Great coffee and smoothies! Peach smoothie is amazing! I also enjoy their iced coffees. It’s a little pricey for a small. I think the small ice coffees at Starbucks run a little cheaper. But it’s a nice change! For hot drinks — try the white chocolate mocha. It’s excellent!

This place is very odd to me. Yes they serve sushi… And breakfast food? I don’t think I would try both in one sitting, but I’ve had their sushi. It’s not a big menu but they have good choices. I took a breakfast sandwich to go, maybe it would have been better fresh. It was decent and it definitely made me full. If I go back, I’ll probably only go for the sushi and organic coffee. They have a good selection of hand crafted drinks!

I tried this place because it was close to the area I live and pics and reviews made it seem nice. The food was of mixed quality. My Tempura Shrimp deserves a 2 stars. Everything was soggy and 40% of my tempura was uncooked raw panko mush. Furthermore 2 smallish shrimp do not $ 10 rice bowl make. On the other hand the sushi were well made and tasty. I noticed I was the only one eating from the Asian side of the menu, so maybe that’s a sign that I should have tried something else, or it’s a sign of why there is pretty much no good Japanese places in this town.

This place is a hidden gem! We stopped here randomly the morning after the Dead and Company show and were amazed! Where else can you order a Rajin’ Cajun bagel and sushi for brunch? While you wait you can sip on their delicious organic coffee and look at the large array animé comics or read them if you can read Japanese(which I can not).

Toshi’s Café is a bit of a conundrum, but a delightful one at that. It’s not much to look at, but their vast array of products is pretty grand. My sister and I decided to go in for breakfast, as I had read that the breakfast and coffee got pretty high ratings. Therefore, my review cannot speak for the sushi or lunch/dessert items. We ordered two regular coffees with light cream and sugar, and two of the Egg White Delight which is egg whites, provolone cheese, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, avocado and spicy mayo in a spinach wrap. Let me just pass a warning that their spicy mayo is very spicy. My sister and I both dabble in fiery foods, but this was almost overwhelming. We tried to wash it down with our coffee, which was also very hot(temperature wise), but delicious! I have to say that the regular coffee was awesome! My only complaint was that they didn’t have a self-serve area in which to fix your own coffee with cream. When I asked for some milk or cream, the young girl awkwardly handed me a full gallon on whole milk. I would suggest that this be implemented to improve the flow of service. The staff was very nice, but the young girl ringing people up seemed a bit inexperienced and timid. I will definitely return to Toshi’s Café just to try the sushi, as I dearly love it. I may go back for breakfast and try a breakfast sandwich or bagel. They sound like a better option to pair with coffee.

Salmon bagel was a delight. Odd décor includes an interesting collection of Japanese comic books

So the minute you walk in, you’re instantly trying to figure out what they’re trying to identify themselves as? It’s a sushi, deli, bakery, coffee bar, or pottery barn? We tried a breakfast plate that came with cold eggs(not warm), over cooked bacon, and burnt(black toast)! We had a sausage/egg bagel that was hot, but nuked hot! We also had a plain bagel with butter, but it too just seemed tough! The problem is they don’t make their bagels in house, therefore they obviously aren’t restocking each day with fresh ones. The pottery shelves as you come in are layered in dust, as is the book shelves to the right! The couches at the back have slip covers that are stained and crumb filled. The front welcome mat hasn’t been vacuumed in some time as well. The sushi might be great, but I’ll never know due to the dirtiness of the store and the lack of identity! I believe you have to decide what you’re going to be and go for it! Just one guy, and still hungry, honest opinion!

This is one of my very favorite«special treats»! I love the turkey cucumber sandwich on a bagel, the green tea smoothie and the orange soy smoothie are fabulous and the dragon roll sushi is a bit pricey but DELICIOUS! !! I haven’t stopped in for breakfast yet but I plan to soon. I discovered this place back when it was on High Point Rd and had a drive through window and called«Coffee and Roses». Wish it was still there. .but so long as the business isn’t moved away from my neighborhood, I’m happy. I like that I can sit in the couch and read the newspaper while I nosh on my favorite treats. Décor is so so. …but staff and food are FABULOUS

This quaint little restaurant sits right beside Edward Jones in the Harris Teeter shopping center at Adams Farm. For being so quaint, it sure got busy at lunchtime. My mom and I both ordered the Rainbow Roll at $ 10.95 a piece. It’s pricier than sushi you would buy at a grocery store, but fresher as well. And of course, it was made fresh on the spot by Toshi himself. I was afriad I could eat twice that much when it came out on the place, but the roll was bigger than I originally thought it looked to be. By the time I finished, I was quite satisfied. For the non sushi lovers, they have sandwiches. I got a peek at several of them at the table beside me and they looked quite tasty. The ladies didn’t leave anything on their plates, so I imagine they were. The staff was quite helpful in helping me pick out a sushi roll I liked, and willing to modify it just the way I wanted(if I chose), which is always a plus. I’m really picky about my sushi, but this is a place I would hit up again.

