Food is good with decent portions. The ambience gives it the 4th star. The back patio is pleasant and the indoor décor is inviting. The strip mall that it’s in is misleading as to how upscale it is. The bread pudding dessert was great. Would visit again.

BRX(aka Brix) is a solid bet with a nice-enough outside patio and good food. It’s pricey for what you get, though the excellent service may appeal to the generally wealthy Great Falls clientele. Even the kids meals range from $ 7 to $ 14. $ 7 for a hot dog? Some items: Burger — quite good. Not as good as Counter Burger or some specialty burgers. Petit Fillet — ok. Reasonable flavor. Fries — they were battered, which is not my think. I think of that as lower-end and too greasy. Sweet Potato Fries — quite good, not battered, waffle-cut. Portobello Mushroom sandwich. My wife said it was very good. It has a variety of ingredients/colors, so was not a simple hunk of mushroom on a bun Pinot Noir(house). Very drinkable, but no depth. Cabernet(house). Exactly the same. Drinkable but mostly inoffensive. Overall, BRX has a ver conservative menu(steak, burgers, crabcake, chicken piccata, ahi tuna, volcano lava cake — crowd favorites all) that is well executed. Unfortunately the only part that makes you step back and say«Wow! I did not expect that!» is the prices, which are consistently $ 5 more than it seems they should be.(crab cakes $ 28, BBQ ribs $ 24, Tuna appetizer $ 14, entrée salads $ 15 – 18). The patio outside is pretty nice — with a grape arbor. The flat concrete patio blocks are less fancy. Service, however was excellent. Attentive, fast, polite, friendly. Parking is easy, so that’s a plus. I don’t think I’ll be back often, because better food at a lower price is available elsewhere.

BRX has been on the list of places to try for awhile, but it has always fallen to second or third place on the list of alternatives. Finally, tonight, something on the website twigged me, and we decided that dammit tonight was it. Wife had the Brie appetizer and moaned it was so good. Kid had the fry trio and loved it. I admit to having some of both and enjoying them. I had the jerk chicken spring rolls, and while they were good, I would have liked more of a hit of spice. Wife had the chicken piccata, and loved it. I was going to get that until the veal ravioli caught my eye. Wife did not share, but the ravioli was very good. Kid had a Louisiana pasta, and let me have a couple of bites — that stuff was good. I’m not much of a dessert guy. I’m trying to lose a few, and I don’t usually want to waste the calories on sweets, but Wife was really excited about the Oreo tart. So, okay… coffee and bread pudding, I guess. Holy shit… that banana bread pudding is wonderful! Deeelllliiiishus! Wife like her thing, too, but whatever. Mine was better. My coffee was darn good, too. Kid was too full for dessert. She is wise. I left this place feeling somewhere between gluttonously happy and self-loathing. Service was great! Our server was on point, and it seemed to me that all of the staff was, and I noticed a couple of them helping each other, and I always like to see that. Anyway, the is a local gem, and I think it will go into heavy rotation. Great meal — wish we had tried it sooner.

Really, 3 ½ stars, but Unilocal doesn’t allow half stars, and I don’t think I can warrant a full four. I enjoyed BRX enough that I would come back sometime, but mostly it seemed like the stereotypical thing you’d expect to find leading into Great Falls — very self-important and overpriced for what it is. I guess the first sign should’ve been walking into the restaurant and getting a snooty, «Do you have reservations?» from the hostess. FORWHAT? THEREARETHREEOTHERPEOPLEINTHISENTIREHUGERESTAURANT. CALMDOWN, HOSTESS. It was a little weird to find that some of the things listed in the online menu weren’t on the menu in the restaurant. It also seemed a little ridiculous to have $ 30 – 40 entrees for the so-so quality of food and the amount you get. I get the feeling this place is more wine bar than restaurant. However, the service was absolutely excellent, and the food was pretty good. I had the falafel burger, which could’ve used a little more Mediterranean spice and a bit more crunch. But it was pretty good overall, and they have those awesome fries with the crispies on them. The crab cakes were almost all crab, though small. The vegetables looked kind of unappealing and not super fresh. The foccacia bread was the perfect amount of crispy and doughy, and warm. Overall, I feel like maybe if I come here again it would be for lunch to grab a sandwich or something. Just felt like they were trying to be something they aren’t otherwise.

I think every neighborhood should be privileged to have a neighborhood restaurant like Brix… family friendly, open and inviting, excellent kitchen, relaxed casual atmosphere, interesting wine list. Don’t miss the filet meatballs on Wednesday nights! And, just like Cheers, everybody knows your name…

I was there on Saturday evening. The restaurant may look like nothing from outside, but when you walk inside, it feels like you just walked into one of the most beautiful decors I’ve seen in a restaurant. The food is great, especially the almond crusted Brie. I am looking forward to my next meal here. The service was amazing and Jackie was very great to me and my family. My mom loved the cream of mushroom soup.

