Amazing staff. I was the person who actually drove all the way to Grand Rapids, Michigan for work from Chicago and LEFT my work computer at HOME!!! Driving in the crazy weather and having so many luggage bags with me plus new rental car just totally threw me off my game and when I got to the front door of the hotel I realized I did not have one of my bags with me, THEBAG!!! Literally I thought I was going to cry. But the hotel staff was so nice they suggested I have my computer ship overnight and they will be there to receive it while I go to work. The stay was wonderful, comfortable, I had everything I needed and the staff scanned for me few papers for work too. They also have a manager’s happy hour everyday with beer and starbucks coffee. Thank you so much for everything Holiday Inn Express Grand Rapids!!!

First the bad… why have a freakin’ awesome stand up 4-person cabinet video game like«The Simpsons» in the upstairs area from the pool if you aren’t going to power it up? Crying shame, I know we would have dropped between $ 20 and $ 50 on that thing. The other thing was the super thin walls/floors. You could hear people walking on the floors above and it sounded like someone beating a big drum. Kids running down the hall. ugh it sounded sooo loud. Ok, now some things I liked… The replaced all the king-sized beds in the place with those awesome«memory foam» mattresses, you know like in the commercial where the guy jumps on the bed and the red wine doesn’t spill. Soooo comfortable. Also the free breakfast was pretty good, tons of choices like scrambled eggs, toast, cereal, biscuits & gravy, bagels, muffins, donuts… but the absolute best the the Two PPM(that’s two pancakes-per-minute) machine they have. Absolutely loved it! TONS of kids at this place, but what do you expect when you have a three story slide and mini-waterpark on site? PROTIP: Ask for room #403. It’s like they didn’t know how to divide the last space in the building so they just made it one giant suite. There is an «upstairs» area with bunkbeds for the kids and one of those«rain» showerheads built into the kids’ bathroom. Also three TV sets, plenty of open area, and a separate bedroom downstairs with it’s own bathroom.

Checked in and got a room overlooking the pool. Super clean, very nice, enjoying the balcony over looking the pool. And the best part was as we checked in the desk clerk as whatbwe weremin town for and said visiting our daughter at GVSU, she gave us a great discount. We have enjoyed hot tub, the pool, gym, and the fire place inthe lobby. That is just the first night, looking forward to making pancakes in the morning. Also we so close to mall, so some shopping tomorrow. Toddmichael
