It’s Always exciting at the bean. I have gone hundreds of times over the years and this has always been on of my favorite spots in GSO. The thing I love most about it, is, it looks and feels absolutely nothing like starbucks.

I am such a big fan of this coffee shop. On week days it’s a little hard to find free parking, but it’s well worth your time. Their staff is friendly, helpful, and get your orders out to you quickly and effortlessly. It does get a little crowded in here with people studying or working on stuff, but there are plenty of seats inside and outside on their patio. It’s my go to place for their Chai Bomb and any of their lattes! SOGOOD.

Delicious mocha. Definitely a treat! Don’t go out of your way to stop by here, but you won’t regret getting that cup of coffee if you do stop by.

The Green Bean is a nice coffee shop. Its spacious, that allows you to have your own privacy. I have been here for several times because I enjoyed the atmosphere of the shop. Some drinks I have tried were not so special. They are good, but not something I must go for. Today I ordered the Red Symphony which is pretty much thr same as Thai milk tea. Except one thing is they dont use condensed milk, so the drink is not mich creamy and fatty. In general, its a good drink and worth for a try.

God I SO want to like this place, but between the ongoing restroom issues, spotty wifi, and the man snoring and talking loudly in his sleep behind me, I’m done, again.

Woderful lattes, great atmosphere. I’ve never been disappointed! I usually come here when in town to grab a drink and they keep me coming back. Last time I had a lavender latte and it was very good.

I ran into this place while taking a tour of the downtown Greensboro area. It’s a nice little place. A bit overly large and spacious for a coffee shop in my opinion, however I came here at a time when school was not in session, so that might be why it was so empty. There is a lot of seating around, so I did not have a hard time choosing a place to sit, and there was free wifi, which is always great and which made it a worthwhile hangout spot. Finally, the baristas are great, and helpful when asking questions. Unfortunately, their drinks were not very good. Their orange green tea was ok, and it was also cheap as well($ 2, for a large glass). Not too shabby. However I also ordered a chai latte and a hot chocolate. The chai latte had no spiciness to it, and was disappointing. But I thought oh well, at least it was cheap. But then I had the hot chocolate, and found it to not resemble chocolate at all as it was cheap tasting. It was cheap as well. I probably would not come here again unless I really needed to work on something and needed to go to a place that offered wifi access. If you are looking for really good drinks in the meantime, I would try to find something else.

Everything I wanted it to be. 4 of us came into town on a Saturday early afternoon for a good coffee and a place to chat. I got a beautifully executed latte, and the rest of the group got iced americanos and a mocha frappé. The staff was helpful and efficient. The menu had plenty of options from the espresso bar to please anyone. We had a pleasant, uncrowded and comfortable place to sit and hang out over coffee for about a half hour, and drink a high quality and tasty beverage that apparently you can’t find the likes of north of the city. I’d go back definitely next time I am in G-boro.

I ordered a caramel latte and also got a chocolate chip cookie. Latte was pretty good, I actually enjoyed the cookie more than the coffee though. Nice store, atmosphere was quiet for the middle of the day. People were doing work and whatnot. When I’m in Greensboro again I will probably try a different spot next time.

If you like your ice coffee to taste like the shit drippings of an aloof 20-something with a top knot then look no further. Was so bad that I almost asked them for a gift certificate to coffeeology on tate st. If they would spend more time on their coffee and less time on their ambience they might have a decent product. But who the fuck knows cause all the water in greensboro is tainted with mercury.

Fantastik Display Window(Large Stage Seating) is a Cool place to chill! Reminded me of something else! Somewhere else(like it was almost plucked right out of Asheville) and I wish they had better Coffee, though it seems a lot of people ENJOY what I would describe as «Burnt /Bitter»! Next time I’ll get a RED Tea! Cool Place I sent POPROCKLOVE here then brought my eBay Bride… I like this place! Bohemian enough for Jason and Luvy Lu Loo La La and too much for FrenchFryHead BoyMan I’m guessing the Second Stage in the Back is where Bands Play and a Cool place to be seen when a Band is NOT playing

Even though the Green Bean has some good and a few great baristas, I no longer go there because: 1)Their drip coffee is PUTRID, in spite of the fact that they brew Joe Van Gogh, which is solid. Barista-made drinks are good, but sometimes I just want coffee. They need to tweak the brewing temp and improve storage conditions of their coffee before it’s brewed. 2) Clientele. 45% annoying hipster regulars with, like, 25% downtown aging yuppies and 30% pretentious MFA ding-dongs thrown into the mix. This is an unbearable combination to hang around, y’all, even for red espresso. 3) Katie the owner is CRAZY and yells at people for no reason(except CRAZY). THATSAID, if you’re happy with bad drip coffee and are either a yuppie or hipster or you’re in an MFA program, then the Green Bean is probably the spot for you. Masochists may also like this establishment — just ask for the owner.

