Safeway Food & Drug

5 Stars for the very nice people who work here. I marked down 1 star because the store is small and its crowded. BUT it’s crowded for a very good reason. They have a great selection of products at a good price. Where this store really shines is with its personnel and their continuing habit of treating customers very nicely. Today, I went in and they were singing
Happy Birthday to a customer while she was in the check-​out stand. It made me feel happy that I chose to shop there. One day last summer there was an employee who was passing out fresh cookies and bottled water to the people waiting to pay. It was great! The lines weren’t that long, but it was a nice way of telling the customers that they were appreciated. That, along with helpful veggie, meat, and bakery people (I’ve never ordered anything from the deli) and you leave in a pleasant and happy mood. The manager of this branch is doing a great job!

I’m from California but come here often to visit family. This Safeway had a lot of meat, which is awesome. They have a really small organic produce section, which is lame. On my last visit I asked the cashier for $ 20 cash back in dollar bills. She was super nice, friendly, and accommodating. Didn’t roll her eyes or anything for taking a bunch of her ones.
All in all, the store is big and has a great variety. They are a bit more expensive because it’s Safeway but this store seems better than any other option around.

This Safeway is always fully stocked and the employees here are always very nice! The selection in general is quite wide and very organized. Even the people that shop here are pleasant compared to other locations. The cashiers are always smiling and inquire about my day (even if they are told to do so lol) and stay engaged in the conversation with me until I am finished checking out. I definitely enjoy shopping here over any other location!

This store is a big improvement over the 7^th and G street Safeway… it’s in a nicer location, it’s got a bigger, better deli, and parking is much better. Unlike the other store, most of the customers don’t appear to be substance abusers or criminals. The store is better stocked, laid out more logically, just better all the way around!
