Love this place! One of KCs hidden treasures. Delicious, clean food. Peaceful, rustic atmosphere. One of my favorites :)

Students make sandwiches and grill them in a small, converted house on a side street. And there are salads. And a juicer. And some interesting cookies. Everything is fresh and tasty. The juices are hella fresh and are a touch more interesting than the smoothies because of it(the ice masks how good the juices are). The sandwiches are very good… without being fantastic. Same with the fresh guac. Coffee and cookies were very good. The place itself is adorable. The small staff friendly. Of course everything is made to order so don’t be in a hurry. A good place to stop.

Had an awful experience here today with one of the employees or perhaps the owner, not certain but let’s assume she was the owner because if she isn’t the owner let’s just say she has complete disregard for her continued employment. This place is TINY we’re talking 15X15 ft, so upon placing my order I take a seat and a red headed woman begins to absolutely berate a customer support person whom she is speaking with on the phone. This was so rude to have no care for the customers whom were trying to enjoy their food. I would have fired her on the spot and additionally I would have fired some of the other employees who just stood there and let it happen. I finally spoke up and I think she got the point.

Delicious farm-to-table style restaurant. Organic, gluten free, dairy free, and vegetarian options. Fresh squeezed juices, smoothies, sandwiches, and desserts. Incredibly friendly staff, as well. I had the pear, turkey, goat cheese, fig, and mint panini, which was fantastic. A true melody of flavors. The Exodus smoothie was also wonderful.

Not extremely impressed. My garden panini was terribly bland. My mom did like her pear and goat cheese panini. We tried the hummingbird juice which was pretty good too. Very pricey though — our bill was $ 30 and change for 2 paninis, 2 chips and 1 juice. Overall kind of meh for us.

On our way to Branson, we turned to Unilocal for a non-chain choice and boy, howdy, they delivered! The Songbird Café in Geandview is a little place with big flavours. The turkey, pear, goat cheese, mint and fig jam sandwich is a lovely symphony where you can still hear each instrument clearly — it is surprising and amazing! Our turkey and cranberry sandwich was better than most T-day repasts! We split a cherry salad, with goat cheese, pepitas, dried cherries and a light orange dressing that complemented beautifully. All yum! Oh, and then cookies for the road — all gone, one exit away! No pics — couldn’t stop for food porn!

Like a mirage of sparkling clean water appearing in the desert, Songbird Café magically appeared after a day at the Grandview DMV. I had wasted my day stressin’ away and was wanting to turn the tides before driving home. Caught in that purgatory of being hungry but not that hungry, I couldn’t help but think a fresh juice or a smoothie was what I was after. I whip out the trusty Unilocal app and find out that I’m less than a mile from Songbird Café, and the pictures make it look pretty cool. Tucked a half block off Main St, the Songbird Café is a legitimate house that has been converted into a quirky, cool little restaurant and juice shop. I scoured for the menu and found a small pamphlet style one just above me when I walked in — they do sandwiches and all things lunch in addition to the smoothies and juices. The menu is extensive and definitely takes a bit of time to read through if you’re not a regular. I shot the breeze with the crew there and it sounds like a family operation that took over Songbird relatively recently. I opted for the Pilgrim: mango, banana, pineapple, topped with mix berries, which was perfect for the 90+ degree August afternoon. As they make it fresh, it takes a few minutes to come together, and when he handed it to me I was pleasantly surprised how large it was. The whole thing was under $ 7 and was more than enough, which isn’t always the case at juice spots. I loved the ground berries on top, they slowly melded together with everything else. Songbird earns five stars for being a cool, delicious operation, but more than that, they earn it for coming through in the clutch when I was desperately seeking a little positivity!

Good prices for healthy food. This place was really tucked away and is quite small, but it really suits the place. You will love this place if you are into eating healthy. Most of the menu items are drinks from fruit/veggie smoothies/juices to nut smoothies. I had the pear and goat cheese sandwich and Flamingo juice. The fig spread on the sandwich was awesome and the Flamingo juice(pineapple, sweet potato, and lime) juice was very refreshing. The sandwich came with shaved carrots which was cool. I have not had them shaved like that before. I will be coming back to try some other items on the menu for certain.