Brx is not only a neighborhood gem where«everyone knows your name», it is fit for foodies and the wine and bar list is extensive. The chef does a terrific job of keeping the menu fresh and varied. A sign of a good restaurant is the quality of the staff. The waiters and barkeepers are knowledgeable, friendly and delightful. In addition, Ashwani is very generous with local fundraisers and gives a lot back to the community. I am very selective about my restaurants and Brx consistently delivers high quality food and customer service.

Not a good place for a quiet dinner. Brix is an expensive Arby’s where parents bring kids in soccer shorts and let them roam free while gulping $ 12 glasses of wine and overpriced entrees. Staff responds to feedback with a shrug, service is slow, and management nowhere in sight. For better food at half the price, try the skewer or pizza places next door.

If possible, rating would be 3−½ but rounding it up to 4. BRX is out of the way for us but we were trying a deal coupon. The place was nicely decorated and service was good. Not crowded on a Saturday evening. Menu prices are on the high side. The steak salad was quite good with fresh spinach and very tender meat. The special soft shell crabs were a tad salty and pricey at $ 34 but veggies quite good. They automatically added 20% for the tip although it was not stated on the coupon, but we felt that was right for the service we got. An enjoyable dinner and we’ll try BRX again.

Build you own burger, black bean soup, Greek omlette and pancakes received thumbs ups! We chose to mix lunch and brunch items. We had good service and it was conveniently located to Great Falls Park. On the weekend there were no other stores open so parking was a breeze.

Very warm and pleasant atmosphere! The staff is very friendly! I enjoyed the food here as well as the bar area. A nice hidden gem right off of route 7. There is even a nice patio in the back that is enjoyable during the warmer months.

I tried the veal ravioli bolognese and it was okay, but nothing spectacular. I’ve had better, and the thing was, the price didn’t line up with the flavor. Between the entrée and one glass of wine, my bill was almost $ 40. I wonder if this place maybe has increased their prices with the new metro station nearby? But, the wait staff was great, the ambiance is enjoyable, and my friends really enjoyed their chicken picatta and chicken sandwich, so, if you are in the area and are hungry, give this place a try.

Recently I had a decent lunch here with a friend. I ordered the homemade cream of mushroom soup which was outstanding, followed by a tasty steak sandwich on a crunchy roll. Served with french fries it was described as a French dip, but I found the sauce on the side too heavy and salty. It was a good enough meal for the price, in a very lovely but rather empty room.(Shared the sandwich BTW).

This place feels like home – with a broader menu, a great wine list, and no dishes to wash! If more people knew about how great this little neighborhood bistro was, I wouldn’t be able to get a reservation! Step through the unassuming glass door of an ordinary-looking shopping center and you’ll find a lovely, welcoming ambience created from exposed stone, stainless, rich wood and a genuine warmth from the staff. Once inside, expect attentive and friendly staff who anticipate almost every need without cloying or hovering. The wine list from small, boutique wineries is extensive – especially for wine locker holders– and the sommelier is ever present to chat about her newest discoveries or make a recommendation best suited to your meal and personal preferences. The kitchen staff is happy to accommodate your special requests and alterations to the menu offerings are welcome.(I always get the mushroom risotto if it is available no matter what protein I choose and they are always pleasant and flexible!) Ash, the executive chef and owner, will likely greet you before your meal’s end to inquire about your experience and make you feel most welcome. The menu is provocative and encompasses a broad variety of cuisines made from fresh ingredients. His daily specials are fun and creative, and have included inspiring Cajun-Creole(Mardi Gras) fare, lovely seasonal ingredients(the best mushroom soup I’ve had in ages), and a flair of adventure(a melding of flavors from any of his extensive experiences throughout the Middle East, Caribbean, Indian, and US). Although BRX is a self-titled«American Bistro», it feels like a more international palate, bring together the disparate elements that make our«American» patchwork cuisine so rich and varied. Individual dishes are beautifully and artistically presented while portions are in generous proportion. If I do not share with my dining companion I end up taking home enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Some of my favorite offerings are the delicious ribs, filet mignon, jerk chicken, Louisianna Penne pasta, and the Thai shrimp appetizer. I recommend visiting on Tuesday night, as it is ½ price bottle night!

I want to like brx. I really do. It’s close to my work and convenient but it’s just not that good. The décor is beautiful and the wine list extensive but service, while friendly, is always slow. Who has time for 2 hour weekday lunches? They are also kind of pretentious about the food and well, it’s just not that good. The jerk spring rolls are like any southwest spring roll at any chain restaurant. The burgers are just meh. Every main course ive had has been bland and underseasoned. The salads are good but nothing special and it’s all kind of overpriced. I wish management would spend more time on developing outstanding dishes and less time on the bar and décor… maybe they wouldn’t need to run so many groupon specials if they did. The two things I’ve had that are good are the French dip and the fries. But if you’re going to offer yourself as fine dining… the best food shouldn’t be a sandwich and fries
