If I could add more stars I would! I am an AVID thrifter. I’ve been to many,(almost all) thrift/second hand shops in the Grand Rapids area and surrounding areas and this is hands down the top of the list for cleanest, most organized thrift store. I accidentally ran into this store, I can imagine it would be easy to pass by without notice because it’s kind of randomly placed, and judging by the outside you wouldn’t think much. But WOW. So clean. So organized. Everything is strategically placed, keeping the place very easy to navigate. Also a HUGE bonus, they don’t overload their racks and shelves– You won’t be digging to find what you want or overwhelmed with the amount of(sometimes) junk. Also, everything they put out is in good and usable condition. The staff is so friendly. It’s not very big, but the atmosphere makes up for it. Oh and did I mention yet how AFFORDABLE everything is? I’m not talking goodwill affordable(which I think 60% of their items are over priced due to the condition of the items) I’m saying that their clothes are $ 1 – 5. I bought a Halloween costume in perfect condition for $ 4. A designer cashmere scarf for $ 1… ONEDOLLAR. It’s hard to find thrift stores that actually have clothing in wearable condition, but this store gets an A+++++ from me. And I love that ALL their proceeds go to providing meals, healthcare, housing, and education in third world countries. Makes you feel so good when you shop somewhere that gives back. Visit this thrift store. You won’t be disappointed. Happy thrifting! God bless! Sincerely, bargain obsessed-broke college student

My mom and I have been passing by Africa’s Child for months, but never bothered to stop in before today! I was surprised at the amount of glassware that they have– not as much as a Goodwill or Salvation Army, however. They also have a small selection of housewares, furniture, a large collection of clothes, shoes. They get a gold star for keeping the store very well organized and clean, and the prices are fantastic! When checking out, the clerk explained that 100% of the profits go to humanitarian aid in Zambia, and are happy to give you a pamphlet explaining the different programs they support. Also, we learned this is their second location, the first being located in Holland, MI.
