Wonderful food. Great amount of food for your money. French toast had a great flavor — came with eggs, bacon and a side. All a there plates of food looked great. Problem was deciding what to have.

Old west Old west! Where would I be without you. I can’t help but say that I am addicted. First tried this place in my college town. I was hooked since. For the longest I would just order the bullrider(chicken fried chicken with gravy, 3 eggs and 2 sides — fried potatoes) It was a huge portion, which meant that i could go back to it later. Great flavor. The only thing that I had to do extra with was the fried potatoes, nothing a little salt and pepper wouldn’t perfect! Then I branched out. Please order the Deputy(it’s a cheese omlette). OMG! Best cheese omelette ever! When you take your first cut into the omelette the cheese is instantly gooey! From start to finish! With this I order bacon, sausage, or half a slice of ham, which ever of the 3 you choose you can’t go wrong! If youre feeling extra fat order the hashbrowns with queso(as if you didn’t have enough cheese). My next recommendation might not sound appealing but somehow some way Old West has done it! Lemon Blueberry pancake — with or without syrup — it’s that good! I questioned it, I’m sure you’re questioning it right now, but don’t! Let you questions roam into Questionland and order this amazing ass pancake. The flavor combination is impeccable and to die for. If you love pancakes or not THIS is a MUSTORDER!

Easily one of my favorite breakfast places in Dallas. The environment is super casual and laid back but the food is something else. It reminds me more of a cowboy style diner rather than those fancy brunch places people have been going to just for the instagram pictures. Yeah, those places have great aesthetics, but most of the time the food is overpriced with small portions. However, the portions here are HUGE and the prices are amazing. You can definitely split with a friend or order a couple dishes for a group and share if you want to try a lot of things. I went on a Saturday morning and it was quite packed, but the wait wasn’t too long. Service is great and they’ll help you narrow down what to get since there’s a ton of stuff on the menu. My friend and I shared the peanut butter stuffed french toast and the six shooter(biscuits, chicken fried steak, topped with eggs and gravy). Both were DELICIOUS and we couldn’t finish both at all. Definitely will come back anytime I’m craving some good homestyle breakfast that will send me to a food coma all day long.

12÷4÷15 Just listen to what your customers ask for in the order… Over medium eggs are a normal style of eggs, and every line cook should know how to do that in their sleep… Side items are add ons so missing those things cost you money. 10÷28÷15 10÷14÷15 Update Ohhhh nooooo… Ok I’ve been enough places and ordered enough Benedict’s to KNOW its best to request UPFRONT that the English muffin(or whatever the bread component is) be grilled /toasted WELL. I like CRISPY. I ordered the 10 Gallon this morning and it’s basically eggs Benedict with«grilled English muffin ham tomato cheddar». My muffin hadn’t touched that grill it was absolutely straight out of the bag spongy, which made it sloppy soggy on the plate… The cheddar was also a cheap processed slice that didn’t melt. So disappointed. Easy fix — just make sure, if you are like me, you tell the server you like it crispy toasted. ******************* What did I say yesterday??? WOW?! Ok folks… seriously…bring a date /friend /kid /heck pull a stranger off the street because everything here is big enough for TWO! Went savory yesterday, and sweet today(I know I’m a terrible person) — 6 Shooter is a cinnamon crunch dipped French toast with strawberries, with«a side» of two eggs bacon and English muffin(my side choice)!!! Again the coffee was kept topped off by very pleasant wait staff. This might be THEBEST breakfast in Dallas for early birds… Thurs 10÷8÷15 Wow I’d forgotten how big the menu and portions were at OWC! Opens early, good coffee, super friendly staff, and damn the food is GOOD! I was diving head first off the watch what I eat routine and did the 6Shooter which is enough for THREEPEOPLE. Chicken fried steak over biscuits and gravy… with fried eggs on top and hash browns on the side. I barely put a dent in it before I tapped out. YUM.

My wife has been coming here with the other ladies from the neighborhood for months and they keep coming back to the same place, and now I know why. We were out dropping a car off for service at the dealerships in Grapevine and figured that we were early enough to get in before the big weekend crowds. We were lucky to have less than a 15 minute wait and we were seated and trying exactly what to have on the huge menu. The waiter was very helpful in making some suggestion, pointing out the top items on the savory side and the sweet side. I chose one of the bowls where they start with biscuits and gravy, top that with scrambled eggs and chorizo sausage and some jalapenos. Oh my goodness this was great. The only bad element is that there is absolutely no where to sit/stand and wait for a table. People are litterally going back out to their cars to await a text that their table is ready. If you are a techie you will enjoy how they are using apple products to run the whole restaurant, everything from the waiting list to taking your order on and iphone device. There are so many choices here, you are guaranteed to find something just right for you.

