Although I’ve shopped here for over 9 years as a long time Greenbelt resident, I’ve always felt that the owner could use a few lessons in politeness. But today, as I went in to buy my two Powerball tickets, handing him the numbers I wanted to play, he paid no attention to me and rang up 2 random tickets instead, even as I was trying to hand in my numbers. As I saw him trying to ring them up I already was correcting him, waving the paper more vigorously in his face, but he just kept going until he had rung up the two numbers that I did not want and clearly was not asking for. He then took my numbers sheet, but first proceeded to yell at ME loudly in front of everyone in the store for HIS mistake, scolding me that«Next time show me that first, I can’t return that!»(Not that it mattered since he wasn’t paying attention when I did in fact do that this time). I got so mad I fired right back at him, snatched my numbers back out of his hand started to walk out with the soda, forgetting it was even in my hand as I gave him the same attitude right back, which kind of sucked because I had to go back into the store after I gave the guy a piece of my mind, in order to put it back in the fridge. I guess I should’ve seen this coming, considering how many other customers I’ve seen him argue with when he gives them the wrong change(while I’ve been standing there waiting to buy something; on a few such occasions I just walked out, not wanting to waste more time), and how many times I’ve been eating outside at the patio, and that same guy came out right next to us and decided to smoke his cigarette just a few feet away from us while we were eating. The guy just doesn’t care about anyone but himself and his own convenience. Clearly this place stays in business because of it’s convenient location and nothing more. They certainly won’t be getting any more of my business ever again. I suggest making this your last resort for anything you may need. If you need lottery tickets, go to Greenbelt BP; Need food or candy, I suggest you go across Centerway to the Co-op supermarket or to CVS at Greenway shopping center, especially since the Minimart is one of the few remaining places that still tries to force you to make a minimum credit card purchase.
