Woodys is hands down my husbands and kids first choice to eat. My kids love the wings covered in their bbq sauce hold the hot sauce. I really enjoy The Mother Clucker and my husband loves it all. But what really got me was the service and food at a wedding we recently attended. The staff was on it. Fresh and hot food was on the buffet line. They constanly cleared trash and plates from the tables. Very impressed with both the catering and restaurant.

pretty shocked this place has such a low rating, used to come here all the time in college(almost 10 years ago, yeesh). me and my roommates loved this place. great food and arcade games. maybe its changed? not sure but figured id throw in my two cents. i never had the bbq, but the muleskinner is one of the best bbq burgers ive had, and the fries that come with it are really really good too, but the wings, man, the wings were fantastic. get em as hot as they come, nuclear waste is what they call it, dont worry its not that hot but super tasty. good for dipping those fries too.

Not very good. Fries were even bad. $ 9.95 for a very mediocre«pulled pork» sandwich. And no beef briscuit?

First time here. Came here yesterday night. Had the Bullwhacker, which was delicious it had a good amount of tri tip, the cheese was perfectly melted right on the sandwich the un onion rings gave it a bit of crispyness the lettuce and tomato was not soggy. I really enjoyed it. The fries that comes with it seemed like they were old and were put back in the fryer they were ok even though they were greasy, hard and looked old. I just ate the ones that didn’t look like that. The ladies restroom was awful, it stunk so bad like someone died in there. It was dirty… someone needs to go in there and clean it. Also staff wasnt friendly, that’s why it gets 3 stars

The people here are so awesome to me! I really love the baby back ribs, and the potions are ridiculous(so props to that). I like their potato salad too… I am salivating just thinking about this place. It’s also a very casual atmosphere. It doesn’t need the random arcade games, but whatever it takes to entertain the kids that roam around there!!!

A uninspired spot that claims to be serving quality BBQ. All I can say to that is: bleh. Clearly there is no local competition, or this place would have been run into the ground. And clearly the locals who support this place, don’t know better. Brisket is on the outside menu… though they stopped doing brisket long ago. Tri-tip, which is a RELIGION on the Central Coast, was embarrassing, and blasé. Last, the BBQ sauce: is TERRIBLE. They tried to get inventive by adding clove or some other off-putting spice, but it failed miserably. I didn’t try their ribs or other fair, since if you can’t get basic BBQ sauce down, and can’t do a simple thing like tri-tip correctly — WHYEVENBOTHER? This place survives on older clientele, and ignorant consumers who sadly don’t know any better. The interior design is kitschy and horrid, and my suggestion to you is: just keep on moving… nothing to see here.

BBQ is a mystery cuisine in this part of California, so diners are often unsure of what to expect. Most places claim BBQ, but sell nothing but tri-tip. Woody’s, however, has more than tri-tip, so I was curious about trying it. I have to say that if you order delivery, DONOT get the French fries, because they will be soggy and unappetizing by the time they get to you. However, I got the half BBQ chicken and it was a lot of food, enough for two meals. I also thought the coleslaw was pretty good too. I would like to stop in some time and try the other items. P. S. Pro tip: Best BBQ in California is Salinas City BBQ. Try the brisket.

GROSS. This was fucking awful, l and i thought Killer B’s was bad. I ordered their«st. louis ribs» and mac n cheese. The macaroni was definatly craft, however, it was the best part of my meal. The ribs were disgusting. Instead of using a smoker, I’m pretty sure they stuck them in the oven for 20 minutes and then covered them in their version of a nasty ketchup«barbecue sauce.» My boyfriend ordered a different plate of ribs and had the same experience. Both of our meals became food for the dogs and even they seemed hesitant to try, haha. We left extremely disappointed and will never be back.