They were very busy when I arrived on a Saturday morning that I had about a 25 minute wait… They were understaffed, and I saw my server enough to order my food and get my bill at the end, but he never checked up on me to find out that there was something wrong with my meal. They had too many tables crammed together in too small a space, and other people were lacking basics like salt+pepper and syrup that *two* other tables had to borrow the supplies off of my table. To top this all off, the restroom was *FILTHY* and when I walked in there, I could *FEELTHEOILYFLOOR* DISGUSTING! Just because a place is packed does not make it a good place to eat. Even pigs crowd together around a trough!

How much do I know about the Old West? Not much. Anyway, let me start by trying the food. I pass by this restaurant on Northwest Highway in grapevine every day on the way to work. As the restaurant name implies, it is an restaurant in the Old West(or Wild West) style. When you walk in, you feel the atmosphere. The wall decoration tells you right away. You see little lizards, tiny animal skulls, cast iron pans, etc. hanging on the walls. At the entrance, you see a big mural painting. See my picture later. Quite impressive. The menu was created with the Old West in mind. For example, omelets are named like Sheriff, Outlaw, Texan, City Slicker, etc. Read the descriptions and you’ll find out what they are. It’s quite interesting. I ordered an eggs Benedict named«Cattle Baron». It had spinach, tomato, avocado, etc. I switched out the bacon with smoked sausage. Not sure if I ruined the integrity of the name. Anyway, the whole thing was very delicious! One of the best I’ve ever had. Again, see the picture I took. The egg yolk was cooked just right. The sausage was very tasty — spicy with a nice smoked flavor. The Hollandaise sauce was not poured all over the plate like in other places. It was rich and creamy. But I had to say it was a bit on the salty side since the sausage was already salted. I ordered a hot black tea to go with it. It was just fine. The service was great. The waitress and other serving people were quite friendly. She asked me a few times if I wanted more hot water for my tea. Onto the restroom. I do comment on the restroom facility when I have a chance. I think that’s also part of the overall dinning(or non-dinning) experience. The restroom there does lives up to the Old West style — metal door and lock inside. The cleanliness could be better though — from today’s standards. There is also a sign outside to tell you how much it costs you to use it(just kidding). Overall, it was good on my first visit here. I’ll come again to try some other items.

I am beyond impressed! I saw the amazing reviews so my husband and I went to check it out. BREAKFASTISHEAVENONEARTH! If you are a breakfast person, a foodie, or a hungry in general, get yourself ASAP to Old West Café! I ordered the Cowpoke which consists of one LARGE pancake(I got the banana nut with peanut butter syrup), one egg, and two sides of either bacon, sausage, or ham– all for 5.99! AMAZING! It’s now my go-to place. Do yourself a favor and just«treat yo’ self» to a delicious and filling breakfast! TIP: It’s very popular and so I planned ahead knowing there would be a lengthy wait time on a Sunday morning. My wait was 30 minutes so just keep that in mind when calculating how«hangry» you are on a weekend morning.

I did not have a good experience. I have lived in Grapevine for almost 2 years and always see a line here. So I decided to try it, dispite a 45 min wait. Today is Valentine’s Day, and I decided to treat my sister to breakfast. I ordered something that was 2 times more food than I needed, and more money than I wanted to spend. I asked the waitress if there was a smaller option with Chicken Fried Chicken. She was VERY unhelpful with suggestions, and never mentioned options. She also didn’t mention that I was getting charged $ 3.29 extra to choose chic fried chic, instead of the chicken fried steak. Even though I do not recall seeing that one over the other would be an additional cost. I had mentioned also, it was our first time there. I was stunned, after ordering orange juice to see it delivered in a plastic container like store bought juice. Really??? I told the waitress to take it back. I would not drink juice served like that. I asked for over medium eggs, and received a mushy barely cooked yoke. And, last but not least, I got charged $ 1.00 for a small bowl of gravy, which I thought came with the biscuit, that had a hard bottom to it. The bill came to $ 31.98 . Ouch, for 2 people!!! I only expect that at a Hilton on the water in Fla. Needless to say, I am over my curiosity about this place.

Wish this place would stay open for dinner. I would definitely have visited for ‘breakfast for dinner’ and then back again the next morning. Menu is extensive and I saw several things I wanted to try. Atmosphere is pleasing – lots of people around us but I never felt crowded. Friendly and helpful service. Husband wanted to taste the sausage gravy prior to ordering and was obliged. Price was excellent. Least expensive meal of our trip to Dallas and easily the most food. Food was excellent as well. Two adults and three kids 11 years to 7. Two kids had a chocolate chip pancake(a la cart for $ 2.99) I believe. They made smiley faces out of the whipped cream I suppose because they knew they were for the kids. Kids dug in before even pouring syrup on top. They were declared the best pancakes ever. Another kid had the cinnamon multigrain and she loved it. I had ‘The Boss’. I could have done without both pieces of bread being smeared with peanut butter, but the bananas were fresh and the toast was crunchy and sweet. Peanut butter syrup was delicious. Husband had ‘The Wrangler’ and shared several things with the rest of us. I loved the hash browns – some crispy and some soft. Yummy with the jalapeño ketchup. Overall I would return again when in the area and look forward to the opportunity.

