Dark Corner Distillery

Great stop over. The $ 4(!) tasting covered much more than 6 varieties. We were offered samples of their mixed cocktails featuring delicious local mixes. The Moonshine was indeed smooth but it was the Lewis Redmond that stunned me. I’m not a whiskey drinker but this stuff showed me why people dig it.

Fabulous distillery! We came here on a whim waiting for friends we’re visiting to get out of work and I’m glad we did. For $ 8 we each tried 6 whiskeys and got to keep the shot glasses. I loved the apple whiskey! Who knew flavored whiskey could be so good? I’m not a whiskey fan but I really liked everything we tried and the bartenders were fantastic!

The opportunity to try 6 different spirits for 4 $? Great deal. Christina was very knowledgeable and great to talk with. No pressure to buy anything just very relaxing conversation and some spirits to try. Must go to!

Poured with Casey. Wonderful samples of all the flavors for just four bucks. Casey is not only vivacious, but well informed about the product. Terrific ambiance, tasting right the where the barrels and still are located.

A MUST do while downtown… we just left, this place was GREAT! Christina was SUPER friendly and knowledgeable of all the varieties offered! Only could’ve been better if they had the apple cobbler available to sample. What a deal, $ 4 for 6 tastings with souvenir shot glasses!

The staff was very friendly and helpful helpful. The tasters we enough to taste. The give you max the laws allow the don’t skimp the have large selection of simple syrups. Recommend stopping by this place.

First time here and we are so glad we stopped by. Christine and Josh were super helpful and knowledgeable. They went through lengths to demonstrate their products. My hubby did the tasting and he liked all of them. His favorite being Tiger.

This was our first visit to a distillery and had an amazing experience. I’m normally a wine drinker, and any type of hard liquor I have is usually in a mixed drink. We sampled six different types, the sweet ones were much more easier to drink straight for my palette. The regular ones were very good too though, I think they would be great in mixed drinks. At the end they gave us a sample of a mixed drink with the peach whiskey and a peach pie mixer. It was FANTASTIC! It tasted just like peach pie and it was impossible to taste the alcohol. Obviously you need to be careful because I’m sure it would be easy to drink way too much before you realize it, but delicious nonetheless. I love that you get to take your shot glass home as a souvenir. The service here is top notch and the people here are extremely knowledgeable. If the tastings are a little strong for you, ask for water between each one to clear your palette a little. It helped a lot for me.

Super friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable staff! The sign caught our eye and we had to stop in to check it out. Ended up at the tasting bar after looking at the still operation and all the souveniers.
Our server, Zach, took the time to explain the interesting history of the company and each of their different types of whisky. We found some we liked and others would be a more acquired taste, but ended up taking home a bottle of the Butterscotch whiskey.
It was an interesting 30 minutes of our day and well worth the $ 4 we spent for the tasting. I would say that there’s a good chance we’ll be back to restock before long!

My husband and I really enjoyed learning about the history of moonshine from Zach and sampling six different flavors. If you’re a whiskey connoisseur, you will enjoy a visit to Dark Corner Distillery. The gift shop offers a selection of shirts, shot glasses, flasks, etc., so I did a little Christmas shopping while there!

This place is fun way to start an evening of walking (not driving), eating and dancing!
For $ 4 each, you get to taste 6 different moonshines or bourbon. Zach was our host and was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We will be back again and will bring all of our out-​of-​town friends here. Such fun!

A must go to place!!! Moonshine is great, but mix together the knowledge, friendliness, and twist on flavor of this place you have something truly unique! Alexandria was more than a delightful hostess! She brought true southern charm to our first time visit here. We tried 6 different flavors of shine, and along with each one she had many suggestions for masterful and unique mixology suggestions.
When the tasting was over her charm did not stop. We asked for a restaurant suggestion for lunch. Not only did she offer many suggestions, she pulled out a downtown map and showed us exactly where to go. These are the type of people that make visitors rave about a town. They are the kind of people that draw one time visitors into yearly «pass» holders.
This is a must do on your list for downtown Greenville!!!

I have enjoyed the Lewis Redmond Bourbon that Dark Corner produces so My wife and I stopped by on a beautiful Friday afternoon. What a friendly and helpful group of people! My wife ALWAYs asks a lot of questions about how things are made– fortunately one of the employee’s, Ellexandria was extremely knowledgable and happy to answer all of her questions. We even were given a couple of tastings of some of the latest flavored moonshine that was out for sale!
We also talked to Trevor about a few points while we were evaluating the Moonshine. He was friendly and informative as well.
I can highly recommend Dark Corner as a short stop if you are in the Greenville area and interested in how a small batch distiller operates.
We did, of course, relieve them of a few products when we left!

What else is there to say other than you must put this on your list of things to do when visiting Greenville. I’m not a whiskey/​bourbon/​moonshine drinker, but I enjoyed the tasting and checking out the distillation process.
Trevor did our tasting, and apparently it was only his second one ever. He had done his homework, and answered a lot of our questions about their history and the process. Very informative, and everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating.
We picked up a jar of moonshine bbq sauce — I highly recommend it. We also sampled a few other food items. Next time I’m in Greenville I will definitely be back. This place is a fun little stop while spending an afternoon walking around downtown.

This isn’t the place for a big tour but it is the place for great tasting legal moonshine. Our favorite is the Tiger Fire which is a punch flavored whiskey (dedicated to you Clemson fans. It is smooth enough to drink straight (for me over ice). I also bought the Appl-​achian apple and maple flavored whiskey. It is REALLY smooth. But be careful! Boy I learned that the hard way. You don’t realize how much you drink until it’s too late. I also tried the apple cobbler mix with the straight corn whiskey. It cuts the alcohol %, but it tastes great. They have a neat gift shop with shirts, some food products and a lot of cool things.

The young lady who was there was so nice and knowledgable about the different shines, whiskey and bourbon that they make! It is $ 4 for a tasting of 6 and you get to keep the shot glass!
I personally am not a huge moonshine person but the flavored ones they have were pretty good! The peach, apple and butterscotch were by far my fav ones!
If you like trying different shines, etc. you must stop in here and taste what they have to offer! By far my fav. so far :)

Stopped into Dark Corner Distillery during a recent visit to Greenville. The front room is a gift shop of sorts and the back room houses the distillery, the tasting area, and the liquor sales.
The backroom was really really hot when we were there, surely a product of the distilling. Nonetheless, it didn’t make the tasting experience overly pleasant. The tasting area was really busy with the owner and a new employee working. We waited for two groups ahead of us to finish their tasting. The wait was long because the owner had to stop to make sales in the gift shop.
Once we started tasting, the booze all was really good and the price was right. Even during our tasting though, our helper had to leave to help other customers.
I would return but I hope they staff up a bit especially on Saturdays.

Loved this place! Stopped by just to look and saw they did moonshine tasting for only $ 4! You get to taste 6 different types of moonshine and keep the shot glass as a cute little keepsake. The girls pouring the shots were the sweetest ever! Very knowledgable about the moonshine.
The moonshine itself was pretty good. I’m not a regular drinker of the stuff but we ended up buying a bottle because it was really good.

Amazing corn whiskey shine. Particularly the Original/​100 proof and Hot Mama/​111 proof (chipotle & cinnamon)-SPICEY! I drink them neat to savor the flavor.
Get a frequent shiner punch card.
The staff is top notch! Always ready to hand out a sample and go the extra mile to make you a satisfied customer.
Moonshine makes a great and unique gift for whiskey lovers.
DC now makes a regular whiskey and a bourbon. I look forward to sampling!
