Surprisingly good deep dish outside of Chicago. This is «real» deep dish, so be prepared for a long wait to cook the pie(40 minutes), and you’ll get a delicious heavy, cheesy pizza. Sauce was flavorful, toppings were incorporated well.

Really good food! I’ve lived near by and pass this location all the time. It’s connected to a gas station which hides this gem! I really like the ambiance inside and the food is very reasonable priced. And it tastes really really good. I’ve had the pizza before and the deep dish is the best around!

Have passed by this place several times and never stopped because it’s located inside a gas station. Very nice inside. The spaghetti and meatballs were very good. The deep dish pepperoni pizza was very tasty. Great service Would give it more stars but we aren’t big deep dish fans but just had to try it and it was good

Pizza is great. Service is great. Atmosphere is ok but could be better if the owners daughter, who is a waitress, would turn it down a little. She tends to move around the room talking to patrons she recognizes and uses a loud excitable, almost shrieking voice during her conversations. Really ear splitting at times. Other than that it’s great food.

If you are looking for extra cheesy, extra fluffy, extra greasy pizza, this place isn’t your style. If you are looking for the perfect amount of cheese, dough, and sauce baked into a perfectly put together pie, this is the place for you. This is locally owned and the owner has done a nice job distinguishing himself as a pizza parlor as far as taste and atmosphere goes. The owner is a very funny guy as well, so if you’re lucky he might come out to chat! Try this place out.

Disappointed, deep dish was Not deep at all. It was an inch below edge, veggies weren’t cooked, sausage was good. Don’t know how this beat out Politos Chicago style.

Always great food and service. The deep dish pizza is the best around here. The new restaurant is much more spacious and nicer. Anyone that comes to the South Bend area I would recommend Gianettos over all for he best deep dish pizza.

Just OK. We ordered thin crust pizzas for carry out. The crust was good, but sauce was almost nonexistent and bland. Toppings and cheese were ok.

The deep dish is great. Obviously if you’re going to order a deep dish pizza, don’t look for your server to be bringing it out in 20 minutes. Some people don’t realize what they’re getting themselves into. Had a bad experience one time that stil lingers with my wife. Ordered a deep dish half cheese and half of 3 or 4 toppings. My wife, only likes cheese. Waited 40 minutes for the pizza, and they put my toppings on the whole thing, and blamed it on a new computer system. I get it… mistakes happen and they did just re-open the restaurant. It sucks when you waited so long to have it come out wrong, but once again… mistakes happen. My wife wasn’t thrilled but is a manager at a local bar and was understanding. They said they wanted to make it right and suggested my wife order a thin crust cheese pizza so it wouldn’t take as long and said, don’t worry we’ll take care of you. The thin pizza, well… just don’t order it. Did not taste well at all. On top of that, they brought us the bill. Apparently by «taking care of us», they took ½ off the deep dish pizza and still charged us full price on the thin pizza! We ended up owing MORE than if they would have gotten it right the first time. Not sure how that is «taking care of us.» Other than that, we’ve typically had pleasant experiences here, and would recommend it to anybody that wants some high quality deep dish pizza. The owner is a very nice man, and often mingles with his guests.

I got a take-out deep-dish pizza today, and it was perfect! Chicago has nothing over this place, and I say that having tried pretty much all the main Chicago monuments for deep-dish apart from Pizano’s(where I think their thin-crust is the big deal, in any case). So compared to Giordano’s, Malnati’s, Geno’s, Uno, Due, this place is totally there. We got a large«works» deep-dish, which normally has sausage, onions, mushrooms and maybe something else in addition to cheese and red sauce. We subbed spinach for the mushroom, as my son’s not a mushroom fan. The crust is a perfect pan dough. The sausage is very high quality. And the sauce is subtle and flavorful. The word that came to mind for me overall was«balanced.» It wasn’t «mild» nor«spicey.» It was not oversalted(a problem I’ve encountered at Cosimo and Suzie’s, an otherwise great place). It was a perfectly composed pizza. I don’t fully understand the history of this place, but it’s complicated and needs to be taken into account for people who read reviews here. Five or more years ago, Gianetto’s was a fixture in a basement-like location near the St. Joe River in Mishawaka. Then it moved to this odd location in the middle of nowhere(although very near the 83-mile exit off the i-80/I-90 tollroad). Future development there is inevitable, but I think the new location ran under new management, went bankrupt, closed, etc. But at some point in the last year, it’s returned to being run by the original operators. And, like others have noted, deep-dish pizza is not fast food. Call ahead, just as they do in Chicago, or be ready to wait 40 minutes or so. Or try any of the other things from here. I’ll try the lasagna next.

