Great service, great food, and great prices! The duck panini with duck fat fries was great. I got the Golden Gate which was half a panini and a side. This was a great portion for lunch with tea my total was $ 10 and some change. You cannot beat that type of meal for the price. Just know you might have to wait but it will be worth your time! Once seated food does come out quickly!

Ok, so I’m not buying it! Not at all! So we came by today, a party of four, around 1:30 pm to find it pretty busy for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I felt good about that, and seeing how long I’ve had Melt bookmarked, I was really excited! However, when we walked in nobody greeted us at all. We gradually sashayed near the bar with still no acknowledgment. We finally just grabbed a waitress and asked if we should eat at the bar? We sat at the bar, was brought our water, and immediately ordered the famous Brussel Sprouts! Just like everyone’s pictures, they didn’t look appealing, but I had high hopes! Man was I disappointed, as these were greasy from the frying, and a odd taste possibly due to the burnt nature of some. They were delivered by one of the cooks without any silverware. We sat for nearly three minutes without silverware, watching it die at the bar, in front of our eyes! I ordered the Cuban Ruben with Duck Fries and the special soup of the day, Coconut Curry. The Coconut Curry was good with the slight heat of curry, and the slight sweetness of coconut! It’s extremely rich making it impossible for me to finish a cup serving. The sandwich was done as a panini on sourdough. That alone had my mouth watering! Big disappointment as the sandwich was huge, but all of the meats were extremely tough and unable to bite through them or cut them with a fork! The pickles were extremely crunchy, almost like eating raw cucumbers. The Duck Fat Fries are everything they’re touted to be with a distinct flavor and perfect crispy exterior! Everyone that walked through the door, once we were seated, was just told from the bar to sit where you want! From the tough meats, greasy sprouts, and lack of customer appreciation, I can certainly get all three done much better elsewhere!

This place is AMAZING. Wonderful wait staff that was very kind in recommending the Brussels sprouts as well as current beers, and the sprouts were truly righteous!!! Everything else we ordered was also delicious. Would recommend this place any day!

Fantastic food, huge portions, homemade sauces, great attentive service, DUCKFATFRIES! Need I say more? I had the new buffalo chicken panini. Soooooo good. Lots of meat, very juicy and tender. Not too spicy but has the distinct buffalo flavor everyone recognizes.

What a fabulous little gem in Greensboro! Went here with my partner last night with relatively low expectations, and walked away thinking, wow, what a great place! Nice outdoor seating area that was full, so we sat inside. Décor inside is tasteful. Immediately greeted by the bartender who asked my partner if he’d like a sample of the drafts on tap. He fell in love with the Preyer Caution Hop Coffee IPA. I knew exactly what I was going to get, even before I walked in the door, but there are so many great selections on the menu that make the decision that much harder. I knew I was going to order the Duck Club with the duck fat fries. Partner got the House Roasted Turkey and Brie with Coconut curry soup. Wow, portions are enormous and we’ll be enjoying part deux today for lunch. Fries, amazing, seasoned perfectly and crispy, duck fat panini, amazing, turkey/brie panini, amazing. Soup could have been warmer but the taste/flavor was there. Friendly/helpful staff, great food, we will certainly be back soon to try the other paninis. Job well done!

Went in to melt today for lunch and got my food to go. I ordered the buffalo chicken panini with fries and a coke. Service was very friendly and quick. The food came out quickly and I was on my way. The sandwich was delicious, crisp and hot as usual. The fries were good but not quite as good as they’ve been in the past. Almost like they were under a heat lamp for just a bit. No real complaint though. It was all still good! The price for this order was thirteen dollars and some change. Highly recommend trying melt out!

Really interesting spot with some interesting food in a slightly dilapidated shopping center. After insistence from some friends, I decided to check it out. We tried the steamed bao buns which were really really really good, then split the duck club. The duck club was easily big enough to split. My wife had the curry soup and I had the fries as sides. Finally, we shared an order of the beignets. My main negative critique is that the menu was a little all over the place, but everything was well made and tasty.

The place is small but they are jumping. Awesome food you have to try the duck fat fries. Their panini’s are amazing as well.

Was passing through Greensboro on business and found this gem! I sat at the bar. The staff greeted me right away and told me that I could sit wherever I liked. I sat at the bar and ordered an iced tea along with the Golden Gate, where you can pick any half panini and a side. I chose the BBQ Chicken and the Tomato Pesto Soup. The panini had fantastic flavors and the house made BBQ sauce was AMAZING! Love how nice the staff are. They took interest to ask how my day was and if I lived in the area or was traveling. They offered an iced tea to go, which I was so happy to have for my 3 hour drive! Will definitely be back the next time I am in Greensboro for business. Great lunch spot!

