Worst dinner I have ever had! Fish was under-seasoned, carrots were cooked to mush and«Alfredo» pasta was lukewarm linguine swimming in butter — no Parmesan or cream at all. Service was awful too. Don’t waste your money.

The fish and seafood here are the best you’re going to enjoy on the Western Slope! Yes, it does take a little longer, that’s what they consider it fine dining as opposed to fast food! What a wonderful, friendly atmosphere to spend the evening! This is the way it’s supposed to be for a special night out!

My wife threw up 15 minutes after eating the oysters. And all night after that. Our waiter was unprofessional. Leaning against the wall next to our booth to take our order. That is not taught where I come from.

Food was really excellent. Service was great but went with someone that knew the owner.

We dined at this restaurant last night. The service was ATROCIOUS! We were with a party of 20, which guaranteed a 20% gratuity. The servers were extremely late with appetizers and you can forget about drinks(except the water glass that was filled upon arrival). The potato that came with the $ 28 small prime rib was cold. The carrots were hard and barely cooked. This is an overpriced and under-serviced restaurant. I will never go back to this establishment,

The place could use some major remodeling but we went solely for the happy hour. No crowds, good drinks, and the homemade chips with salsa was FANTASTIC. Bartender was very sweet. Three stars is for the bartender and chips. Otherwise, not much to praise. It’s too bad because this place used to be THE place to go for a classy dinner.

We had dinner last night and had a great experience. We ordered walleye and Mediterranean shrimp for entrees, escargot and calamari for apps. Of course the apps were awesome as usual. The waitress was fantastic she did a great job without being at our table every second. The Mediterranean shrimp was not prepared as well as I would have expected but the large shrimp were perfectly cooked. The reason I say this is a bunch of the noodles were stuck together, and I consider this a rookie mistake. The walleye was Ok but for Grand Junction it was good. I am harsh on this as I grew up catching walleye and it is never as good as that. I did enjoy having the place to ourselves. It is off the beaten path but always have had a great time and much better seafood then the corporate competition. Thanks again and see you all again soon. PS have to try the calamari as it is one of the best in the area in my opinion.

I really enjoy the food at Garfield’s. It reminds me of the old steak houses from the past :) Never had bad service, friendly staff too. Every restaurant has its ups and downs. People, you can not judge a place one time. Just like you can’t judge GJ for its appearance when you drive through the town, talking litter and trashy looking yards and homes. Have to experience more of it. :)

Not worth the price. I had the salmon and it had a large tough strip running through it. The fresh vegetable was sour canned green beans with raw almonds sprinkled on top! Waitstaff disappeared. I won’t be back.

Good rib eye — properly cooked. Fries good. Clam chowder(NE style) was good — a little salty but I like it that way. Friendly, informal, prompt service. Not expensive.

The last 2 times I’ve been at this restaurant the steaks came out well done when I ordered medium rare, and the salmon was way over cooked also. Mediocre«high end» restaurant.

Don’t order the king crab legs, tough, over cooked, two legs were empty, told the waitress, gave her the shells to show the cook. When we were leaving she offered me more. The whole place is shabby, the carpet is filthy. Nothing was very good, not worth the high prices. Used to be a nice place years ago, not anymore. We won’t be back, this was our third recent try.

I came to Garfield’s expecting what they advertised… A fine dining experience. What I received was little more than a honky tonk diner. Plastic menus was my first impression and cold food was the final. I give two stars because my waitress was very friendly, however, the entire event was decidedly sub-par.

Very poor service food was over priced, food was cold when we finally got it. We saw our waiter three times, at the seating when we ordered, when they served us .we ordered coffee for after dinner it never did show up. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We walked in and saw a table of four white haired ladies enjoying coffee and chatting. This set the tone of what to expect as we were seated. I ordered a cup of coffee and the Chorizo Big Breakfast and it was good. There are only so many restaurant choices in Grand Junction for brunch and we exhausted our NEW choices quickly while living there for 13 months. My wife and I enjoy trying new restaurants anywhere we are traveling or living. The service at Garfield’s was so so, but it was a slow weekend morning and the service reflected. This is a local neighborhood joint where the staff knows everyone by name and I’m sure clientele does not expect to be in a hurry or anywhere to be. In response to the other reviews about Garfield’s, a client of mine recommended I take my wife here as it was their favorite restaurant, mind you they are 70 years old, but I had to accept a restaurant referral just for that only reason. We were not disappointed at all in our visit, we enjoyed the refreshingly unique and minutely different way they ran their successful and loyal based business.

Very poor service, food very pricey for quality, food generally warm to cold when it finally arrives, wait staff untrained. Based on 3 visits. Won’t be going back for another visit.

We visited Garfield’s for dinner and apparently folks without a reservation are treated quite differently from the«regulars». The hostess walked our party of three past the dining area and seated us in a large room where an after-work group of a dozen or so was having a noisy get together. The waitress took our orders and that was the last we saw of her. Another server brought our food to the table and left. No drink refills, no check to see if everything was OK. After we finished dinner and waited ten minutes with no attention, I had to get up and go ask for the check. The food? I had a passable platter, my wife’s «fruits of the sea» was bland, and my daughter’s shrimp came straight out of a freezer. For the prices charged, we have had much better food and service elsewhere. I’m not eager to return to Garfield’s, even if it is one of the few«seafood» restaurants in Grand Junction.