The deep dish was awesome. And equally excellent was our service. Including chatting with the very nice owner for 20 minutes. I’m not sure why there are bad reviews about service, but probably bc those people don’t realize deep dish takes about 40 minutes to make. So, ignore the ignoramuses and if you’re that much in a hurry, order ahead.

What a pleasant surprise! Stopped off of exit 83 in the middle of a long trip to fill-up at the adjacent station. We sat down outside, lovely atmosphere, extremely friendly and personable service. The menu offered a variety of salads, pasta entrees, and sandwiches. We didn’t try the infamous pizza since we were in a hurry to get back on the road, but split the antipasti salad and one of their cheesy baked pasta dishes. Very tasty! Every employee we interacted with was a sweetheart and our meal was just the right break from the drive. Check it out!

Well sorry only four stars and all those go to the pizza. The staff looked lost the whole time we were there. Just confused, they all seemed to act like it was there first day on the job. So if u r looking for service good luck. If you r looking for great pizza then you r in the right place.

Chicago transplants and home-for-the-holiday’ers rejoice! No need for post-order«is this going to be a huge disappointment?» stress, also known as «faux deep dish anxiety” – a common malady even in Chicago. No, my friends, this pizza is the real deal… the circular boat of sauce, cheese, fresh veggies and meats that we all know and love. And don’t be scared away by the location either; it may be right next to a gas station, but the inside of the restaurant is warm, cozy, and quaint. The owner even stopped by each table to make sure everyone was enjoying their food– such a nice touch!

Home for Easter and rather than spend two hours on the train just for deep dish pizza we decided to go to Gianetto’s. Not sure why you would move from the historic 100 Center location to share a building with a gas station but the food is still great. So if you never went to the old location don’t judge this book by the cover. Also absolutely no reason to go to Chicago for great deep dish pizza.

Original owners are back and the food was even more incredible than I remember! We had stuffed pizza and the ultimate this crust! The quality of the cheese in the stuffed pizza and the dense crispy dough makes it so good. The ultimate this crust was so crunchy, flakey and thin I can’t wait to go back for more! Staff was friendly and accommodating! Victor came out of the kitchen to check on how we liked the meal! Donna also sat down in the booth with us and to take some time out and make sure we were happy! So good to see the original owners back! It is a must stop place! Even if you are just passing through! Very easy on and off the TollWay. I will be back, soon!

Stuffed Crust Pizza with«The Works»(Cheese, Sausage, Mushroom, Green Pepper, Onion), Coke: $ 23.05– This is the best pizza I’ve ever had! I lived in Chicago for ten years. I’ve had Giordano’s, Uno’s, Geno’s East, Carmen’s, Edwardo’s, Leona’s and many others. This beats them all! The sauce is perfect– a good zesty flavor, a real zip without being overly spicy. The crust was flaky, solid, but not hard and it has a good TASTE. The sausage is ACTUALLYGOOD! I don’t think I have ever found a pizza sausage that I actually like. Until now. The sausage tastes like quality meat– it’s not gristley, tough or fatty. It’s seasoned just right and has a good taste to it! The vegetables tasted fresh and the whole pie was like a perfectly tuned symphony of flavor. I can’t think of anything I would change about Giannettos Pizza– It’s perfect! *****************UPDATE: I called to order a pizza ahead of time because it takes so long for their deep dish(about 40 minutes) and some punk kid told me they don’t take call-aheads for pizzas on Friday nights! So I hung-up on him and haven’t been back since.

This business is closed according to their Facebook page, due to a bad relationship with an associating partner. It seems if they will open again but are currently uncertain where. They should update their voicemail as my husband and I spent 30 minutes driving around last night looking for this place! Anyway, it is CLOSED… for now.

It helps that the pizza is so good here. Love the deep dish! The problem here lies with the servers. They just seem unmotivated. It took forever to get drinks and refills and we had our check brought to us and she didn’t come back for another 20 mins topics it up I’ll try it out again to give them another chance because the food is worth it.

My wife and I got carry-out here a few weeks back. She’s not a big fan of deep dish pizza, so we opted for the thin crust.(Even though all I really wanted was the deep dish.) The pizza was good, but not the best I had. It reminded me of the 1st time I went to Gino’s many years ago and only tried thin crust. I wasn’t that impressed and didn’t go back for many years. A few years later, I tried the deep dish and was hooked…(albeit in limited quantities.) So tonight, I wanted to go back to Giannetto’s and try their deep dish. While our server was super friendly, the service was a bit slow and disorganized, but the excellent stuffed pizza made up for it. This was one of the best pies I’ve had in ages. It was really well balanced and not overly rich, as some other deep dish pies can be… think Lou Malnati’s or Gino’s. I hope they get some of the kinks worked out on the service end, because the food is really good and of good value. Other things we’ve tried and liked… Papa Vic’s Big Salad; Buffalo Wings; and Garlic Cheese Bread… everything was good and left us satisfied.
