Best burger I have had in a long time. They use good beef. Steak and shrimp also great

The food here is great, plus you get a lot for your money! This little place has tons of character as well.

It was busy when we walked in and so we were thinking it was going to be good. We were wrong! We had to wait 30 minutes for our food, which was not correct. My friend order buffalo wings and said they were gross. The fries are too skinny and they were out of the first 2 things I tried to order. Wait staff was decent but did not receive refills even after asking.

GREAT menu with a variety of different options. The Philly Willy cheesesteak is a favorite, as is the catfish. Best shrimp in town! And the burgers are exceptional. But if the food and fun atmosphere isn’t good enough, the owner, Willie Jensen, is a hoot! Real salt of the earth kinda guy. Why go to Chili’s when you have a great mom and pop joint here in town?

I am bumping it up to 4 stars. Today was a good trip. The fried pickles and catfish weren’t over fried. I tried The Hater, it’s legit. Cheeseburger with jalapeños, onions, and country fried bacon. Give it a shot, don’t plan on eating else that day.

What in the? I have heard such great things about this place that I dragged my husband here tonight. What was I thinking? I wreak of grease! I have to say the service was good. I cannot fault the girl for that. But otherwise, I do not get the attraction! Everything is fried! Fried fried fried. And where were the steaks that we have been hearing about? Not on the menu we got. I have to give it 1 star because my husband’s hamburger was pretty good. We, however, did not like all of the cabbage! He was expecting pico de gallo with his Sante Fe burger but it was sorely lacking. My crab cakes platter was two fried generic Sysco crab cakes(certainly not anything that resembled homemade), thin cut fries and coleslaw. Coleslaw was dry and crab cakes were bland. He lucked out with the draft beer, but my «white» wine, chardonnay, was a chenin blanc at best. Yes, I know, it’s not a wine place, but this was sweet and… not good. Can’t remember the last time I was so disappointed in a choice I made.

The burger was so greasy the bottom bun was completely soaked! We didn’t even eat our fries or coleslaw because both tasted so bad. The fries were cut, uncooked potatoes and the coleslaw literally tasted like hairspray. The waitress was so very rude. She acted as though it was a bother for her that we were there. Slightly overpriced for the amount you are getting. WAY overpriced for the quality with what you are getting. We will NEVER go back. It was that bad! I usually give places another chance, but given the food was so terrible and then the bad attitude of the waitress to top it off– it’s a never-go-back kind of place!

I worked food service for years and it just goes with the territory that if someone comes in at 10 minutes before closing — you seat them… Period… Especially if you close at the early hour of 8:00 on Saturday night… What a disappointment to be turned away with my family. If you aren’t going to seat customers — then at least turn your outside lights off!!!

Willie & Dick’s Grill has been on my radar for a long time, ever since we went to Guerin Nurseries( ) just down the road. Yesterday(Wednesday) I finally got my chance to check it out. The first thing I can say is the inside is not at all what we expected(Dad and me). I think we were both expecting some generic vinyl-booth laden interior, whereas once inside, we felt like we were sitting in a dockside Tiki hut. A very eclectic variety of decorations hung from the walls. Overhead was the underside of a thatched roof(sort of). The menu is a collection of burgers, po’ boys, fried seafood and salads. The first thing that caught my eye was the fried oysters. The second thing the Santa Fe Green Chili hamburger. I asked our server for help on deciding and she said it was a no brainer… Due to the BP Gulf Oil Disaster, they have no oysters, so burger it is. Dad goes for the cheese-steak(I think it’s called a «Williecheesesteak» on the menu). We augment with a side of onion rings for sharing. Food arrives. Very decent burger. Would have liked more chilies, but it was OK. Onion rings struck me as the freezer to the fryer variety, so nothing special. Dad’s cheese-steak, while good, left a bit of grease in the bottom of the basket. So by now you may be thinking, «OK, so why 4 stars?» I would say on food alone Willie & Dick’s is a very solid A-OK, but it has a couple other things going for it that I really like: 1. Locally owned and operated. I’m not a chain guy, so I appreciate Willie & Dick’s. 2. And this is the kicker: FREEBEER! That’s right, Willie & Dick’s has a keg of Keystone on tap and every(adult) customer can have two FREE glasses of beer. You gotta love that. Oh, it’s also BYOB if you don’t want the free Keystone. So both my Dad and I agreed, this is one place we will be back to. Oh, and for those of you who know Granbury, Willie & Dick’s is opening a second location in the old Rio Grande Café( ). I was told this new location will have a full bar(so no free beer here) and will also be serving breakfast. I can’t wait to try it out. Should be opening in about a month. I hope those new public boat slips will bring them a lot of business. PS. I said«Outdoor Seating: No», as there’s no place to sit with sky over your head, but there is an enclosed porch of sorts, which also has a smoking section off to the side. It was a bit warm, but might be nice in the cooler months.
