Bay View Family Restaurant

This is a hidden gem. I went here for lunch Friday and was really pleasantly surprised. This is a true diner. The meals have huge portions and the quality is rather good as well. I wanted a sandwich (reuben) but I did not want the fries and soup that came with it. I just wanted the soup. The waitress was kind and let me remove the fries from my order for a discount. I also got a cappuccino that was creamy and had real whip cream. I recommend you stop in.

Newly renovated. Clean and bright dining area. Server (Lisa) was very friendly and helpful. Food was served hot and in generous portions. Prices were very reasonable.
This is a family owned restaurant, not some five star gourmet place. It’s comfort food in a comfortable setting. Their menu is obviously too extensive to have everything made from scratch, but the food they do serve is decent. I was in a party of six and everyone was more than satisfied.
This was my first time visiting Bay View but I saw no reason not to return. There were more tables filled with guests than there were empty tables. Everyone seemed satisfied.

We went to get some dinner at Bay View Family Restaurant the other day and we were less than pleased with the food. This place has changed hands many times over the past few years and when we saw that a family style restaurant had moved in, we were pleased. That was until we got our food, I had ordered meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy and on the side was a bowl of mixed vegetables, my Husband had the Gyro and it came with fries. Oh and I should add that with my dinner I also had a choice of rice pudding or a scoop of ice cream.
It was dinner time on a Saturday evening and there was only about 4 other people in the restaurant, the servers were nice and the place was clean but, the food was not good at all. The meatloaf was mostly filler, like bread or something, the mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes and the vegetables were so mushy I just couldn’t even eat them. The gravy was not homemade, it had that industrial taste to it. I took a couple of bites and that was it, the server never even asked me if something was wrong with my food, she just asked if I wanted a to go box… I skipped the ice cream.
They have a board in front saying, homemade specials of the day, I don’t think it’s really homemade. I think it’s boxed and canned food and they just say that it’s homemade. We will not be going back there, once was enough…

Great place for traditional family style food. Fish was as good as any fish fry in town. And you get ice cream with the price of the dinner! Delightful touch!
