DJ’s is a small shop but very easy to access from 74th and has a private lot. The many windows allow in plenty of light and their displays are not too tight so there are no worries about knocking anything over! There are many unique pieces here and I always see something that I own, my folks have in their basement or my grandmother had in her house. My family are hoarders! The one thing I found truly unique here was that each week an item(or most items) doesn’t sell, the price lowers. You will see tags with dates and prices. The longer it lingers, the cheaper it’ll be. This is such a fun gamble because you can buy it now, or pop in later and see if it’s still available at the price you’d like. I took a star away because they allow people to sell items that aren’t antique. I saw some truck lights, wrenches and baking dishes that are from the last 10 to 15 years. Perhaps my definition is wrong, but if you can still go to Target and Farm & Fleet to buy a particular item, it’s not an antique.

Just happened to be passing and stopped in. It was like walking into my grandparents house when I was a little kid. So many things they or we used to have. They had a hanging print that read«Your grandparents used it, your parents tossed it, you bought it». Sums it up exactly. It was a nice little trip down memory lane and will stop in again I’m sure.

This place is antique consignment. It is truly amazing, and extremely fun! It’s a small shop, but the owner is very selective about what he puts on the sales floor and it is all awesome. They have a huge vintage toy collection. There is jewelry and dishes, statues, pictures, ash trays, post cards, cheesy seasonal decorations, such as the ugly elf looking Santa Clauses from the 1950’s, etc. They also have hats and books and furniture. Compared to the antique mall in the 3rd ward, this one is really cheap. The owners are really nice to do business with.