My fiancé and I dined here one night this week and we have to say it deserves 5 stars! The food is spectacular! The pimento cheese jalapeño poppers are divine. The only downside, they were not as hot(temperature) wise as I would have preferred or spicy. But I would order them again. For our meals, we got the black bean burger and the port city which were out of this world for vegetarian options. The duck fries were so crispy and cooked to perfection, I thought I died and went to heaven. The side salad was beautifully displayed and the balsamic vinaigrette had that perfect bite. I cant wait to go back! To finish off our meal, we ordered beignets and they were heavenly. I only wish I got two orders so I didn’t have to share!!! I must say, our server Stephanie was FABULOUS and checked on us multiple times and went above and beyond. She makes the whole Melt experience come together!

I love this place. The chicken BBQ panini is so good; the perfect combination of sweet, spicy, and tangy. The portions are large, so if you’re not too hungry the half sandwich is the way to go.

Stopped in for lunch and enjoyed the Pimento Cheese Poppers appetizer. An enticing starter to my lunch. Who doesn’t like warm, ooey, gooey, melt in your mouth cheese? More importantly, ooey, gooey melt in your mouth pimento cheese? Hello?! These scrumptious, lightly battered, topped with quac jalapeños are delish. Don’t worry… they are not hot. If you do find them to be a little spicy, go ahead and dip ‘em in the herb crema sauce. I did! Ooh, la, la! Enjoy!

My boyfriend and I decided to try out Melt for lunch, because its been a while since we’ve tried something new… We were pleasantly surprised! We decided to order the Duck Fat Fries for an appetizer to share. They were flavorful and crispy. We ordered the creamy herb sauce and the comeback sauce to go with it – the creamy herb was our favorite. My boyfriend tasted hints of Parmesan and dill, I thought it had a pesto flavor; either way it was good. For our mains, he ordered the Cuban Reuben and I ordered the special, Sriracha Chicken Panini, both with the orzo salad as a side. The orzo salad was refreshing and light with flavors of olive oil, onion, bell pepper and feta cheese for salt — we both liked it. We each traded a half of our paninis and took a first bite of the Cuban Reuben. The bread was so nice and crispy crunchy. The sandwich itself was tangy, meaty, and bursting with flavor. The sriracha chicken wasn’t AS good as the Reuben, but was by no means bad. The sriracha wasn’t overpowering, but paired so well with the chicken and provolone cheese. We ordered a beer to go with our meal and enjoyed everything thoroughly. The paninis are also a large portion so we’ve got leftovers for later. Yum!

Omg! The Costello panini is grilled to perfection every time. The spicy pepper spread that is on it just makes it even more fantastic! The tomato pesto soup is fresh and great any time of the day.

Another great lunch at Melt today. The Brussel sprouts were really good. Savory and sweet at the same time and a huge portion. Only ate half between two of us so have lots of leftovers. I had the Golden Gate, half a panini and a side. Chose the Scarlett, basically a steak and chesse with poblanos but so much better than any steak and cheese I’ve had before. The bread is perfectly buttered and toasted which totally makes the sandwich. The herb dipping sauce was a perfect choice with this. Wanted to order a salad as my side but couldn’t resist the duck fat fries. They are indulgent and delicious! My only complaint is that it’s so far home. I would be a regular if it were closer.

Arrived shortly before noon so many tables were open and we were warmly greeted and told to chose where we liked. All the tables were set with menus. Once seated our server came quickly for the drink order. When she promptly returned with our drinks she said she would give us some time to look over the menu. She came back after a few minutes and asked if we had any questions. When we explained that it was our first visit, she described some of the most popular choices. Then asked if we wanted more time or were we ready to order. We then ordered. A good option they offer is a half of a panini and Mary ordered the The Scarlett which is shaved steak with a creamy herb dipping sauce and Duck Fat Fries. I ordered The Cuban Rueben with Russian Dressing dipping sauce also with the fries and a cup of Tomato Basil soup. I asked for the soup to come out early which it did. And the soup was delicious. Of course orders are made-to-order but came out in a very reasonable time. Everything was excellent, but huge. The sourdough bread they used was the best I have tasted in this area and there were plenty of fillings. The fries were really, really good and they were hot. Next time I am going to order the half sandwich size as well, but I finished my like a good boy should. One point of. Confusion, when our paninis were brought they also brought a cup of soup. I explained that I already had the soup and that this wasn’t needed. The server left it anyhow. When our server checked on us she said no problem and asked if we wanted a to go container to take it with us. I said yes and we did with no charge. I am torn between 4&5 stars as everything was excellent but they were not busy. Well I am rating them on today’s visit so it is a 5, and since we plan to return I will try to do it when they have a larger crowd. And with the half panini maybe I’ll have room to try their desserts.

