things on the menu on Unilocal… no website… no food… no good.

Awesome sushi! Been here 4 times and it gets better each time. The music is awesome too. They play obscure/unpopular 90’s pop and rock.

Amazing! Japanese chefs and the sushi is always fresh! Every time we come they have blue fun toro too. Our favorite sashimi appetizer. We also enjoy many of their rolls– my favorite is probably the Surf & Turf Roll. Very friendly staff. We try to come once every one or two weeks

I give this sushi place 4 stars and not 5 only because they don’t have coke products or wheat beer… The rolls were excellent! Four of us ordered different rolls and shared, all were very good! I recommend!

I love sushi, and I guess I may be biased with this review as I already have found my favorite sushi place back home. Was visiting town for work and decided I’d rather walk across the street from the hotel to eat something light than stay in and order room service. The house salad was ok, the ginger dressing I can honestly say is an acquired taste. Had to force myself to eat the little salad, and even though I love salads I left about half of it unfinished because I just couldn’t handle the dressing. I ordered a Clemson roll, thinking it would be to my liking since I love snow crab. I wondered why the sushi was so cheap and when I got the roll I understood — a tiny roll, only 6 pieces, although this didn’t bother me as much as the mediocre taste of it(I think too many restaurants serve portions way too large, and have always thought it should be about quality and not quantity). To try to kill the lack of taste I figured I’d try some sashimi and went with the assorted option. Again, quantity was proportional with the price on the sashimi; 4 different kinds of fish, two small pieces each(1“x½“X1/3″). I’m sorry to say that the taste went from lacking to horrible as I tried my first bite — the sashimi was so extremely«fishy» I had to force myself not to cry as I just chewed and swallowed. I understand some restaurants have some dishes which are good and others not so good, but to try three different things and for the taste to go from bad to worse as I progressed through my dinner just made me feel I wasted my time and money coming to this place. Service was ok, although I would say they could have been friendlier, and the guys at the sushi bar could have been a bit nicer instead of looking like they hated life and all that comes with it… I hope if you decide to go there you have a better experience than me, no one should have to feel forced to eat the food just to avoid being rude.

This is the go-to sushi spot in Greenville for my wife and me. The chef’s are right out front preparing orders. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are low, especially for downtown Greenville. Can easily get dinner under $ 30 per couple. The best place to park is in the garage on the back side of Main Street. Sushi Koji will validate parking if you spend $ 50+(hard to do, but possible with a group).

The atmosphere is what you’d expect from a sushi place. The service was less than average — slow for the restaurant being pretty empty. The rolls were good and the Miso Ramen was divine. I’ll be back for the Ramen. And perhaps sit at the bar, so I don’t have high expectations on the wait staff.

Bonus points awarded for an excellent customer service experience, the hostess was a joyful and endearing woman that really made us love the place almost immediately. Add to that the fact that, by chance, we walked in during happy hour and got Kirin’s for $ 2 a pint, and we were ready for a great meal. Unfortunately, it didn’t really work out that way. The sushi wasn’t terrible, but it was nowhere near our expectations given the great Unilocal rating the restaurant currently enjoys. The two special rolls we ordered were tiny, closer to what we’d expect from something like a standard tuna roll. The flavors were muddled, and the fish on top was super thin, practically nonexistent. It can’t be understated — the proteins were cut so small and thin that you could basically see the rice underneath it. Could this be normal for sushi in the area? Perhaps, we only had the opportunity to eat at one sushi restaurant in Greenville during our visit, and this had the best rating of those in the immediate area. Maybe we’re just spoiled by the number and range of sushi restaurants back home. But all things being equal, Sushi Koji just doesn’t rate very highly for us.

I have eaten here multiple times for lunch. I have had a variety of items, from sushi lunch specials to chirashi, to teriyaki and tempura items. I’ve found it all to be quite good, and will happily return. The sushi lunch special is often an excellent buy. Good place for a nice but reasonably priced business lunch as well.

Very fresh and flavorful sashimi. I stopped by for a late lunch. It was quiet and the service was prompt. I can’t say much else other than that, but the place seems really nice. I was just passing through town on business, so I probably won’t get the chance to visit again. I dined alone, but it seems like it would be a fine place for a business lunch, too. I had the chef’s choice sashimi lunch item. They served the octopus with thin slices of lime which I thought was a bit of a unique touch.

I have ventured here a couple of times for lunch when I was madly craving sushi. This place has some tasty sushi, but I find their lunch specials to still be a tad on the pricy side. I really appreciate that they have some interesting specials you can get at lunch. Around Valentine’s Day, they had a special where all the stuff on the plate was pink and all the maki rolls were wrapped with a pink soybean wrapper. It appears that they have different specials every day. Now, onto the food. First off, I have to give them mad props for their fantastic sushi rice. It is that wonderful combination of stickiness, saltiness, and just a hint of sweetness that I really love. It is definitely the best sushi rice I’ve had here in town. Next, the fish is always fantastic as well — fresh and thicker cuts than some places. Most of their lunch specials are served with either a soup or salad. I cannot speak about their salad, as I always order the miso soup. I can say that their miso is tasty. If you like a bit of a milder miso flavor, this one might be preferable to you. Two things really keep it from being a 5-star experience: first, I dislike restaurants that put wasabi automatically between the fish and the sushi rice. I do not like the flavor of horseradish, and I always forget that places just automatically put in on your sushi. I always end up having to scape it off the fish and sacrifice some of the rice. Second, I always end up spending more than $ 15 with tax and tip at lunch time. This is usually just for the lunch combo itself, with maybe a hot tea. The food is high quality, but the portions are just not terribly big and I never have leftovers or anything. It has never been terribly busy when I’ve been here, and service has been pretty good. The staff is always polite and always asks if our food is good. It has always been clean here as well. To sum it up: good food, good service, but a little expensive.
