Checked in and checked back out in under 15 minutes. Why, you ask? Let me list some reasons.(I must say first that I have never left a hotel, and I have stayed in some sketchy places… including places where I have propped chair backs under doorknobs at night). 1. Got to room and saw a huge orange sign from the Michigan police posted on the door of the room opposite of ours. It warned of hazardous materials possibly on premises and that an illegal lab(meth lab, I am assuming) was busted in the room. It warned people to exercise caution while on the premises. 2. Some strange odor filled the room. 3. Constant dripping sound in hallway. 4. Carpet filthy and torn up. 5. Bathroom filthy. 6. Strange characters in a pickup truck sitting near side entrance of hotel, drinking and staring me down. They were creeps and made me scared. I am rarely scared of creeps. 7. Strange coughing/hacking sounds coming from a few rooms down. 8. Even the hallways seemed scary. On a side note, the girl at the front desk was very nice! I would not recommend staying here. For about $ 30 more you can go to a hotel across the street that is super clean, safe, and great. That is what I did and I breathed a sigh of relief when my head hit the pillow.
