Delish !! Tried this cute little spot out on a recommendation. Well worth the 40min drive. Service was wonderful. Kitchen was able to handle a couple dietary restrictions with no issue at all. Will definitely come back.

Wanted to try something new for dinner date night and found this cozy little spot. Lots of fresh homemade pasta options and everything being served around us looked great. We opted to split the chicken scaloppini and a Sicilian pizza. The pasta and sauce were great, worth coming back for. The pizza was good with tons of fresh mozzarella though I would probably try a different one next time. Their wine selection is small but reasonable by the bottle, little high by the glass though. We will be back as finding great homemade pasta around us is difficult.

Got the pizza on a recommendation from a coworker. Great! Super fresh toppings and lots of them. Awesome crust that held it all together. Also got the antipasto and tiramisu and both were also wonderful. Kind of tucked away in this shopping center but easy stop if you live in Granger or are staying in Mishawaka.

Small local restaurant; husband and wife make all pasta. Dinner was excellent. Side salad was just the right size, cucumbers, olives, small tomatoes. Pasta dinner was fabulous and I ate it all! Highly recommend this cute place.

What a wonderful place. I have been looking for great espresso, and the Lavazza espresso was perfect at Simonini. Beautiful and delicious food in a setting that is a combination of mid century modern and classic styling. Plugs at the booths when I needed power, and a very nice and serine environment. Just Wonderful.

I do not eat gluten and very limited carbs. Ordered the Mediterranean Frittata which specified all the ingredients with the exception of the pasta that is in it. I then ordered a Cesar salad which was subpar. At no point did they offer to credit the frittata, rather, I was told by my sever that the chef/owner thinks that people should know that frittatas are made with pasta. Of note, this is not my first time ordering and frittata but it is the first time it was cooked with pasta. The only redeeming quality about this restaurant was the service.

Food was excellent but service was disappointing. I think the wait staff needs training on checking the beverages before they bring them out to make sure they are what the customer ordered as well learning the timing of when and when not to interrupt your tables. Yes we want the server to check back but not every 10 minutes.

Tonight was our first night and we’ll be back. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. There isn’t a kid menu but the staff worked with our kids to make them happy — which made us happy. The kids ended up having the breaded chicken and buttered shell noodles and loved them, but especially the chicken. My husband had the chicken parm and he described it as excellent — and he’s picky about chicken parm, but described this as his favorite in South Bend. I had the pasta carbonara and it was delicious. You could tell the pasta was fresh, but it really had a great flavor. My husband had a few bites and raved about it. Overall a great experience with excellent food!

My wife and I decided to go to Simonini Gourmet for our wedding Anniversery in early June. We had an early reservation at 6:15. Seating was immediate, there were only a few other tables filled at the time. Per recommendations on Unilocal,we ordered the Simonini Ravioli appetizer while we browsed the wine list and the rest of the menu. We knew that they were going to be fried, but we were both shocked by how hard the pasta was when it arrived. It seemed overdone. We ordered the chicken marsala(a sentimental choice as it was served at our wedding reception) and the lasagna. We had to remind the waiter that the chicken marsala came with a salad. I ordered the house salad. We then struggled with an appropriate wine choice. Our waiter offered us samples, as many of them were sold by the glass. We settled on a bottle of one of the Chiantis on the menu. Our waiter then told us that the chef would be excited since we ordered an authentic Italian wine to go with our meal. A few minutes later, our server came back explaining that there were no more bottles of the wine we picked; that would have been helpful to know before even tasting. We reexamined the wine list as our salad showed up. The waiter also brought a bottle of wine that was 2x the price of the wine we had initially ordered. Our server then awkwardly explained that the chef had sent it out and would personally guarantee that we would like it. Hard up-sells are always a turn off to me. We passed and ordered a red blend that was nice but not outstanding. At least it paired well the dishes we ordered. The salad was very good. Though not the salad I had ordered, it was the caesar instead of the house. To make maters worse, I didn’t notice until after applying the house salad dressing to the already dressed caesar. We were in a bit of a hurry, so we notified the waiter of the mistake but did not send it back. The main courses were good. Portions were about right. The dishes were attractively plated. The fresh pasta that came on the side of the chicken and in the lasagna itself was a highlight. We both very much enjoyed the marsala sauce on the chicken dish. The lasagna was interesting with the shredded beef, but was on the bland side. We finished with the imported tiramisu. This was the best thing we ate all night. Continuing the theme of poor service, when we were presented with our bill, we were told that we would have to tell the server in advance how much we planned on tipping. Totally awkward process. We were hoping for a four star meal, but with all the service hiccups, the disappointing Simonini Ravioli, and the attempted hard up-sell on wine, I can only give it two. Hope this was just an off night and they get their act together. The location is great and the atmosphere very chic. ADJUSTED post second visit. My wife and I returned to Simonini Gourmet today. I am very happy that we gave SG another chance. All of the service concerns that I commented on in my previous review appear to have disappeared. There were no attempts to up sell us on anything. Just a pleasant dinning experience in a chic atmosphere. We will be back and encourage others to give it a try. This time my wife had Pasta Carbonara. Instead of the normal spaghetti noodle used in pasta carbonara, SG used a nice homemade rigatoni. This pared well with the creamy sauce, bacon, and peas. A very well executed and presented dish. I had the Nicoise Salad. An excellent and perfectly cooked tuna steak was beautiful presented atop a bed of fresh greens. As is appropriate for the salad, olives, tomatoes, a hard boiled egg, and a chilled boiled potato were presented around the perimeter.

