I’m not a big Unilocaler but I had to hop on line to give Domaney’s 5 stars. EXCELLENT service, REALLY knowledgeable staff — just a perfect shopping experience. I don’t think they could have been any nicer or more helpful. It was my first visit but certainly won’t be my last.

A true gem and to call it a liquor store is a gross misstatement. Ed and his staff have it all. Not only the best selection of wine and beer around, but a passion and knowledge to direct you to the right one for you. From the top down, every member of the staff is eager to please.

Our go to wine/beer/liquor shop in the Berks. my good friend and fellow Unilocaler Vicki F. from Texas is correct… they are delightful and have quite a following. always have a moment for some conversation or to ask how you are doing. Family owned and always present, patriarch Ed is eager to help you find whatever it is you are craving. prepared picnic snacks that are perfect for Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow or hiking. Amazing beer selection, impressive large bottles from the local breweries. They also sell this homemade jerky at the register in a bunch of flavors that people go crazy for and is often sold out as soon as it is put out. Great prices too.

Phenomenal liquor store. The craft beer selection is excellent. So many choices. There is an espresso stout there that is to die for.(I may go back later and grab another bottle). I am a cigar smoker and am in town for business. I was relieved to find out Domaney’s has a small selection of premium cigars. The humidor actually seems to work well! They have a few petite corona Cohibas, a few Romeo y Julieta’s etc. Not the biggest selection but enough to satisfy a true cigar smoker. The fella that helped me at the counter is very nice, and willing to help out in any way, and gave me a great deal on some smokes. Lots of cheeses, wines, beer etc. You cannot go wrong at Domaney’s, they have it all. Great staff and location. A+ all the way.

Domaney’s is one of the best liquor stores in the whole wide world! Besides carrying a great selection of liquor, wine and beer, Ed and his son Joey and staff are incrediblly friendly and helpful. They know their stuff. My husband and I go out of our way to shop at Domaney’s because we find great wine, terrific value and polite, knowledgeable people to help us.

If I could give Domaney’s 1,000 stars, I would. We were referred to Domaney’s by another couple who got married in the area and had a great experience using them for their wedding reception bar. From my first contact with Jordan at Domaney’s to our first tasting, I have felt nothing but the utter joy and passion he has for his job. He had us wait to do the tasting until his annual California vineyard visit(which he showed us photos of, excitedly pointing out which farms have special terroir such as their lavender plants). We had a wonderful tasting of nearly a dozen very special(all affordable) wines, and because the groom is Spanish, Jordan helped us find great deals on Cava for the toast and a rare breed of Rioja that will surprise even the most jaded Catalonian guests. In addition we are doing signature cocktails and he hooked us up with the Berkshire Mt. Distillers for gin, vodka, and bourbon. Everything we tasted we took home to sample chilled and mixed with food later(a terrible job, I gotta say). It all got rave reviews and the Ice Glen Vodka vanished in a matter of hours. Maybe less. Jordan really makes US feel better about the biggest party we will ever host! Do not mess around – go here for everything. Every soul in this shop is a sweetheart. Oh, and the cheese selection rules, too.

This place is a go. Do not buy beer, wine or gourmet items from any other vendor in GB(especially not Plaza Package.) Domaney’s has a homey feel and a friendly staff. They are not overly expensive, and carry a great array of microbrews which you can buy as six packs or cases. A true local gem, Domaney’s blows the competition out of the water with humility.

A very decent booze boutique on the end of Main Street. They should have what you’re looking for. Very nice craft beer selection.

Ed and his team are the most knowledgable staff I have ever shopped with. For years I have shopped at Domaney’s for wine and spirits. Ed is the best and has always provided an experts palate to my purchase. Great wine selection at any price point. No wonder a bottle of red at 12 dollars tastes like a 20+ dollar bottle, they know what to buy. No tax in Mass on wine is the added kicker to making any purchase better.

A large and great selection of beer, wine and liquor. Many local and craft products. Prices were not too bad for small town. Staff is willing to help look for products and make suggestions.

If there’s one thing that’s taken seriously in my family, it’s booze. I wanted to hitch a ride home with my uncle after Thanksgiving. and he was a little annoyed because he wouldn’t have enough room in the car to stop at Domaney’s. I was a bit confused because at first I just assumed Domaney was one of his friends… and I was right. This is my uncle’s friend who happens to stock a huge selection of liquor.* I’m pretty sure both he and my dad stop off here whenever they have a chance to buy CASES of booze,** because it’s just so much more affordable than it is in NY, especially since MA has no tax on liquor. A handle of Tito’s Handmade Vodka is $ 26 here, and I think it works out to a few dollars less when you buy it by the case. I’m not great at math, but if those bottles cost me $ 33/handle in Brooklyn, that’s a good deal. The staff is extremely friendly, knows their stock, and were almost apologetic about carding me on account of my baby face. AND they’ve got tons of cheese. Cheese and booze? Are there two more wonderful things in this world? ___________ *Some might say his best friend. **They aren’t drinking cases of booze every year(to my knowledge), I just think they like to be prepared. I once asked my uncle why there was bottles of liquor covering every inch underneath his ping-pong table. He said, «What if there’s a storm?»

I love all liquor stores. There is so much possibility inside of every single one. Should I drink gin and break things? Should I drink beer and go into a distended belly coma? Should I just be awesome and drink vodka? This liquor store takes it up a notch. They sell cheese. DELICIOUS cheeses. They also sell children’s toys. Bam. 5 stars. No brainer.

Domaney’s is a mom and pop(plus grandma and son) shop with the most friendly, genuine, and knowledgeable staff, conveniently located in picturesque Great Barrington, in the beautiful Berkshires of MA. If you’re a local, you already know the place and shop there regularly for all your imbibing needs. If you’re just visiting or passing through town on your way to the Norman Rockwell museum, going to a show at Mahaiwe, or just around to enjoy some of the great local food/culture, it’s worth a stop. They have a great selection of fine wines, micro brews, liquor, cheeses, and home-brewing supplies, in addition to everything else you’d expect to find at a local liquor store. It’s all at great prices too and the staff is more than resourceful if you need help with anything, from figuring out a good pairing, picking out a gift-bottle, or just trying to learn what the heck the stuff on the label means – they know it all, they’ve been doing it for a long time(at least 30 years, I believe) and have been to a lot of the vineyards. I recommend checking out their website( ) for the next wine tasting and signing up for the weekly e-mail to get an update because they also have great sales on a regular basis on all different types of wine at different price points. P. S. Make sure you don’t leave before saying«Hi» to Ed!
