I would give them zero stars if I could. I welcome a response from Boulevard Bagels, btw. I went there this morning to order an orange juice and an Everything bagel with extra cream cheese. I’ve been there once or twice before, and I know that they’re very cheap with the cream cheese, so I ordered extra. The cashier gave me the total — $ 7.15. I was shocked. I asked him to clarify — he was charging me over $ 7 for 1 bagel and 1 orange juice. He gave me some schpiel that the orange juice is $ 2.50, and I can get another orange juice that’s less expensive, blah blah blah. I waited for him to finish, and asked«How much is my bagel!!!» Response — «Oh, see, I have to charge you for the bagel, and then an extra $ 1.39 for another scoop(scoop?) of cream cheese, and they’re very generous with their cream cheese, blah blah load of crap.» I told him to forget it, put my orange juice back, and walked out. I’m from NY. We have good bagels there, not these pathetic little things Boulevard Bagel sells. And a bagel with cream cheese, loaded with cream cheese, should not cost more than $ 2.50. Not $ 4.65. Rip off, waste of money, waste of my time. Get outtahere with your $ 4.65 bagel with extra cream cheese!!!

I used to eat BB everyday before high school… loved it. I used to buy them and freeze them but the other day I bought a dozen cheese bagels and they must have changed their recipe. They were hard and dense and they didn’t taste like cheese. Super disappointed… they should have kept the old recipe.

This place has long been an establishment in Greenville and for good reason. However, it fell under new ownership recently, and things are definitely not the same. The service is horrible — they act like they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. The last time I was there, the man behind the counter angrily mumbled«I can’t do this» and sent someone else to take our order. He then yelled from the back, «What you see is what you get!» The food has gone down in quality and quantity, and heaven help you if you have a problem with your order. The staff is argumentative and unhelpful. This used to be one of my favorite local spots(in a town seriously lacking non-chain eateries), but now I avoid it as much as possible.

Bagel sandwiches we ordered were delicious, service was pretty good, the place was a little dirty. Only issue was that the menu was very small. After we ordered we saw a dry erase board on the ground leaning up against the wall with a lot more menu items. I’m not sure if we could have ordered these other items, but it would have been nice to have more options.

I came in for the first time in 6 years yesterday and everything is the same as I remember– the array of bagel and spread options, quality joe, free newspapers, no frills but clean dining space, and friendly staff. Oh yeah, and college budget-friendly prices. Bagels are baked fresh daily and sandwich options are solid. While clearly a favorite with the college crowd, it has a true community feel as patrons range from high schoolers to seniors.

Fair disclosure — my brother Mike is the baker. I am responding to one of the posts, in March. Boulevard Bagel is still open and going strong. Not sure why the young lady said they weren’t there. They were purchased in February but continue to make great bagels and some say the best coffee in town.

I only went there because the other bagel shop in town closed down. I ordered a bagel with garden veggie cream cheese… I did not like there veggie cream cheese and my bagel was barely toasted. :(

This is the best bagel shop in Greenville! When I moved here from Jersey 35 years ago Greenville didn’t know what a real bagel was! So glad we have Boulevard Bagel!

Okay, this is a review for Boulevard Bagel, but truth is, I never never eaten one of their bagels and have no idea how they are. However, in addition to selling bagels and schmears, they also serve sandwiches either on a bagel or regular bread and it is those sandwiches on which I base my review. They serve the usual selection of deli sandwiches. I had roast beef both times I ate there and found it to be very good. Their desserts, though limited, are very good. You need to get there early. The service is prompt and the staff is very helpful. Their prices are very good.

It’s been our regular bagel shop for almost 20 years! In this area, they are the friendliest and best local fresh bagel shop. The cream cheeses are yummy — ESP the veggie! If you’re a student, there are always specials! Whenever I’m back in Greenville visiting, I always take back a dozen with me — the asiago and everything bagels are the best!

Love this place. I work in Greenville a couple of days a month, and I make sure to stop in for the toasted sesame bagel with veggie cream cheese. Yum.(I usually hit Starbuck’s for coffee. BB is a little watery for my taste, otherwise I would give it 5 stars.)

My friend took me here to get bagels for both our families. We may have arrived a bit late since they were out or low on several types of bagels. The veggie cream cheese spread was tasty. Service was pleasant.

I don’t make it back to Greenville often, but I grew up here and always make time to stop in for a Cheddar bagel. They don’t skimp on the cream cheese and it is so much better than the chain restaurant(ie: Bruegger’s frozen bagels) in Raleigh. Support your local bagel chain! You won’t be disappointed!

This is a decent run of the mill bagel place, on par with run of the mill bagel places in the northeast. Unlike Brueggers crusty but dry bagels, Boulevard’s have a bit of a middle chew. And, the egg and cheese bagel definitely satisfies.

This place is not bad at all. It’s your run of the mill bagel joint. Do try an egg and cheese on jalapeño bagel. Do not try the pasta salad(bleh). They lay the cream cheese on nice and thick — cinnamon raisin is very yummy. Not my favorite bagel joint in the whole wide world(my fave is in Wilmington), but it’s the only place that specializes in bagels in G’ville, and you’ll get a good bagel there. Normally, I’d raise stars for being the best in the area… but this palce has no competition…
