My wife and I went to a class as the shooting academy about a month ago. The information seemed good and accurate at the time. The instructors were helpful and funny for the most part — minus the one guy that had a bit of an attitude(not unfriendly, just not becoming and a bit rude). The problem came yesterday when my wife and I went to the DMV with their paper in hand to get some things done. Much to our disappointment, we were unable to complete our business there. Why? That is a good question — the paper supplied by the Shooting academy was innacurate as to what was needed by the DMV. When we arrived, the DMV representative told us they needed a passport/birth certificate AND our drivers licenses. The paper supplied from Guns and Leather Shooting Academy said we needed one or the other. I had my passport and my wife brought her drivers license as per the instructions. While this doesn’t seem like a big deal(past a wasted 30 min drive to the DMV office) it is in reality a very serious problem. Why would I say that? The Shooting Academy is giving information out during the class, answering questions, and telling people advise. People are relying on that information for self defense which makes it life and death information. Which is very serious in my opinion. So, if their written instructions are wrong as per the DMV in Springfield, what else could be wrong? What other information was inaccurate that could have devastating consequences? My wife and I have since read the TN state laws to make sure we have the most accurate information and not rely on what we heard there. I would not recommend a friend or family member to go there based on my and my wife’s personal experience of the class and what we found out yesterday at the DMV.
