We had gone for Happy Hour several times last year and one night decided to stay for dinner. It was so disappointing for the $ that we did not return until last Friday w reservations. We both had the Shrimp and Scallops. His w lemon butter and mine Oscar style. I had a Kettel One martini straight w 3 lg blue cheese stuffed olives. yum. He settled for a beer. Warm bread served with pesto laced evoo was very good and fresh. My Oscar addition to the entrée $ 4 was somewhat disappointing. 3 very tender large asparagus spears were well cooked but the amount of crab was less than a Tbspn in small scattered bits. The shrimp n scallops were well cooked and nicely presented and the portions adequate with the two sides and bread. His lemon butter sauce was blah and not hot. We decided to split Jem’s Jamaican Coconut pie for desert w cups of coffee. Lots of coconut in a cream base but the rum sauce was crystalized sugary instead of being a smooth sauce. The coffee was good. Robyn, our waitress was excellent and timed our meal well. We will go again for HH and for dinner and hope for a few tweaks of improvement.

Delicious! The Bang, Bang Shrimp did not disappoint. It was my boyfriend’s favorite part of the meal. I had the shrimp and scallops; both k which were cooked perfectly. However, the thing that forced me to write this review was the crab fried rice. It was so delicious! The crab was jumbo lump crab and was nestled in the top not mixed it so it didn’t get greasy. The rice was very flavorful and also not greasy at all. The egg was fluffy and the red peppers lent a sweet taste against the perfectly salty rice. I could eat it for days! Service was just okay — our waiter made me a bit uncomfortable at times because he was almost overly friendly. Apps came out super quick but our entrees took a while. The waiter did tell us about the delay in the kitchen though, so it was nice to be alerted about it.

Came here for my anniversary, This was my first time here and the fish was pretty good, I got the ahi tuna with Asian sauce, it was real good, a bit tiny though. My boyfriend got the haddock, he said it was sort of bland. The thing that will have me recommend this place was our fantastic server, Shelly. She was on top of things, super friendly and everything I could ever ask for in a server, and I go out to eat a lot. She put a candle in our slice of key lime pie, other servers came over and also wished us a happy anniversary, all of this, which as corny as it seems, made our night. Overall it was a great experience, good food, GREAT service and I will definitely be coming back.

Great place for Bang Bang shrimp. Nice ambience. Usually excellent service, tonight was great but the server forgot to bring my drink, hence the 1 star deduction.

Loved their sea bass, their bang bang shrimp was below average. Overall a decent seafood place but some dishes are hit and miss.

Not great but not horrible either, just OK in my opinion. My husband and I made reservations for this past Friday at 7pm. It was PACKED inside! We could barely get through the crowd of people to the hostess stand. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated. I thought to myself, man the food must be great here for so many people to be waiting. I was a bit wrong on that assumption. First, I hate the parking in that area. It’s so spaced out and weird. We had to park rediculously far away. The waiting area in the restaurant is pretty limited and has a small bar, so chances are when it’s this busy, you’ll be standing. Not very inviting. Second, the food. It didn’t really«wow» me. The bang bang shrimp was tasty for an appetizer. For dinner, I ordered the pecan parm crusted trout. Large serving but dripping with butter which turned me off. I couldn’t eat all of it. The garlic mashed potatoes and green beans were fine. My husband and I both ordered the ultimate dirty martini. They really need to put on the menu these have stuffed blue cheese olives with them. It’s not something that everyone loves and the cheese falls into the drink, ruining it for some people. Personally I didn’t think the lemon vodka/blue cheese olive flavors work together very well, but that’s just me. The whole experience left me feeling rushed. The appetizer and main course came out REALLY quick. We weren’t even one bite into our bread before the shrimp came out and we were barely finished with the shrimp before our dinners came. I felt like we were packed in there like cattle and were rushed to finish dinner. It was also loud and pretty cramped seating. Not sure we’ll be back. If we ever did, it would be for some drinks and apps at the bar.

