A really great breakfast. Their biscuits are perfect, but get the gravy with sausage for more flavor. The hash browns and sausage are my favorite though, obviously homemade and not frozen, making a meal here a cut above the rest.

If anyone loves a good olé local diner then Danny’s is your place. I suggest avoiding peak times given the restaurant is always packed around breakfast and lunch hours. The food is nothing special just charming southern cuisine. The staff is friendly and works very hard to make sure you are taken care of and get your food efficiently and quickly. I had a waffle with homefrys and bacon. The waffle was fluffy and warm, the bacon was perfectly cooked to a sizzling slice of flavor, lastly the homefrys which where difficult to eat because they where so greasy and lubricated they slid all over my plate. We went around 11:30 and we ate at the bar because all the tables where full of family’s dining, laughing, and enjoying their brunch. I did not notice any issues with hygiene or cleanliness which always makes me want to go back. I also recommend you bring cash given they do not take credit cards. All in all Danny’s is nothing glamorous or fancy but they serve good food at hard to beat prices.

Awesome place ! Great food at reasonable prices. Tenderloin breakfast special is the best in town! Wait staff is wonderful, they are friendly, call you by name(if they know you) and will remember your drink of choice once you become a regular. Danny has been in the restaurant biz for many years, knows how to prepare food. I recommend this place for breakfast and lunch items — especially the Country style chicken and beef stew specials on Thursdays.

Danny’s is one of our favorite breakfast spots because the food is always cooked perfectly & the value is undeniable. But once in awhile we’ll pop in for an early lunch(it gets crazy at peak times), which we did last week. We tried the Country Style Steak with Fried Okra & Steamed Cabbage, and Chicken Pot Pie with Pintos & a nice Garden Salad with Blue Cheese. Each plate came with a choice of bread, ours being biscuit and cornbread. As usual, everything was very, very nice, though the Chicken Pot Pie is not freshly made in house, or if it is previously frozen veggies are used. The dish is still tasty, well seasoned and well sized. Each entrée comes with 2 sides and bread for $ 5.75, a real value.

Secret breakfast spot only certain folks know about. It’s delicious & always on point. Danny can be tough to deal with sometimes but he’s the best. Don’t like it leave, go to Bojangles.

After eating at Dannys a couple of times a week for 5 years, I have had my last meal there. I always sat at the lunch counter and have witnessed Danny and his wife Maria treat the wait staff very poorly on multiple occasions. The waitress’ are hard working ladies that ALWAYS provide excellent service and should not be treated like they are stupid or less than human. However, that is not the only reason that I will not return. After having lunch with a friend, I gave Danny a $ 20 to cover my $ 6 lunch. He gave me $ 4 in change not $ 14! When I brought it to his attention, Danny responded with«I don’t play that»!?! Play what? He refused to give me the rest of my change so I left the restaurant. I have no idea why a man who brags about his success would be willing to lose a customer that spends $ 600-$ 1000 a year over $ 10. Short sighted, I would say. Furthermore, if you do go there make sure that you have cash or a check because they don’t take credit or debit cards. It would be interesting to see his tax returns. Have a great day Danny!

Danny’s Special Omelet is nice. The biscuits are delicious, but the gravy leaves plenty to be desired. It is not sausage gravy and tastes simply of flour. Hash browns and coffee, as simple as they may seem, are done well also. Prices are cheap and service is very attentive even when packed.

Finally got to make it there for breakfast on a Saturday. Place was packed and rightly so. Great food prepared just right in decent portions. Biscuits are terrific. Kept coffee refills coming which is sometimes hard to find. Only bad thing I can say is they’re closed on Sundays. Our loss! Highly recommend Danny’s. Will have to try lunch next.

Danny’s is a great place for breakfast. I can’t speak to their lunch menu as I’ve only eaten breakfast here, but I expect lunch to be good Southern comfort food. Breakfast is pretty standard fare done well: eggs, omlettes, grits, pancakes, bacon, sausage, etc. Good food, good prices, fast service, and plenty of coffee refills when your mug is half empty. They do a brisk breakfast business and Danny keeps the tables turning. If you go on Saturday morning, I suggest arriving by 8:45 or be prepared for a short wait. They only take cash.

