I’ll tell you straightforward I LOVE the food here, I drive pretty far just to get their food. thats why I can give it a 3. BUT, their customer service is AWFUL. the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever seen in an any establishment. they’ve been prejudice, assuming, and down right disrespectful to me and other people I know on numerous occasions. If I could find a better Chinese restaurant around I would choose it over this any day. me and my friend even had an incident with them last night again too. I’ve really had it with this place. so if you’re someone who can tough it out for good food go ahead, but if you’re offended easily, stay away.

We had lunch here today and I would only say that I will not return to this place. Food is better off at China express then here, no taste or flavor

The 1 star is not in regard to the food or the waiters… it is for the couple that seem to be the managers; man rarely speaks or acknowledges your presence. The woman is almost rude. She never speaks, smiles or offers any pleasantries. With both of them, it feels like you are unwanted and a bother. The food is great and the service(waiters) is wonderful! It would feel so much more welcoming if the managers would treat customers as well or better than the other employees. I would go more often if I felt it mattered.

Food is decent but the service is absolutely TERRIBLE. No one greets you, they basically bark at you for your order. When collecting tips from people who have left, they make faces and slam silverware. Really? Unacceptable. Update– found a hair in my food and I asked to speak to the manager on the side. Instead, he came out in front of other patrons and said that he doesn’t see it… basically accusing me of lying. I WASSTARVING, why would I do that?! We paid and left without eating. Received no apology in return. In fact, the manager asked the bus boy to take care of us for the rest of our time there.

You know it’s pretty bad when you say this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in all of Tarrant County, but it kinda is. No buffet here, everything is made fresh to order. I miss the quality and conservative service of the 80’s and before! It used to be so good, and they smiled and even knew your order. Chinese places just don’t care anymore so long as they’re making delivery orders and making some money. It’s just sad for a true lover of the traditional culture. I almost gave 4 or even 5 stars to this place when comparing it to others in the area. But, in all my hopes for this place to be a standout amongst the mundane, I got a hurried and genuinely rude waitress. Décor is really Americanized too, which I can’t stand but they mistakenly all do that now? Chinese = China I came to get some hot tea and decompress over some wonton soup and Chinese. Nope, I was rushed on every account. It was so bad I wish I could rewind back in time to tell this waitress to get off my ass, please. The food here is good! Wonton soup(my favorite) has the best broth flavor anywhere I’ve tried in Tarrant county. Nice and hot! They offer a fluffy brown rice choice instead of the steamed or fried. Spring roll was large, crispy and fresh that came with my lunch special. $ 8 for Ginger Shrimp was worth it! The jumbo shrimp tasted delicious in a sweet ginger glaze with bright green snow peas. A big ding in a negative way for charging me $ 4 for hot tea! Can you say nickel and dime? It’s a tea bag and water. But, my bad waitress got a $ 2 tip so that made up for it. She’s lucky she didn’t get a fortune cookie slip that read«You owe ME» I’ll be back to try more menu options and hopefully get classier service. There is a saying that’ the definition of class is how you make the other people around you feel! It’s true. I ate at the bar and the workers were yelling in Chinese at each other while I was sitting right in the middle of them? Instead of a mint at the check, hook me up with an Advil. Table in the corner next time so the waitress has to trek across the restaurant to come my way. :D

Fast service, always delivered with a smile! Their orange chicken is sooooo good! I also love their veggie spring rolls. I have never been inside their restaurant. I just do delivery, and have never been disappointed. Whatever time they say they’ll be here, they’re always here even sooner! No complaints. This place rocks!

I’m not a huge Chinese fan, but I really loved this place. They have awesome lunch specials. My favorite is the mandarin pecan chicken. It’s amazing!!! The lunch special comes with soup, wonton chips and sprig rolls or crab Rangoon. Well worth $ 8.00!

Very clean restaurant consider it’s asian food. their food isn’t that bad at all. I like to get my chines fix at this restaurant once in a while. They also have the best green tea ice cream that I have always order after my meal. The owner and the waitress are nice and friendly.

This place is absolutely horrible. I have never gotten worse service at ANY restaurant in the WHOLEWORLD. My experience started on the phone. I tried to order delivery from the place, and after taking my order they decided that I was TOOO Far from them. The guy on the phone kept screaming something about 6 miles… So i relented, talking to the guy left a bad taste in my mouth, but i still decided to visit the place because the other reviews were okay, and I was still hungry. I google Searched the place, and It was about 6.5 miles away. Literally a 12 minute drive… I go into the place and I immediately recognize the culprit as the guy behind the register. His attitude has not changed in the slightest. I ordered 2 chicken entres and some rice, to go, and about 5 seconds after he ran the cards, one person in the group changed their mind, and wanted to get dumplings instead of the second chicken entre. I thought this was an easy fix, but he made a big stink about nothing he could do, as if it was written in stone. He raised his voice a few times to me about me getting angry at him, and it wasn’t his fault. He made a big scene in the restaurant, that I couldn’t believe. Zero customer service skills. I was fuming when I left, and honestly considered throwing the guy through the window but thought better of it. The food was passable. I mean rice and chicken. But I wouldn’t return to the place if you paid me to do so. The guy is literally a lawsuit in the making. Avoid like the PLAUGE!!!

Your typical Chinese American restaurant with a full service bar. The portions are generous and the menu has a wide variety of your typical Chinese entrees. I selected the beef with snow peas. Was very good and made fresh to order.