Not only is the Sushi amazing but the creative thought that goes into the food is just as amazing. If you can think of it Toshi & his team can make it not only perfect but with great pride! My favorite place to get Sushi and where else can you possibly get sushi and a great Espresso!

What a great surprise! Had the beef bowl and it was delicious! Then I heard some of the staff speaking Japanese! Then I realized why it was so good, the food is authentic!!! I lived in Japan for a couple of years and it was a real treat, I cant wait to go back and try more selections!

I have yet to find something I dislike about this place. I’ve been here a few times and it’s always been fantastic. The first time I came, I got a veggie bagel to go. It came with chips and it was definitely worth a shot. I can’t remember what I got as a meal the second time I went, but I ate in, and the service was fantastic. I finished up my meal with a cannoli that was to die for! Yesterday I ordered a deluxe tuna sandwich. It was amazing! I got it with fried asparagus, which was also really good. This place is definitely worth a try if you’re in the area!

Great owner and service. Come in for better breakfast fare than fast food offerings and a similar price. I’ve also enjoyed their top notch sushi. I need to explore more of menu!

I look forward to spending a morning here. Friendly staff, good coffee excellent breakfast items. Great for meet ups and wifi access to do work I’ve not tried the sushi, but has a great selection of Manga comics. I wish I knew Japanese. The iPad register keeps up with your visits for good discounts! No membership card to show. Love it.

This is an interesting, and rather unusual café, with a varied menu — it’s like Sushi meets Boar’s Head meets Starbucks, with some bakery items thrown in, as well. They offer a variety of breakfast sandwiches on english muffins, or bagels, or croissants; and sandwiches, soups, and salads as lunch type items; and Japanese rice and noodle bowls; and Sushi; and a variety of coffees and smoothies. The Beef Noodle Bowl($ 9.95) is shredded beef cooked with onion, carrot, & sweet potato in a teriyaki sauce, and served over udon noodles. The dominating taste is one of sweetness, and this dish cries out for some spice, some hot sauce, some zip. As served, I would not order this dish again, and for the portion, this is rather overpriced. The Toshi Special Sandwich(about $ 8) was marinated, shredded beef on a bagel, with cucumber, carrot, and onion, in a house chili sauce. This is a decent sandwich, but not a lot to it for the price, and the bagel is not a bread product I care for in a sandwich. Again, an item I felt was overpriced. This is a small place, with little or no ambiance — small tables stuck here and there, with a couch thrown in — there is some outside seating. The folks here are friendly and efficient, but overall this was not an experience I see myself repeating. Our order(Beef Noodle Bowl, Toshi Special Sandwich, throw in some so/so Tater Tots, and 2 fountain drinks) were over $ 23, just way overpriced for those items, in those portion sizes. Did not try any coffee product, smoothie, or Sushi, so I can not speak to them.

This is our favorite little«hidden gem». Eclectic little place in a strip mall that wouldn’t draw your eye unless you knew it was there. Friendly staff and a great mix of varied food genres. The breakfast sandwiches and coffee can’t be beat. What a great way to start the day. Love to come in for sushi for lunch or dinner either to go or to eat-in. Often eat lunch there but they close at 7pm so we’ll get take-out for dinner. Love the rainbow rolls and spicy tuna crunch.

Wow– this is SUCH a cool little café– I hope my review can do it justice! Came in to get takeout sushi on a Groupon– Katie roll, Happy roll, Pink Dragon and Shrimp in the Grass. WOW– they were all delicious! The fried rolls were scrumptious and just ginormous I really enjoyed the rice paper wrap on the other rolls as well. They all had GREAT flavor and texture! Presentation was very nice– I like to eat pretty things! They also have rice bowls which sound very good as well. I concur with the previous review too that i WISH I was closer!!! Now– Toshi’s isn’t just yummy sushi– its a café as well– HUGE coffee selection, teas, smoothies, even CRAZY Japanese sodas! They have baked goods from Spring Garden Bakery as well as breakfast sandwiches, panini, etc. My Hubby has the roast beef/pepperoni panini with the potato croquette as his side and he raved about everything. I was very impressed with Toshi’s. The word must be out because even on NYE there were a lot of people in there having lunch, enjoying coffee and the WiFi. I will be back for sure!!! :) If you are at the mall stop by– it’s only 2 miles or so up the road. CHECKTHEMOUTONFACEBOOK/TWITTER ASWELLFORSPECIALS-10% off catering too :)