My wife and I loved the place… the interior is gorgeous with a very nice ambiance: dark wood, leather booths and the custom light fixture is one-of-a-kind. This is NOT your typical corporate restaurant fare, and it’s a cut above any other locally-owned Italian restaurant in the area(Macri’s Italian Kitchen on Ireland Rd. is great for fast-casual Italian, but this is definitely more of a fine-dining experience… and it shows). Their chef, Dionne, is a genius and the food is simply magnificent! I love this place, and I recommend it highly!

We came here for a late mother’s day dinner for my boyfriend’s mom. We went on a Wednesday evening around 6pm. It was pretty dead, only one other group was seated when we arrived. The décor was modern-chic, it’s seemed kind of small. The food was pretty delicious. I had the cheese ravioli, others in my party had the lasagna and the chicken Parmesan. It was all a little on the salty side, but I guess it better than being bland. The lasagna had shredded beef instead of ground beef, which we really liked. My boyfriend’s friend recommended the restaurant. His friend works there with his family and come to find out, the waitress informed us that the ravioli was his dish. The ravioli was really very good! The artichoke dip, wasn’t the greatest. I would get something else next time. It was too tangy oily and not creamy enough for my taste. The wine prices are way too high. We got a bottle to split, I don’t think it was really worth it but it was better than each of us buy individual glasses at $ 9 each. The staff was really great, I will come again sometime to try their other dishes.

We went there for the first time tonight. The ambience and the food were absolutely fantastic. We will be back for sure, probably once a week! It was so good!

Love the look and the food at this restaurant. But stick to the iced tea because they charge treacherously high prices for very mediocre wine. Service is just okay

Wish I could give them 4.5 stars so I will just say that’s my rating and hope that’s enough. Simonini Gourmet is a great addition to Centennial Place and to Michiana. I have dined there twice — the first time was impeccable. The restaurant is gorgeous, the service was very attentive and friendly but not overbearing, all the food was wonderful and everyone in the restaurant was lively and having a great time. I definitely see myself going back many times and I would love to try their to go deli and pasta items sometime too. Their fresh made pasta is presented in the case when you first walk in the door, along with a nice cheese and cured meat selection. The ONLY reason for a 4.5 and not 5 star review — on my 2nd visit, the service was a tad slow. The restaurant was very busy and they did appear to be down one server so I really don’t want to hold that against them too much. I would have appreciated an acknowledgment from the server of the predicament and would have made all the difference in the world. Also, I believe they only serve wine but I greatly enjoyed their house Cabernet. I predict Simonini Gourmet will be very successful and definitely recommend you give them a try!

I had a wonderful dinner here this past Saturday night with some girlfriends. I had never heard of it until a friend said that is where we were going for dinner. The ambiance was very cozy and comfortable. Since there was a large group of us we decided to share a few plates of food. My favorite was the Simonini Ravioli, it had spinach, mushroom and cheese in the stuffing. Definitely a place to try and visit again.

Our first visit to this new local Italian restaurant located in the Centennial Plaza in the former Victorian Pantry location. Small(probably 15 tables so make rezzies) but quaint and decorated really tastefully. Greeted warmly & sat immediately. Had live jazz music that night that was really good and not too loud. Nice menu with a lot of options. Decided since it was our first visit to try a few different things and share so started with their Calamari as an appetizer which was great, shared a Caesar salad and also had a pizza that was amazing(pesto with anchovies) & their Simonini Ravioli, also a winner! Very generous portions so took most of it home, who doesn’t love leftovers! They have $ 28 bottles of house California wine, had the Cabernet Sauv that was really good but had a nice variety of others by the glass or bottle. Very nice waiter, not hovering but good service! Because their pastas they say are made fresh from scratch it does take a little while to get your entrees so it’s more of a laid back atmosphere so be aware if you’re in a rush! The owner(I think) stopped by several times to ask how things were and to thank us for coming in which was classy. Sad to sad we were too full to have dessert but they looked yummy going by on the tray! Our bill with all the food and a bottle of wine before tip was $ 89 so not too bad! We love to support local businesses so will def be going back soon! Would be a great«date night» spot or business dinner! Give it a try!
