Hampton Inn

First off, this is the best hotel in Greenville so let me explain only the 4 star rating. The good… good service, recently renovated, super comfy beds with washed bed covers, awesome bfast including duck doughnuts some days and chocolate chip waffles, indoor pool and hot tub, good price and location, fridge and microwave in room, cable tv, military discount, wifi… The bad, towels feel like sandpaper as does the cheap TP. There was some road noise at night from greenville blvd but not enough to keep me awake, and paint was peeling in the bathroom.

Overall a great stay, but I would like to make several observations.
First, the climate cannot be controlled from the room and was set at 70 degrees. The fan cannot even be controlled and only comes on automatically where it relates to temperature maintenance. I found this out from front-​counter staff during a conversation about noise in the room. The staff can override this from the desk, but even with the fan on full-​blast, it is but a faint whisper.
Second, the bathroom door hinges were really creaking loudly prompting me to ask the staff for WD-​40, which they provided. This matter is not unrelated to the above issue as an adequate source of white-​noise such as a powerful fan would have made the creaking much less noticeable.
Some positives. Friendly staff, strong coffee, nice breakfast selection, clean pool, exercise room, military discount, comfortable beds and pillows, and even good soap that does not leave me feeling greasy after a shower. They also had good shower pressure and since it was Sunday morning, the TV’s in the dining room played a morning gospel sermon.
I would definitely come back.

I enjoy staying here when traveling to Greenville for work. The staff is very friendly and I look forward to the free breakfast and free happy hours.

We reserved rooms for family members attending our sons wedding. Holly was a true pleasure to work with in making plans/​reservations for this. She is a great representative for Hampton Inns-​Greenville, NC. The hotel was exceptionally clean, a big plus for me. The staff were all professional, patient, kind and people oriented. They all acted like we were the most important folks there… and they were extremely busy, filled up with families attending baseball/​softball tournaments. Very impressed with the desk attendant Mark on Friday and Saturday, he was super nice and very helpful. Clay was patient and kind. Wish we could remember the other names, great folks. The breakfast was nice too! The reason I gave it 4 stars is because when we arrived in our room, the toilet was leaking water from the base. We reported it and when we got back to our rooms several hours later, it was fixed. Really like this hotel and staff.

The hotel seemed new or newly renovated because everything was really nice. The employees were ALL super friendly and nice; especially the front desk. The room was great and nicely furnished, but rather small. If I was back in the area, I would stay here again.

This place is decent. I’m only taking off a star because when we arrived the doors didn’t work and I stood there for a minute thinking it was closed. Walked to the side door, then came back to find one of the front desk people checking on the door. No apology for the fact that it’s cold as s**t outside and I was trying to get in.
Anywho, the stay was enjoyable. They even called the room to make sure we were fine and didn’t need anything. That was nice.
The room was comfortable and cozy. Brekky in the morning was okay. Decent options with food to go. That’s what I like about Hampton Inns… I believe they all offer free daily breakfast.
I’d stay again if I’m ever in the area. As I Amy be coming back next Oct for homecoming. GO PIRATES!!!

On par Hampton quality hotel. Staff was friendly and room was spotless. There are a ton of places to eat close by.

Newer hotel. Staff was really nice and friendly. Room is clean and the bed is comfy. Best of all — The Iron actually works well!