Smoothie Spree Chronicles — Part 3: Cozy, homey atmosphere, but also fairly overpriced. My pumpkin-banana-flax smoothie mostly just tasted like a mouthful of banana and that wasn’t as pleasant as I had hoped, especially for the high price tag. I tried one of their little coconut cookie things from the display case though and that was really good! The veggie sandwich was pretty decent too, but once again pricey especially since it didn’t come with a side. I do love that they use Farm-to-Market bread, and they sell things besides food like artisan jewelry, etc… this place has potential!(They also don’t have wi-fi and I’m not sure if that’s because they recently changed owners and haven’t gotten to that yet, or if it’s part of a calm technology-free vibe, which is cool too.)

Had an excellent experience. Brought someone with me for their first time who is a very picky eater, and they couldn’t believe this place was right there in Grandview! Definitely a treasure worth seeking out. I had the canary and the veggie sandwich and both were delicious. The person I was with had the Turkey Pesto and the Parakeet and said both were spot on. The whole menu is so thoughtful and unique, and I can’t wait to go back and try some of their other items. It helps knowing that everything you’re eating is fresh, non-GMO and without any food additives. It’s hard to find a restaurant or café these days where you can feel good about what you’re eating. This is one of those places. Worth every penny.

It was expensive and I didn’t like my coffee or bagel or peanut butter. but I can tend to be picky. It was cute in there and the people serving were nice

So yummy! I work in a building nearby and I’ve always wanted to stop in and never have. I decided to try some of their juice and got the Lovebird. Holy cow, so freaking delicious. I wish I had ordered the larger size! I plan on trying some of their food next time I go in!

Food is great, juice was wonderful. Only downsides: really small, they serve health food with tap water… And maybe I’m making this up but I got a weird vibe from the owner. The employees were awesome though. I could tell it was a Christian establishment. I love Christianity, it’s beautiful. «All the world’s major religions were initiated by God, and corrupted by man.» «Do not fight or argue to protect your religion, unite to protect your world.» Love and let love, nourish with great food!

My favorite place for lunch and/or drinks in Grandview! Food is freshly made with real ingredients. The only downside is how crowded it can get on busy days. Be sure to call ahead if you’re in a time crunch. It’s definitely worth the wait though!

This is one of my favorite places in Grandview! It’s truly one of the city’s hidden treasures. The entire place is adorably designed, and I can tell it must have been a real labor of love. It’s small, but not so small you feel claustrophobic or cramped. I would love to see a bigger outdoor lounge area at some point! In addition to serving organic, delicious food and drink, there’s also a small assortment of handmade gifts to browse through. It’s a great place to pick up a gift for someone special… or, you know, yourself. Refreshing little place!

Headline: A hidden gem amongst an otherwise baren foodland(aka Grandview, MO). Health enthusiasts, right this way! This place is worth checking out, although it is very very easy to pass by unnoticed, and I only found it the old-fashioned way; by word of mouth! I’m at a client in Grandview and my colleague notices there is a place on the main drag(aptly named«Main Street») that had signs for espresso and pizza — a winning combination. We go there, and they don’t actually have pizza ready at 11:40am… ha okay(hipsters, gotta love’em). The girl at the counter recommends Marketplace Justice around the corner so we head there to check it out. As it turns out, this place(Marketplace Justice) has«People Love Us On Unilocal» written all over it. They cater to vegans, gluten free, soy free, dairy free, etc. and to all kinds of organic uuber-healthy meals. The food is great, service is friendly, and the ambience is great as well. Edit/update: the business has a new name, SongBird Café, and new owners. The menu and principles are essentially unchanged, which is great! My colleague orderd a nitrate free turkey panini-type sandwich with dried cranberries and a house-made dressing which came with«carrot chips». I went with a mixed greens salad with other wonderful ingredients and a tastey and light citrus mango type dressing. We both picked smoothies out as well. Everything we ordered came out fresh and delicious. I have a Blendtech and make smoothies daily, but I can’t compete with the smoothies this place made. Although we did not try the coffee or espresso drinks, that is next on my list(maybe tomorrow!). I did notice they had a nice selection of organic beans that can be purchased. I’d recommend checking this place out if you are in the area, or even making a special trip to give this place a try. It’s basically a small house wooden house painted in a light forest green. Half the place is the kitchen so there is not a lot of seating, but there were tables available since it isn’t quite«discovered» yet. I would say groups of 4 or smaller is best for this place.

Food is amazing! I was skeptical of the turkey/pear/goat cheese panini but it was so good I had to get on Unilocal and write a review. I’ve had lunch here several times within the past two weeks and it has always been delicious. And I don’t feel bad about eating out because it’s so healthy! Also for all you chocolate lovers like me… their chocolate ganache is on point!