I’ve eaten at Melt several times and it seems to just keep getting better. Today I had the Costello. A panini with capicola, salami, and provolone. It was outstanding! For my side, I had a cup of their fresh gazpacho which was also very good. Melt features a very nice craft beer list. Numerous options in cans and bottles but also five or six(maybe seven?) craft beers on tap. They feature some of our local brews including Foothills and Gibbs and offer a broad range of beer options. Everyone in our party loved the food, beer, and service here.

Really surprised to read some of the negative reviews here, because our visit was superb. Visited for dinner last week and grabbed a table outside on the patio since it was a beautiful night. This may have been our only bad decision the entire visit — Melt is located in the Golden Gate shopping center with Food Lion and next to a nail salon. Not a terribly nice shopping center at that, so you have lots of parking lot traffic and more than a few idiots with loud, ratty cars. I’d grab a table inside next time, I think. Ordered the Baked Fontina to start and it was very tasty. Came in a little melting tray with probably a dozen slices of crispy garlic toast and bacon crumbles on top of the fontina. Just the right amount of cheese to enjoy with all the slices too. For dinner, Kate grabbed the Duck Club and I went with the Crab Melt. Hers consisted of duck confit, gouda, prosciutto and arugula and came with an apricot thyme jam for dipping and she loved it. However, even better than the sandwich was the side of the Med orzo salad. Not sure how they dressed it, but it was very yummy with capers, red pepper and cucumber amidst the orzo. My Crab Melt was outstanding and was composed of a crab salad(should’ve asked if it was house-made, but it tasted like it), cheddar, pickle and tomato with a horseradish tartar sauce for dipping. The panini itself was huge and is probably more than you’ll want to eat. I ordered the duck fat fries as my side and they were crispy and wonderfully seasoned. All in all — this is a great new spot in an average location. Prices are a bit on the high side, but the food makes your trip worthwhile.

I really enjoyed my experience at Melt! Was it cheap for lunch? Definitely not! Was it tasty? Definitely yes! We started off with the Chorizo and Leek spring rolls as an appetizer. These will be replacing the duck spring rolls currently on the menu. They were good had a bit of a kick to them but nothing to crazy, the cilantro crema was delicious to dip the spring rolls in. For my sandwich I went with the crab melt. It was just as I expected and plenty big to have a half left over. The horseradish dipping sauce was a perfect compliment. I think it is neat that each panini comes with a specially paired dipping sauce. The fries were crispy and nicely seasoned. My dining partner got the Granny which she really enjoyed. For dessert we had to get the beignets. How could I pass those up?! They were mini which I was happy with, perfect for sharing. The raspberry dipping sauce as well as the caramel were quite tasty. They reminded me more of doughboys though. Like tasted just like the ones my grandmother use to make(which I loved). What is the difference between doughboys and beignets anyways? I guess in the end they are both fried dough. The place was packed on a Tuesday for lunch so we had to sit at the bar. The waitress was really friendly, I would have just preferred a table for chatting purposes. If you are going for lunch I would recommend going at either 12:30 or 1:30 not right in the middle at 1pm.

There are going to be some folks who like the food served here, really like the food here because it is different from the ordinary, creative & a little exotic even, but if different, creative, & exotic don’t taste good, and are considerably overpriced, then it will not be for everybody, and especially not for me. We tried three items here at lunch, along with a couple of sides, and honestly would not order any of the items again. The Butternut Squash Salad(incredibly overpriced at $ 13) has so little squash(5 small pieces) and dried fig(1 small fig, cut in half) in it as to be laughable, but there is nothing funny about this salad, at this price. The Granny($ 12) followed in the same footsteps — relatively little filling(2 very, very thin slices of Granny Smith apple, tiny amount of bacon & onion jam, same with the spinach. Even what was there did not produce great taste combination. The Burger($ 11) was very ordinary, and on the small side. The Duck Fries had a decent flavor, but were wrapped in tinfoil for take out, ensure that they would quickly be limp and soggy. The Orzo Salad was just ok, the predominant flavors being from the large amount of dill & the strong red onion. The 3 items, with a tip included was over $ 40, pricey for lunch by almost any standard, but especially so in this case because of the lack of quality and quantity. As I mentioned, there is not a one of the 5 different items we tried that we’d order again.
