Sona MedSpa of Greensboro

Be very weary of this location’s cleaning of equipment and their practice of aesthetic services. This location caused my mother to develop a fungus on her face after the first treatment. They are now refusing to refund her the full amount she has paid for treatments simply because she already underwent two treatments. They also refused to give the number to their corporate headquarters which shows to me they know that they have negligent aesthetic medical practices.

I think they are great but some of the details they don’t inform you about the treatments. They didn’t tell me that last hair removal take time no something you do in a whim. Watch out they will try to upsale you … But you can’t hate them for that. Its their job

This is MY Sona Story …(ok, I couldnt resist — and if you have not seen that SAME commercial that they have had on TV for the past 2 years — you don’t get it)
Anyway, I went to Sona because I have a «sun spot» on my cheek. Basically, it’s a small brown spot that apparently comes from not wearing sun screen on my face. I got (if i remember correctly) 5 chemical peels for around $ 800.
The staff counseled me, and made it clear that there is no guarantee with brown skin, and that if my skin were white — they could lazer the spot away. I was given the impression that the peels should lighten the spot — but again no guarantees.
Chemical peels are a little painful, but nothing like Samantha’s peel on Sex and the City (THANK GOD!). It does sting a little, but the pain is over rather quickly. My skin definately looked refreshed after every peel, but unfortunately the sun spot is still sitting on my cheek — and is no lighter!
The facility is modern, and very spa-​like. They offer a variety of services including weight-​loss, Botox, chemical peels and lazer hair removal. I have only had the peels, though I can’t say that some day I wouldn’t try one of the other services offered.
Marcia is the manager over there, and she is always in a great — happy mood! The ladies doing the peels are super nice also.
I would recommend, however, if you have brown skin… I can not say that I would recommend the peels for any kind of discoloration — only if you want a «refreshed» look.
