I used my groupon today Around 3:45 pm. May 1st, 2016. The food was hot. I ordered 3 piece catfish basket n 6 piece shrimp basket. The fish was fried very hard like it could be pork skin. I could not taste fish it was like eating my batter. I was very disappointed. I will jot be going back there.

Jimmys’ Catfish was delicious! My food was served hot and fresh! And my Groupon discount had me leaving there with a lot of extras to bring home. I will be eating there again… real soon.

Years ago I use to stop by this location when it was Watabuger that closed and I haven’t been back. That is till 2 weeks ago when we came to Jimmy’s for the first time. To be honest the Catfish poboy was good and we’ll seasoned but the star at Jimmy’s is their Seafood and Creole gumbo both are extremely good. I went to New Orleans for vacation and I got alot of gumbo while I was in the South. Jimmy’s was better than any that I had.

This is not real catfish. It is Swai. I specifically asked when I called if it was Swai and was told no. I ordered and yep it was Swai. If you want real catfish, skip this place.

The catfish was very small pieces. The place was not clean and I will never go back. Customer service was ok. If u want catfish go some where else.

Not the best catfish I’ve ever had, but certainly not the worst either. A previous reviewer was concerned about whether they use USA Farm-raised catfish… they do not! The seafood gumbo was good but needed more seasoning… AND they served it over instant rice. YUCK! Also, there was ZERO okra in the gumbo. Ummmmm… look it up: gumbo is the Bantu word for okra! Fries were meh. Tartar sauce was meh. Atmosphere, décor and service were meh. Also, if you’re gonna put TV’s in your restaurant: 1) Don’t have them on competing channels, or turn the volume off on one or both of them, and 2) Upgrade. Orion 13″ diagonal fattys are typically sold at garage sales in this area for five bucks. The counter server brought me a sample of the red beans. I will definitely be back and I’ll order a large bowl of that… and maybe some of the hushpuppy sticks. They’re great!(Then again, I’ve never met a hushpuppy I didn’t like… even the hose-bag, pre-formed Sysco ones!)

I alway order the chicken po’boy and a 2 catfish filet. The catfish’s batter is extra crispy and not soggy at all. They usually have groupons which is how I found this place out.

I stopped by Jimmy’s Seafood for the second time the other day to buy a Catfish dinner(to go) and when I got home I realized after taking a few bites the fish wasn’t fully cooked. It was mushy on the inside and had a weird flavor. I threw it away. I paid $ 10.00 for that dinner.

They aren’t listed anywhere on as proudly serving catfish raised in the USA. If they do serve catfish raised in the USA nobody working there I could find knows about it. I have eaten here 2 – 3 times and always thought it a little odd. Really small fillets, nobody there speaks english when you ask where the seafood actually comes from. I will say the red beans and rice are pretty good as is the entertainment from the live band in the parking lot. In my opinion the live music is the best thing about this place. Pass on this place and go down to Catfish Sam’s or somewhere else. Every time I’ve been to Jimmy’s it has been in my opinion less than clean to put it mildly and with a non-confirmed origin of their seafood I’d rather take my chances somewhere else.

We stumbled across Jimmy’s when we were looking through our Passbook for a local place to eat. We were very impressed, especially with the prices! I had the shrimp and filet combo and a bowl of gumbo. The cashier offered for me to try the gumbo before I bought it. One taste and I was sold. Belinda had the filet and oyster combo. The catfish and shrimp were especially fresh with a great tasting seasoning. The oysters were good but maybe a little small. We both loved the hush puppies. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

We ate here a few weeks back when we were seriously craving some catfish. I’d been here a few years back and it was great. The catfish baskets where big enough to share, came with fresh sliced tomatoes and the fish was awesome. This last time we went we had catfish, frog legs, clam chowder and seafood gumbo. They were out of calamari, thank god because I hate chewy rubber bands. The gumbo I had was bland and looked like rice in dirty water with random bits of fish and shrimp. Not tasty at all. The clam chowder, on the other hand, was pretty good. The frog legs were terrible. They had absolutely no flavor, no seasoning, and they were over cooked. The catfish they served us was questionable at best. Maybe they had too much fish in a small fryer. Parts of the filets were cooked okay and the other end would have a strange rubbery texture catfish should never have. Personally I think the place needs to be remodeled, get a real menu, real servers and real cooks. It could be so much better than what it is.

Catfish here is always fresh and good. I enjoy taking my kids there to eat. Last time I went there was a guy out front that was a one man band. That was cool.

Just about the best catfish I have ever eaten. Great corn meal batter, nice and crisp. Fish fresh and moist, and large filets. Shrimp to die for, largest I’ve seen in a long time. Gumbo right out of New Orleans, dark and spicy. The only thing that keeps me from giving five stars are the fries. Really good and crisp, but frozen. Fresh cut would give this place five stars. But I will be back, again, and again. Highly recommended. Nicole R. needs to go back to her juice bars, she’s not ready for Texas fried catfish.

Had a voucher from . I ordered 2 pieces of catfish and a salad which was $ 7.00. They could have at least gave me more salad and the two croûton thing? Funny. My catfish was good and I did get full but probably because I juice most days of the week so I have a small stomach. I don’t think it would have filled up a stomach used to eating that type of food all the time. My husband had catfish, shrimp hush puppies and fries. Hush puppies were disgusting(that is being nice). Shrimp had the same batter as the fish and that is strange to me. The fries tasted like the generic frozen kind from Wal-Mart. My daughter had the cheeseburger and fries. She had one bite of the cheeseburger and refused to eat the rest. By the looks of it I don’t blame her. Her cheeseburger looked as though it had been sitting out since last night. She asked me if I wanted everything on it but only got a burger with a squirt of ketchup and one pickle. The atmosphere reminded me of the backwoods of Alabama but that is my fault because I ventured into unknown territory. I think I will stick to Arlington restaurants. I will say that I have been spoiled by Doan’s seafood in Arlington so maybe my expectations were a little too high. As for the voucher, they charged me 15% gratuity because she said with the voucher I am paying little to nothing so they have to find a way to get some type of money. LOL. I thought that was the whole point of the voucher. We use the vouchers to test out new restaurants and this one did not make the cut. Did I mention I now have a slimy taste in my mouth. But again, I eat extremely healthy throughout the rest of the week so maybe my body is just rejecting it. If you have another choice go there. Let this place be a last ditch effort. This is also a BYOB place.

Had pretty high hopes for a place with catfish in the name. Fried stuff was pretty good. The catfish was definitely good. Not a super fishy taste, good size and piping hot & good batter. I didn’t like the same batter on the shrimp which was pounded pretty thin. Fries were standard fare, good complement. Overall, it was good. I’d definitely go back for some more catfish.