Reminds me of a beatnik coffee shop where you would find poetry readings and live bands. Well they had a live band playing on this night. A nice off beat place that is more laid back than Starbucks thus less pretentious. However, you will still find Mac and Dell ruling the table tops. The coffee and tea selection is extensive the service is decent and the seating is more than adequate. Fun times can be had at the Green Bean.

One of the best places around… Ditch the Starbucks and stop by for a phenomenal cup o Java, personality, culture and local vibe. I moved up to GB2 months ago and can’t believe I just now stepped into this place. Keeping it simple with a daily brew of Columbia medium roast — remember good coffee doesn’t require cream or sugar… This is the Spot!

I’ve spent many a days and evenings working on my computer here and love the atmosphere and the coffee, I only have one gripe about the place, I wish they served some sort of food, real food, not just slices of cake a few pieces of banana bread or muffins. The number of times I’ve been there and left because I was hungry for something simple, even just a handful of sandwiches would be a wonderful addition. Pretty please, add some food!

Probably the best latte I’ve had in the city, let alone anywhere. I’d put this place up against any coffee shop I frequented when I lived in the Seattle area. I’m fortunate to work down the street from The Green Bean, so I’m here a lot. I’m a purist, though and like my latte w/an additional shot, whole milk, and no flavored syrups. I also like my drip coffee black… so if you’re a ‘tall half-skinny half-1 percent extra hot split quad shot latte with caramel drizzle and whip’ kinda person, this review isn’t for you… They are not the speediest coffee in town(the good ones shouldn’t be), they deliver great joe in an unpretentious, friendly setting. The place is big too, bigger than most any coffee shop I’ve been to, so you’re sure to find a seat if you want to stay and hang. I’m a fan! Keep it up!

Came by just in time to catch Monday night trivia. Ordered the chai bomb as suggested by many other reviewers and it was happiness in a cup. It tastes like dirty pumpkin pie in a cup – in a good way. ;) the art on the walls was fun and if you can make sure you visit the ladies room!

You really can’t go wrong at The Green Bean! Friendly staff, awesome selection of drinks and snacks, as well as plenty of seating. They have the red expresso drinks aka the rooibos tea drinks which I love since I can’t drink caffeine. Its always nice to have options! The chai is also decaf which is a big plus since that is harder to find than one would think. Its super tasty, already sweetened but not too much. The place is huge as far as coffee shops go. You never have to worry about fighting for a table or being on top of people as your trying to get some work done. They also have an outdoor seating area for once the weather gets warmer again.

Apparently, you need to be able to bench 3 times your body weight in order to be able to flush the toilet in the bathroom. Other than that one bizarre-ness, our overall experience was pretty good. Coffee was good. Atmosphere was good, complete with art on the walls by local artists. The muffin that we had was also delicious. It was a little surprising to us that they didn’t open ’til 9am on a Sunday, though. Especially for a coffee place, but perhaps we’re just unfamiliar with the culture at Greensboro and this is perfectly normal for a Sunday.

A coffee place where you go as you are. Everybody there is fancy in its own way which is good. Strong ambiance, and east /west exposition, will get as much as sun possible. I like how every corner of the space as a different personality. Never been on the patio, I should, def a plus. Placed if my fav street of greensboro, easy to reach when you find room in the front parking(tricky end of week). Speaking of the drinks, finally a place where you can get a drink not overcharged with sugar or sugar free sweet which fits better to my european taste. Not to say that you can drink an expresso here(don’t try at starbucks). Price? Lower than starbucks or caribou, you have no excuses to not come. If you want to work, don’t forget to check the planning: I made the mistake to come monday’s evening until I realized that gaming sessions were weekly and not monthly :-} Which is a plus too: social events. Like also the changing exposition of local art stuff on the walls. Add even more to the ambiance and you can feel that this place is def involved in promoting local life.
