The Sub Spot

The sub shops you normally pass in those deteriorating strip malls are a dime a dozen! You think to yourself, why on earth would I ever stop there? Commit to yourself right now, no matter where you’re at, that the next time I’m near Battleground I’m stopping in on the Sub Shop! Yes, it’s not much to look at from the exterior, and the strip is nearly empty, but what’s behind those doors is something to behold! This isn’t your typical sub shop with their dry bread and processed meats. Their sub rolls are made and baked in-​house and it shows in their chewy softness! We ordered their wings as a appetizer and they were just perfect with their crispy skin exterior and juicy interior! I went with the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich on Sourdough, and this sandwich is not only large but incredibly tasty! The sourdough is buttered and toasted on a flattop, loaded with seasoned chicken, crispy bacon, and topped with provolone cheese! I added fresh tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, and of course the ranch! One incredibly well done sandwich indeed! The side of crispy fries were perfection, as well as the sampling of their curly fries! We had their Greek Salad which didn’t disappoint in freshness and size! Other than dirty bathrooms that need attention, this place has a 96 rating and my business for the future!

Had a Classic Ruben, gyro, classic club and turkey Ruben. All were very good, lots of meat, you can choose from a variety of toppings. Fries and hot chips were made to order. This is our new go to sandwich spot.

Best subs in the city. I keep coming back over and over. The food is on a different level than the fast food sub places. Fresh ingredients and fresh bread. I’m sold.

Went here for a salad; they had tons of fresh options! I will definitely be returning!

I love this place! The food is always fresh and delicious, and they deliver. I’m pretty obsessed with their honey mustard. I just wish they were open later on Saturdays (who closes at 5?!) and on Sundays.

Sub spot is fantastic. The name is really deceptive given their greatly diverse and flexible menu. I have dined there and taken food out dozens of times and every time is remarkably fantastic. You can get subs, burgers, wings, cheesecake, and everything in between. If you decide to dine in you will be blessed with the clean and diner like atmosphere and the super friendly staff. I strongly encourage everyone to eat here because the prices are nothing less than fair and worth the great food.

I eat at the Sub Spot usually about once a week on my lunch break, and I really love the variety of sandwiches on their menu. They have something for every taste, whether you are in the mood for a hot meatball parm, a cold club sandwich, a grilled cheese, or even things like Gyros and greek salads… they have it. For a good price.
One thing I especially like on their menu is their «traditional Reuben». I have found is particularly hard to find a good cheap reuben in the triad, and they really deliver. The rye bread is really tasty after they heat it up on the grill, and they put just enough sauerkraut and thousand island dressing on there to compliment the corned beef without drowning it. Pair that up with curly fries and a beverage, and you’ve got a really hearty lunch.

The food was bangin, great sandwich and the employees were great, the owner was super cool and the inside looked great!

Hey. What a kewl spot. It was a little hard to find because the map is wrong. It is behind chick fil a — much bette I must say!!! Folks were friendly and has a nice atmosphere. Good was great. Had a burger and a sub. Yummy.

Overall okay. Had a steak and cheese along with fries. Steak, cheese and bread– all great! Toppings not so great. Much of their toppings don’t look very fresh; especially their overly wilted lettuce. This was right before noon so they definitely didn’t prepare fresh ingredients daily. Would be 3.5 stars overall if I could. Nothing spectacular, but the aged veggies make me knock it down.

I didn’t know what to expect from this place because I had never heard of it before it popped up on my Grub Hub recommendations. I have to say, I am more than impressed. The steak and cheese sub is loaded with steak unlike the skimpy subs you get elsewhere. Perfectly seasoned and the sub roll tasted like it was freshly baked — I don’t *think* it was — but at $ 6, it’s a steal either way. I highly recommend the Jamaican Jerk wings. Although they are not quite as complex in flavor as you’d get at a traditional Caribbean restaurant they are very well executed. Slightly sweet with a spicy kick that lingers on you lips for a few minutes. Add that to the fact that the wings are plump, juicy and fried to perfection and you’ve got a winning combination. Lastly, they beat the Grub Hub expected delivery time by 45 minutes on a Friday night. They’ve made a lifetime customer out of me.

This is my favorite spot to get a sub. Move over subway we are getting a divorce. This place has the best sub in Greensboro. They make fresh bread and the toppings are the freshest. Also the owners are always there so the service is alway top notch. I’ve had just about every hot sandwich they have. They use turkey bacon here in the subs which I think is great.

This place has some seriously amazing fries! If you’ve read any of my reviews on places that have fries, you know I am a fried potato lover like no other. GET THE FRIES! I’ve had several sandwiches and subs and but my favorite is the chicken Philly with grilled onions and melted provolone. Great place to have lunch and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of their ingredients and the amount they give you. Stop in and ORDER THE FRIES!

Simply amazing! The hummus is outstanding, prices are great, and the staff /​owners are very friendly!

Subs sounded spot on one day last week, so why not go to the Sub Spot? The food here is consistently solid, and the service always excellent — markedly better than any of the chains, and right in there with the vast majority of local sub and specialty sandwich restaurants.
They have expanded into the small space beside them, and that area has 12 to 15 small tables. The area is bright and airy, very appealing for a quick lunch, and though we usually get our orders to go, we’ll definitely plan on eating in the new area soon.
We tried the Turkey Avocado Sub with Provolone Cheese, and really enjoyed it — very nice flavor, everything nice & fresh. The Italian Sub was another choice, and as always, it was excellent. The Gyro here is especially nice. The meat is sliced very thin, it is tender, and loaded with flavor.
All the sandwiches are well sized, and the fillings are always plentiful. The Fries here are excellent & shouldn’t be missed.

Skip the subway and head to Sub Spot. They have a wide variety of cold and hot subs, salads, and wings. Also have delicious daily homemade soups. Very generous portions and all freshly made. They just completed renovations and now have a nice large seating area. The owners are super friendly and provide great customer service! They also cater.
My favorites are the Greek salad with chicken and the steak and cheese. My favorite place to get a sub in Greensboro! Check them out!!!

I was pretty excited about this place. I love a good sandwich but like anything that I like, if it’s not on point, then I’m even more picky about it. I ordered a Philly. How hard is that to mess up? Apparently, not very. There was not much in the department of taste and the service size was fair. The price was a bit higher than I would have liked as well.
It’s a small place that is attempting to breka through the sub/​sandwich ceiling and that’s tough to do. I may give this another shot but it won’t be my first choice.

I have been to this place now two times. The first time I ordered a steak sandwich and just thought it was mediocre. I felt like that steak needs to be seasoned better to add more flavor. The concept is much like Subway where you can add the toppings and spreads to make it how you like it. Ironically the second time I ordered the steak sandwich again forgetting that I wasn’t really a fan of it the first time. I think what made up for the sandwich was the small cheesecake bites and the heavily season salted (in a good way) french fries which were both very tasty.
I will say that customer service is on point, the place is clean and they are relatively fast. This place must be doing something right because it is always packed around lunch time. I think I need to try their cold cuts to get on the Sub Spot bandwagon.

Stopped here after a trip to the gym. The menu was hefty, so it took me a minute to decide what I wanted. I finally settled on an Aloha Chicken sub (teriyaki chicken, pineapple, and bacon). I asked for this on white, and was given wheat. No big deal, the bread was amazing. I think I intimidated the poor girl with the amount of vegetables I asked to be put on my sub. She actually had to have someone else close it for her, as she could not handle doing so.
Let me just say, I do not know HOW you can NOT like The Sub Spot. That sub was AMAZING! For $ 5.07 (after tax), that was the best money I’ve spent on a sub in awhile!!!