Danny’s Restaurant is always reasonably priced and offers home cooked meals. It is a real joy to eat there! The only negative thing about the restaurant is that they only take cash! Be prepared if you are going to eat there. No credit cards accepted! Great food!

Great place to eat. I have been asking Danny to open for dinner for years but with a rolled eye! The food is always just right and the prices are decent… best in Greensboro. If you do linger to talk or shoot the bull you will be asked to leave especially if someone is waiting to be seated. I see both sides of this and appreciate it even further. Great biscuits!!! Great Greek Chicken!!! Homemade Thousand Island Salad Dressing is superb! The tzatziki sauce is right on!!! Great place to eat any given day… specials everyday. Oh… the spaghetti is excellent!!!

My FAVORITE breakfast spot! Good food. Low prices. Danny’s is not the place to mull over life on a Saturday morning. There are people waiting for a table. Danny will ask you to move along. If you are looking for a lazy meal this is not your place. But if you’re looking for fast paced good southern cooking with a touch of Greek Danny’s is the best spot in town!

Over all I say the Prices were good and the food was Great! I was Greeted at the door by the wait staff and was told to sit anywhere, so my girlfriend and I sat in a booth next to the register. I had gotten the Danny’s omelette and replaced the feta cheese with american and biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage patties to make sausage gravy(was doing the two hour test with my girlfriend and we both were starving), and my girlfriend had gotten the country fried steak with collared Greens… Other then I don’t think the veggies, in the omelet, were fresh, everything was cooked well. The biscuits we took home and ate(my girlfriend wants the recipe) My girlfriends country fried steak and collared greens were fantastic! the steak was tender and fell apart with a fork. As a New Yorker, I love collared Greens but have had some that were not so great… but this was really really good! It was so good we could not stop eating, with are bellies over full, the portions were great! We even had some biscuits for a quick snack the next day! I will return. The only complaint I have is, there hours of business is kind of weird and they are not open on Sundays. I’m guess religious purposes, but if they were, I wouldn’t go the Jens dinner with my girlfriend on are guaranteed day off together. Over all I say the Prices were good and the food was Great!

Best biscuit in Greensboro. Hands down. For real, delish even refrigerated a few days later. Just took best breakfast, in Greensboro, from Smith Street. No joke. I also really appreciate the only cash accepted thing.

Ate here for breakfast 3 days in a row while unpacking at my nearby apartment. Mom and I enjoyed perfectly cooked eggs and crispy bacon everyday, along with a very generous and delish biscuit. The service was quick, efficient, and very friendly. The place was packed every morning I went, all at different times. Definitely a go to place for either a quick breakfast or to sit and talk with friends for awhile. One day I noticed they had a chocolate cream pie, and feeling nostalgic for the pie my father made when I was young — I got a large piece(yes, I ate it for breakfast!). It was amazing and a very close 2nd to the pie of my childhood memories.

My boyfriend and I ate here a few days ago. It’s a very small hole in the wall place. You don’t find many places like this in Greensboro. I loved every bit of it! The place was mostly full, and the waitresses were very nice and attentive. They only take cash or check, and I recommend the roast beef with gravy and mashed potatoes.

While only a few blocks from home, we will not return. On a Saturday morning, there were just 4 people waiting for a table. Food and service were just average. At the table next to us there was a city police woman and a friend. While I was finishing my coffee the owner came to the next table and told the office that he needed their table — if they were done, they could talk outside. A city officer that cruised this neighborhood area and would be a great asset to Danny’s. But treated like bums who wanted to laugh and share that final cup of coffee. As we all went to the sidewalk we shared this horrible treatment, and 7 people decided to never go back. We eat breakfast out every Saturday, so Danny’s lost a lot of money from just the 2 of us, let alone the word spreading in the police dept. RUDE on a regular basis gives you just indifferent customers. Don’t go here!