I would give 5 stars but the service kinda sucks. There are no smiles amount the waiters and ours didn’t even introduce himself. Just said asked for our drink order. Food is REALLY good and I’ve been coming here for years, but why would you be rude to your customer base? The friendliest person in the place is the lady that refills water and buses tables. I’ve been coming here for years so it’s hard to give 3 stars, but cmon Would literally be the best affordable Chinese around with some decent service and a friendly atmosphere

I have been here many times in past. Not as good as I remembered. I had curry chicken that was bland. Beef with mushrooms was good. Wanted fried rice without egg(allergies) they would not make it. From before I remembered that some nights are better than others. I think it is the cooks working.

We’ve been eating here for over 2 decades and it maintains the same people and the same in quality of food. It would have a 4 star but the décor is something to be desired. The man who stays up by the bar is so funny and he makes amazing drinks. The food is the best Chinese food in the area I think. I’m a fan of their Mooshu(sp) pork dish and husband loves the orange chicken. They have a new Chicken ball on the appetizer menu that is cute and tasty ;) My go to place for Chinese! UPDATE! Went for a quick meal last night and had a martini… one of the BEST martini’s I’ve had!

My coworkers rave about this place! For me it is just generic Chinese. I’ve definitely had better elsewhere but you can get a quick bite for lunch and be in and out in a flash. If that is what you’re looking for. Fast and hot but taste to me is lacking a bit. I will say it has been a minute since I’ve been so perhaps the flavor of this spot has improved – I’d be willing to give it another try.

Its obvious I don’t like Chinese. But this place, I’ll eat any day. Its not so much the flavor as the quality that I’ve had issues with at other Chinese spots with questionable meat and overly greasy fried rice that has just jaded me. That is the complete opposite of what you will get at Empress. Its dim inside– perfect for date night– or alone– I do it all the time. This place is scrumptious enough to not want to share, anyway. The décor is typical for an upscale Chinese place nothing too crazy. I wouldn’t say it’s very spacious and it gets pretty crowded at lunch. I typically go for the orange chicken or the kung pao chicken always with the brown rice. Referring back to my issue with low quality Chinese food and how I’m jaded — this place brings out big chunks of white meat chicken. I’ve never had an issue with the quality of the meat. The rice is always perfect and fluffy. I can’t really comment to the soup because I have a mushroom allergy so most the time I don’t get to eat it. I’ll be perfectly honest I can’t ever remember what kind of service I got here I was so preoccupied with the delicious food and great drinks — they have a full bar by the way — that I didn’t really pay much attention to service– which is very unlike me! I can say that I don’t ever remember being treated rudely or felt like I was ignored. I leave feeling like an Empress.

Well I desperately hoped that the bad reviews were wrong but they were right. This place is just bad. I tried a lot so let’s describe each… Crab ran goons– it was deep fried but somehow soggy and chewy. And tasted like nothing but old oil. Lo mein– first bite was pretty good then I tasted something bitter and almost fishy. I realized it was the broccoli which weirded me out and I didn’t eat anymore of the lo mein. Sesame chicken– the sauce was good and not too heavy but it was super rubbery chicken. Some parts were so tough you couldn’t even bite through it. And again the broccoli just tasted dirty and off. Kung pao– this is my favorite Chinese food even Panda Express can do it. This was horrible. It was sweet and bland and there were no peanuts. Where was my spicy peanuty dish? Fried rice-served cold so not a great start and no flavor with mushy veggies Steamed rice– it was rock hard and smelt like fish I chose not to eat it. Will not return. Hope that helps you make a decision about whether to eat here.

I stopped in for the first time to Empress of China today and I have nothing but good things to say about them. As soon as we walked through the doors, we were greeted and sat down fairly quickly. The restaurant itself is very sleek and clean, I really loved the lighting in the building. IF you’re all for drinking and eating, they do have a bar section that is sectioned off when you walk into the restaurant. The server was very kind and attentive to our table. I had ordered a Jumbo Noodle Soup and to be honest, I was really surprised with the size of the portion. It was more than I could handle by myself! The shrimp, scallops, and chicken were just right with the noodles and the broth itself is not to heavy. The meal overall is not as spicy either, so I would recommend it to anyone who is up for a noodle soup with a bit of spicy-ness. I would definitely recommend this place and will be heading back soon to try other things on the menu!

Empress of China has always maintained it’s greatness over the years! I have been coming to this location for about ten years now and the service and food still remain top notch. They have all that you could ask for in a local chinese restaurant. Be it from Beef and broccoli, delicious scallops, the exquisite egg drop soup and hot and sour soup to their amazing General Tso’s chicken. Any order that you have here will come out great! I really like the fact that no matter how busy you are greeted warmly at the door and depending on the day free to choose your table. This never changes even if you are by yourself or with a group. The servers are pretty fast with the drinks, as in never really letting you have an empty glass. The service is great and the waitresses always seem to have a smile. I can’t so for the waiters but hey that is OK when you have a ton of people in your restaurant. I will say the food can take a while to appear but that is because they are just so busy at times. If you have an hour to spare this is the place to be. Not only does it have great food, but the ambiance is very nice too. Very open windows great lighting and tasteful décor make up for a great meal and enjoyable conversation. Since I have been coming here so long, this totally one of my go to places if I want quality, service and a great meal, and I will contiue to keep on coming back in the future.
