Stopped here on the way Augusta from ATL. Definitely a great little gem off 20.

The best thing about our visit was our waitress Tara who was the sweetest nicest young lady that we ever had the pleasure of meeting. Her voice was so beautiful and the way she described the food on the menu was something I will never forget!!! We got the Buttermilk pie which we all agreed deserved an award!!!

Terrific southern style café with a great menu. Our service was great and all the food was well prepared — a great value. Highly recommend if you make a stop through Greensboro.

So we drove a little out of the way on our way to Atlanta to have lunch here because I read all the amazing reviews about the buttermilk pie. No regrets whatsoever. It was my first time trying or even hearing about buttermilk pie and it totally exceeded my expectations. Warm and sweet with a nice layer on top! The only reason I give 4 stars is because the rest of the food was nothing special and the menu was not very extensive. I had the chicken sandwich and my husband had a salad. They were both fine. But seriously, the pie.

I love locally owned restaurants and prefer them over chain restaurants anytime, and this place did not disappoint. Very friendly atmosphere, great service, and if the shrimp and grits I ordered weren’t the best I’ve ever had, then I can’t remember when I’ve had better. I live in Augusta Ga. but would strongly consider driving my family back to Greensboro just to take them here to eat.

We read so many good things about this restaurant, so maybe my expectations were set a little high, but I would hold back on that fifth star. The restaurant is nice inside and the food is pretty good. I had the Salmon Patties and my husband had the Grouper with Cheese Grits. The salmon patties were a bit thin, but had pretty good flavor. The grouper was cooked perfectly and the cheese grits were good. We also got a piece of the famous buttermilk pie and took it home with us. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, so take this for what it’s worth, but I found it to be a little bit too sweet. Not as savory as I have had in the past from other places. If you like sweet, don’t skip the pie. You’ll like it. I guess I wish there were a wider selection of entrees and there was a bit more flair in the flavor and presentation. Overall, it was a good experience, just not outstanding. Food(flavor/appearance/variety) — 4 Staff — 4 Atmosphere — 5 Cleanliness — 5

This is a «pull off I20» good. It’s a must stop. It’s a little piece of good southern food that you cannot miss. It’s a «plan your road trip around the hours of this restaurant» good. We found this little gem while driving from North Carolina’s Outer Banks to Austin, Texas. It’s only about 3 miles off of I20. Now hold off on any complaints – you won’t want to miss this. It’s in a sweet little historic town with a cute Main Street and shops. Getting my Type A husband to drive 3 miles off of i20 wasn’t an easy task but after his Fish Po Boy and the Buttermilk Pie, he was quite happy. Admittedly we got our lunch to go – you know styrofoam containers, but who cares! My husband was happy and all those in the car as well! I’m a sucker for Fried Green Tomatoes so I ordered the sandwich that came with a tasty horseradish sauce. Slam dunk. Loved it! My youngest daughter ordered the chicken salad sandwich and as I was distributing the food in the car I took a bite – it was excellent! One of those fresh, refreshing kind of sandwiches that can be a hit or miss – it was a hit. Everyone would order exactly what they ordered again. Oh, skip the fries and get the cole slaw – it’s delicious. We would also order 1 piece of Buttermilk Pie per person. So worth the calories. It would be pretty cool to find a place in Austin that makes Buttermilk Pie. I think I have a new epicurean task!

Charming Ambience! I had the Black and Blue Salad — loved it. MY waitress was Kailey, real sweet. Some girl was working there with a broken arm in a pink cast. Try the Black Forest Walnut Chocolate Pie.

Consistently delicious. Great staff and wonderful little downtown restaurant with a range of shopping right down the street. Blue plate specials are all good, portions reasonable, and overall good value. Fried grouper wonderful, trying blackened today. Save room for their renowned buttermilk pie, can be shared as it is Fort Knox rich. A must try, even if your are on I20 and looking for a great food memory.

My family of four had lunch here based on the great reviews. My husband had grouper, Mac n cheese and collard greens. He said it was ok. I had a veggie plate of mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, black eyed peas and collard greens. The veggies were very simple — the black eyed peas were plain and needed more seasoning. There was no likker, just liquid. The same goes for the collard greens. My son got a burger that was charred, bun and burger. My other son got chicken fingers and liked them. The fries were over done and too crispy. The service was pretty slow, especially for drinks.

I was in Greensboro for work and the team I was working with said I had to join them for lunch at this place. I’m so glad I did! Everything on the menu looked good but I decided on the Fried Green Tomato«BLC»(bacon lettuce cheese) sandwich. It was delicious! The buttermilk pie is what this place is known for(thanks to Carrie Underwood), so I decided to bring a whole one home. It’s so good I’m trying not to eat a second piece right now.

Stumbled upon this place on a road trip. Quaint little town and had a great meal. Good southern food all the way around! Fried green tomatoes for starters was very good. Blackened fish poboy, yummy. Both the chocolate pie & the buttermilk pie a must! Friendly service and nice atmosphere!
