This is a favorite place of ours! I’m fascinated by the tortilleria! Best flautas I’ve eaten in along time & you get 5 plus beans & rice! We bought some of their chips & we had nachos the next day! They were awesome! Love Mexican food & their prices are very reasonable!,

This isn’t a full review because I have to go back and try the menu item. My review is strictly for the prepared masa for tamales. I’m new to tamale making but my friend Maria B. held a tutorial for a few of her friends. I knew this a long process but she shared a secret with me, buy the masa already prepared. That’s what she does and for our class she purchased from La Nueva. Maria and her husband are both excellent cooks and even he was impressed by the taste of the masa, said it didn’t need anything added to it. Although our tamales were perfectly shaped I think we did a good job and armed with that knowledge I was confident to go and make my own for Christmas. I should have known to they would sell out of masa really early. I got there around 4:30 on a Monday and they only had 2 pounds left. I took it and made some pretty tasty chicken tamales. I went back 2 days later in the morning and purchased 6 more pounds to make the pork tamales. Let me say my family loved them. They all said they tasted pretty authentic to them, we’re not Mexican but we’ve been buy tamales for years. Some have been wonderful and some were trash so we kind of in the know when it comes to tamales. If you plan on making tamales and you don’t know about La Nueva Puntada already consider yourself in the know. This is now my go-to place for prepared masa and I cannot wait to go back and try the menu items.

The chicharon is amazing!!! I didn’t care for the desebrada though, it had good flavor but too much salsa. It was more like caldo. The corn tortillas are simply delicious