I’m not usually a fan of chain restaurants, but this particular Bonefish location is pretty great. My family and I go here every so often and have made it a tradition to come here on Christmas Eve for appetizers and drinks after church. It’s typically pretty busy, especially on Christmas Eve, so we make it a point to sit at the longer, shared tables in the bar area. These are first come, first serve and you can get full service here if you want. The bang bang shrimp is a must. I have never been to Bonefish and not ordered this. They have a little kick to them, but not much. Between five of us, we share two and it’s a perfect amount. The cocktails are decent, I typically order the raspberry vodka collins. I wasn’t impressed with their version of the moscow mule, as it was too sweet. If you like super sweet drinks you might enjoy it, because they add a house made sweet ginger syrup to it. One qualm I do have is that they usually only have one local beer on tap. I understand this is because it’s a chain restaurant and not local, but Michigan(especially Grand Rapids) has such good beer, that it’s really a shame. My favorite thing on the menu is the Grilled Sea Scallops and Shrimp with either the Pan Asian Sauce or Lemon Butter. If I’m feeling really crazy, I’ll order all scallops for an extra charge. I also like the bang bang shrimp tacos if I don’t order it as an appetizer. The fish and chips are also worth trying if you’re in the mood for it. Chamber was our waitress most recently. She was excellent and gave us great service. I recommend this location, but be prepared to wait on a holiday. Make reservations in advance!

Get the Crab Cake Appetizer!!! Hell, get 4 plates and just eat that for dinner… seriously that good I have only been here once, it was the middle of the day and the place was full of Geriatrics… so at first I was a little nervous I might be in for soft foods and butterscotch desserts… But I was pleasantly surprised. I knew this place was supposed to be good, so we pressed on The food… all of it… was delicious and the bread was fantastic The service was spotty at first… I mean she really did well at first and then everything started to fall apart… we waited over 30 minutes for lunch… but we didn’t have to complain… She was well aware of it and even told us the number of minutes we had been waiting, before we said a thing… then she arrived with a $ 10 gift card, 3 loaves of bread to take home, and a free dessert to take home without us even mentioning a thing In the end the service was stellar… I think it was just an «off day» and she was well aware of it… the wouldn’t have taken such great pains to correct it if this was the norm… she made it right In the end, I’d go back again and would send anyone there that is looking for a good seafood restaurant outside of downtown. No fear of soft foods and butterscotch desserts necessary

This place is no where near as good as it used to be. I know it’s a chain, but they really did a very good job in the past. Now it’s just mediocre food, no better or worse than other chains. The service was a bit weird, too. Somehow, they sometimes seemed overly attentive but they also forgot things… I probably won’t be going back there.

Great food and service for how busy it was. I had the steak and my wife had the salmon. Both were seasoned to perfection. For sides, I had the truffle Mac and cheese and my wife went for the garlic mashed potatoes. Both were full of flavor and would order again. We will definitely be going back.

We just love this place. Yes, it’s a chain, but doesn’t feel like one. We love the bang bang shrimp and steak usually. Tonight though, I got the lamb and husband got the marsala pork chop, they were both delicious. Happy hour every day until 6:30 is awesome. Tonight our service was a bit slow, but the place was super busy and we have compassion for that on occasion. We will be back again!

I really enjoyed my experience! The customer service was great and there were large TV’s everywhere displaying the football game! The servers had awesome uniforms that made them look like chefs! And the fully stocked bar was an added bonus. My day of pampering was completed with this delicious dinner and great experience! Bang bang shrimp is highly recommended!

OK… I am a little late to the dance on this one. I have always wanted to go as I love sea food… but finally went as a late Christmas gift and I gotta say I loved it. The service was great and the food was even better. I was always told it is a great place to eat, but now I have lived it. Would strongly recommend to anyone who is a fan of great sea food or steak. The only draw back the selection for someone who might not be a fan of sea food or steak or perhaps gluten free… was very limited in these options.

Ok, we’ve been back to Bonefish a few more times and it has gotten better. They still pack you in, and the wait staff are still worked pretty hard, but the service seems to have improved in general. The food is consistently good, even on the busy nights. I recently had the American Kobe Beef Burger. It was so good, my stomach actually reached up to my brain, made me write an update and add another star…
