This hotel wouldn’t let my 18 year old daughter check in because she wasn’t 21. While booking this room there is nothing on the website, or the confirmation notice stating that there is an age requirement, she didn’t know that she wouldn’t be able to stay here until she was at the check in desk 3 hours away from home. The check-in person was less than helpful just stating too bad. At 18 you are an ADULT in this country. You can go fight and die for this country, but you can’t stay in a second rate hotel. This is the WORST and we will NEVER be staying in any Choice Hotel. DONOTSTAYATTHISHOTELORANYINTHEBRANDFAMILY.

Room smelled funny, really funny. I was shocked at how dirty some things were. The fake plant had ½″ of dust on it. The alarm clock had gunk all over it. There was an alarming amount of mold in the bathtub and window. Ceiling was chipping away in most places. Behind the toilet paper there were brown spots, take a guess at what that could be. Bathtub had hair, cracks and stains. The top blanket bedspread had multiple, multiple stains. The ice bucket looked like is beyond a cleaning and needed to be thrown away. Disgusting that they expect you to out ice in that. Hair, dirt and other unmentionables lined every crease and crack in that place. Typical cheap hotel breakfast. Glad we only had to endure one night.

Really impressed with this hotel. Was VERY nervous because of the reviews and felt like I was taking a risk. Ended up booking it for a low price so hey why not. Fast check in, clean and updated room. Also– free dinner AND breakfast. They served meatball subs, salads, pop, and cookies in the buffet area. Nice place and worth the money. Still close to everything including the mall which I’m excited about. Would stay again! The only thing that really stood out to me was the dirty pool/hot tub. Their was visible dirt in the pool and floating dirt/hair in the hot tub.

Comfy bed. Fresh style and look to the room.(Ahem!)The walls are not thin as our neighbors did not complain lol. Free breakfast was no different than any other hotel.

Stayed here just before Thanksgiving 2013… This hotel had the most reasonable price for a weekend stay of any in this area at the time. When making the reservation I wondered why this hotel was a 2 star hotel vs other hotels with similar features were 3 stars? Well I found out. The hotel at the time was undergoing renovations to the lobby… It was quite a mess… But the staff was super nice and tried to make sure the work didn’t interfere with guests stay… And it really wasn’t an issue. The location is great… A street away from 28th street’s constant traffic/noise, so it was quiet even with a room facing 29th street… But it was right there for all the restaurants and shopping… And a quick 5 minutes from the freeway. The room was nice. a narrow rectangle that was not huge but had enough room to be comfortable… The two beds were every comfortable… My only complaint were the pillows which were poofy and collapsed down to nothing even when using 2… But my son said his were perfect. The room had a small frig and coffee maker… and came with the standard complimentary soap, shampoo and conditioner which were all good quality. The TV was a flat screen and good size… However had no HD channels and the SD cable reception was not great so the picture was somewhat fuzzy on some channels and annoying… The Free wifi signal was strong in our third floor room. The free breakfast was good but not great… The make your own waffles that seem a staple of these types of breakfasts were ok but somewhat bland… The norm is a Belgian mix and that definitely was not. The round style sausage again were ok, somewhat spicy and not«really good». The scrambled eggs were good. They also had cereal, fruit, bagels, pastries and yogurt as well as juices. The staff again was super nice. Everyone should be able to find something to fill them up… And it’s free. :) Remodeling made them move a bunch of stuff into the workout room… But we still could use the treadmill and elliptical. Both were old but worked fine even if some of the features or the displays did not. On to the pool… It was very warm(which was great) but not clean at all… if you are a germophobe avoid it and the jacuzzi… There was hair & dirt(looked like sand?) at the bottom and a green mold ring around the top of the pool. There were also a bunch of missing tiles around the top… Not one or two tiles total but 3 or 4 every foot or two. Based on all this I’m guessing the pool is on the«soon to be remodeled» list, so if this feature is important to you call to ensure its open. I know this sounds bad but the pool needing a serious cleaning didn’t stop us or other families from using and enjoying it… We just took immediate thorough showers after. Think of it as swimming in a lake. :) So in summary… If you’re just looking for a place to sleep that is a stone throw from all 28th street has to offer… this hotel is an excellent choice at $ 60 per night or less. If you are super picky and have high expectations, this is a 2 star hotel so you will be disappointed. If the rate is $ 80 plus(like I see for my Xmas time trip) there are other nicer(3 – 3.5 star) options that have a pool and free breakfast included in the same area.