I wish this place were open all day. Best breakfast we’ve found in the DFW area. My boyfriend & I have been here at least fifteen times, and we make it a point to introduce out-of-towners(who love it equally). Their panhandler dishes are delicious; the Philly cheesesteak is probably my favorite. The fruit always tastes fresh. Their chicken fried chicken is huge &HEAVENLY. Same with the pancakes. Portions in general are quite large. We’ve sampled half the menu & never had something we didn’t like. The atmosphere has country western theme(as you might deduce by the name). Lots of cheesy signage & such. There’s even a life-sized John Wayne sitting on a horse over by the restrooms(which are usually very clean). Service has always been solid & prices are very reasonable. Breakfast or lunch, this restaurant is worth a visit. Expect a bit of a wait if you come in between 8:30&1:00. It’s popular for a reason!

Every restaurant should get the electronic check in and ordering system Old West Café utilizes! A line was out the door when we arrived. Typically this would be a 30 – 40 minute wait. We checked in and they would send us a text when our table was ready. Only 15 minutes passed and we got our table! Plus we were able to sit inside our car to avoid the cold weather and standing in a crowd. At a Saltgrass recently, tables sat unused, incomplete parties were given tables and what was quoted as a hour wait was in reality 90 minutes! Hey, Landry’s give the Old West owners a call and learn how to quickly seat your customers! Food is excellent and portions are huge! I ordered the Wrangler breakfast. This is NOT for small appetites. In reality two people could split that plate and walk out stuffed! Fresh, hot coffee that was flavorable and not burnt tasting like an unnamed Seattle coffee chain! Service is extremely fast and very friendly! This is one of our favorites now!

Hey I went back and guess what, they read my review and now have real butter. Finally some respect for the pancakes. Now if only they will at least sell 100% maple syrup, Organic like from Maine, vermont, or Canada. I would pay for it, so I dont have to bring my own. Service was nearly perfect and the food was great. Go go go.

I love the Old West Café in Grapevine. Can’t say that for all of their locations. The atmosphere is, well, exactly what you’d expect by hearing the name. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. I’ve tried biscuits and gravy, pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon, and well pretty much everything on the menu. My wife loves the Migas. My favorite is the biscuits and(sausage) gravy. They are second to none. Honestly, I judge all breakfast places by how well they can make them, if they have them on the menu. The tables are pretty cool. Most have checker boards painted on them, with checkers sitting by naturally. Condiments are inset in the tables, which is kind of cool. My advice: Get there early and be prepared to wait. Its a great place, with limited hours and incredible food. Naturally, lots of people want in. Also, don’t expect to eat healthy. :)

OHMYWORD! Best brunch of ALLTIME! EVERYTHING is so so so SO good! It’s unbelievable. I’d actually pay twice the price! The Cheyenne is literally a cinnamon roll that they smushed flat, dipped in French toast batter, and then grilled. WOW! Biscuits and gravy are so rich. Hash browns are exactly how I want them — a little crispy, but really potato-y. Sausage is the same, nice and crisped up, but so flavorful. Coffee is HOMEMADE and so good. Omelets are great too! Service is always top-notch, so we always leave a big tip! You always see the manager walking around, making sure things are going well. They get packed and you may have to wait a while if you go when they’re busy, but it’s WORTHIT! I’m so happy I found this place! If you’re thinking about going, JUSTGO!

I’m typically a lengthy review writer, but for Old West it’s pretty simple: you’ll love the atmosphere of the Southern theme, you’ll love the well-mannered waitresses/waiters(which is appropriate considering the theme), you’ll love the variety on the menu, you’ll love that no matter what you choose it’ll be delicious, you’ll love that your delicious food comes in generous portions, and you’ll love that those generous portions of delicious food come at a low price! Old West is a great breakfast spot that will make you question IHOP’s existence. Also, let it be known that there is typically a wait on the weekend. Let it also be known that you should indeed wait because it will be worth it.

If you have not tried this place yet do it, you will be able to find something on the menu to enjoy. I am not a big breakfast person but everyone around me loves it, we go here and I can order a verity of non breakfast things. There are some limitations debating on the time time of day but ask your server and they can help point you in the right direction, in fact, I always ask for the lunch menu. This place is busy and rather steady on how busy they are, they do not take reservations but the line moves quickly.

