Lois Levine, MD

Dr. Levine has retired. Best wishes to her, she deserves it :)

Some years ago I had a breast lump and asked Dr. Levine about it on several occasions. She told me it was nothing — what I wanted to hear.
After a couple of years I began seeing a new internist who noticed that I had swollen lymph nodes under my armpits. Dr. Levine still thought it was nothing but sent me to a surgeon (finally). It turned out that I had stage 3 breast cancer with 14 of 17 lymph nodes cancerous. After chemo and radiation, I am lucky to be alive in spite of her poor diagnosis.

I heard great things about Dr. Levine and having a family history with a rare thyroid disease I was looking for an OB/​Gyn who is also an Endocrinologist. However, when I called her receptionist was the most rude and unhelpful person ever. She told me that Dr. Levine doesn’t accept new patients anymore (which I understand, the receptionist said that she is getting ready to retire). When asking if they could make a recommendation for another Gyn/​Endocrinologist the receptionist was unfriendly, rude and just hang up on me!!! That women seriously needs another job!!!

Dr Levine has been my GYN for over 15 years. She used to be a fabulous doctor who really went the extra mile for her patients — but in the last few years, it just doesn’t feel the same. She usually runs *very* late — but, most importantly, just doesn’t give me the level of patient care I want (and used to get from her). Her office says they will get back to you with test results but they don’t. When getting some rather serious test results back, I was told three different and contradictory things by Dr Levine, her front desk person, and her nurse. When trying to talk with them all about it, they made me feel like I was in the wrong somehow. Her nurse Syndey has blown me off for having medical concerns and asking to be seen. All in all, Dr Levine was my favorite doctor, and now I’m looking for a new GYN.

I would give Dr. Levine 10 stars if I could. She is the most fabulous ob/​gyn there is an I will never go anywhere else. She is extremely knowledgeable and kind. Just talking to her, you know you are in good hands. After I told her I had been in the hospital, she told me she wished I would have told her because she would have visited me in the hospital – and I don’t even see her that often! Highly, highly recommend.

oh how i love lois levine. i never knew a pelvic could be fun… ok well not *fun* per-​say, but lois is the most kind and patient doctor i’ve ever met, and bonus, she has a great sense of humor. her credentials are impeccable and she’s had tons more experience than most. she’s so popular she doesn’t always take new patients, but it’s worth calling because she’s the best obgyn there is.
