Awesome food. Its just like grandma’s. I can say that cause my grandma doesn’t use the internet. Really the food is great. Not that much business so you will get served promptly. The sweet tea is delicious, the homemade desserts are to die for. I could continue but I would be typing all night. I have not had any southern food in Wisconsin(including my own cooking) that was as good as this. A definite stop if you want southern food.

Cat and Jim’s used to be a couple of blocks west, and my brother and I went often. I even had one of their t-shirts. They closed down for a couple years, and I missed them. They’re back, with a limited menu and hours for now but big plans. They’re only open a couple of weekends in April, but should have normal hours in May. Right now the place is clearly the bar it once was, but changes are coming. Service was slow on their first day, but they’ll get back in the swing of things. Sweetie and I shared a large rib tips, some greens, and mac and cheese. The rib tips were very good– meaty, full of flavor, a bit more sauce than I like but it’s a good, tangy sauce. The greens were great– collards I think, with some pork(you have to have meat in your veggies!) The mac and cheese was just okay. Once they get going I’m sure the menu will be bigger. Can’t wait to check back.