I had this place bookmarked and was excited when the chance to check it out came. We drove up on a Saturday afternoon(12pm) Parking was scarce, and the place was packed. But this did not stop us from placing our name on the waiting list of an hour+ Once we were seated, we ordered right away. Food came out fast and accurate. For the price of the meals($ 8-$ 10) there was sooooo much, I thought we were going to need another table. The pancakes alone where the size of a child bike… and we have 5 of these things on the table. It appeared that all our entrees came with pancakes! Tip: you might can share one of these items if your not very hungry! Even though the place can seem as a «hole in the wall» the food is 5 stars for sure! Glad we got to visit this location in Grapevine. Service was great and frendly, we will be back soon. Little history«about us» from there website: The year was 2001, and I was workin’ 80 hours a week in the corporate world!(I am sure many of you can relate!) I rarely spent time with my children and husband, and time was just passin’ on by… My husband always knew I wanted to own my own little café, so one day, out of the blue, he came home with my very own key to my very own café! WOW! That’s how Oldwest Café was born! So even as we grow a bit, I never forget where we started, what a hard road it was gettin’ here, and how hard we all need to work to make sure we try not to lose that happy feelin’ ya’ll get when ya’ walk through our doors! We want to treat people just the same way we want to be treated back… kindly and with the utmost respect. So all you mighty fine Cowgirls and Cowboys, saddle up that horse and hit the trail for Oldwest Café… pretty darn sure ya’ might like it! And if ya don’t, well, that’s okay, too, cause even I know that ya’ just can please em’ all! So, HAPPYTRAILS and get down to the Oldwest and take a load off! See ya’ll soon! You’ll enjoy the ride!

I have tried many times to have breakfast here, always on the weekend. Unless you like to wait, often over an hour, I suggest you get here EARLY(or come on a weekday as was suggested by our server). We managed to arrive early enough were our wait was less than 30 minutes. We were a party of three. I wanted a typical sweet(American) breakfast, so our server(who knew the menu very well) suggested the french toast dipped in cinnamon and sugar(I forget the exact cutesy name). Perfect. My dining companions went for egg dishes. My french toast was very good. The coating was large granules, not powder, so it added a bit of a crunchy texture. However, by the last slice, it was getting a bit too sweet. Fortunately the two eggs it came with, over easy, tempered the sweetness. I also had a few bites of Thuy’s omelet. The omelet was very good. Eggs cooked perfectly, plenty of stuff inside. Even with me «helping», some of the omelet went home with us. I was very hungry, so my french toast, and the two eggs over easy, all got finished. Coffee was better than average. Not weak as is often the case. Bottom line: Very solid breakfast. Reasonable prices, big portions. A bit noisy though due to the layout(and crowd). Funny things to read on the walls. PS. There is one advantage to the long weekend wait, it will give you time to look over the very large menu. One thing I did not notice is was a cup of coffee while we waited an option? I like it when this option is obvious, or offered.

Looks better than it tastes… So I really REALLY wanted to like this place. Great reviews, it was full of locals, fair pricing and reasonably priced. Came for breakfast, and left feeling like I consumed a bunch of empty calories. To be fair, I likely ordered the wrong thing — the Six Shooter(chicken fried steak) was so bad that most of it left uneaten. Bland sausage gravy, decent biscuits, but flavorless steak was what really held this down. It looked awesome, but tasted nothing close to decent. French toast and pancakes were a winner(thus the 3 star), the Tex Mex options were so-so(too much cheese? Check… Greasy potatoes? Check… full of fried starchy badness? Check…) I’d consider returning for pancakes and French toast(fried flour covered in syrup? Count me in…) but wouldn’t really consider anything else unfortunately…

We stopped here for brunch on Sunday while in Grapevine for a little couples getaway. I found this spot on Unilocal and was anxious to try it out. We attempted to eat here on Saturday, but the line was wrapping around the building. So… Sunday it was. This local hotspot does not take reservations or call ahead seating. So, I sent my hubby in to put our name on the list and we went down the street for a good ‘olé cup of Joe while we waited. For an old school looking joint, this place sure is high tech. They had an electronic system that sent us automated texts as we inched closer and closer to our table and the delicious food. Once we were finally seated(it only took 45 minutes… not bad!), our waitress took our orders on her iphone. Like I said, high tech. We asked her if they had to use their personal phones, and she explained that they had to hand their phone in in order to get the store’s iphone to use. How smart! It keeps the servers off their phones and gets the orders to the cooks extremely quickly. I ordered the Big Hoss: Banana, peanut butter and honey stuffed french toast with a side of eggs and sausage. The french toast was served with their signature peanut butter syrup. SOGOOD! I loved everything about my french toast. My only complaint about my meal was that my eggs were luke warm and the sausage was dry. BUT… the french toast more than made up for it. I would definitely come back here again!