What’s happened to this place. Ordered my tri-tip medium in the hope that it might be more moist. It was dry and the crust tasted like bad pastrami. Won’t be back

I ordered the tri-tip sandwich lunch special. Didn’t taste BBQ’d, it tasted boiled. No Juices or seasoning. The cow it came from must be rolling in its grave. Fries were OK. I was really hoping to get WOWed. Too bad :(

Stepping into this place, I was surprised by the nice interior. Kinda wondering about the bad reviews so I gotta try for myself. So I bought the $ 10 for $ 20 Unilocal deal n went for it. There’s actually a takeout entrance that takes you to a special takeout counter on the left side of building. I went to the main counter to order n pay. Got the original roadhouse cooked medium and a large order of nuclear waste wings. They will let you try the sauce if you’re not sure about the spice level. I waited at a table and they brought my order out to me. Service is nice, restaurant seemed deathly slow during lunch hours. Anyway, I got home n tried the original roadhouse steak n that was delicious. The sides weren’t bad, I liked the Coke slaw better than macaroni salad. The nuclear waste wings were a bit over fried n dry, kinda hard when you bite in. The sauce was very good though. I think if they tweaked the quality of their food, perhaps that’ll automatically drum up business. Tip: make sure to get some of their Woody’s BBQ sauce with your takeout. Also, there’s a basic salad bar if you dine in. Looks really basic.

Seriously, what’s with all the ridiculously low ratings for this place?! Good food, good service, clean restaurant! I got a BBQ beef sandwich, my dad got a tri-tip sandwich, both tasted great! The fries are crispy and reminiscent of Islands fries. They have 2 tasty bbq sauces you can add to your meal. Prices are reasonable. Don’t listen to these stupid 1 star ratings that’s just ridiculous! The staff here is friendly and service prompt. We had a great experience here.

Chicken sandwich was super salty I couldn’t eat it. Salad bar ingredients were old and soggy. Over price for what you get!

What’s with all the bad reviews people? This is the spot in Goleta if you want to get you some good barbecue, period! I mean when you walk into this place it just streams barbecue like the places you would see in Arkansas or Missouri with old signs and license plates all of the walls and I think it’s like an old telephone booth or something and the food is bombastic as are the different barbecue sauces which I like the tangy and spicy one. The best deal in town was Monday nights when they used to have the all-you-can-eat barbecue and I don’t know if they’re still doing it but that is the best deal ever! I don’t care what anybody says when I’m in this part of town I’m usually going to get barbecue because that’s all I can think of when I start getting close to Woody’s!

AVOIDTHISPLACEATALLCOSTS! The worst so called BBQ we ever ate in our life! We ordered take out and ordered a chicken dinner and a pulled pork sandwich. Both came with fries. The chicken looked delicious but was so dry and flavorless we threw it out. The pork sandwich was served on a huge bun and it was barely two tablespoons of meat. Neither meats had any smoke flavor and the pork appeared boiled. The fries were supposed to be «freshly hand cut» but were nearly black and cold and had been cooked for some time. NEVERGOINGBACK!

My buddy had remembered the ribs at this place being awesome a year ago, but with all the negative reviews, we nearly by passed this place. It would have been a big mistake. The ribs were great. The beef ribs: Slow cooked, tender, flavorful. The pork ribs were tender, juicy, and I wanted more. The sausage: Spicy, perfect casing snap, and delicious. The sauce is tangy, raspberry based and perfectly complements the meat. I am afraid that those used to Kraft BBQ sauce and backyard grills may not appreciate this kind of BBQ, but we found no issue with it and would gladly return.

Please note… this was not my choice for lunch. But I was hopeful that it would be better than my last visit. First, the food. They were out of brisket and we were informed that they will no longer be serving it. I opted for a chicken sandwich that was the nastiest thing I have ever tried to eat. Hard and chewy chicken breast, nasty sauce, durkee onion things, cheese and bacon, aka«The MotherClucker». My poor veins. I’m so sorry. The service, forget about that, uninterested and snarky. Why is this place still in business? Sell me some signs and be done with it.

My theory as to why this place has been able to stay open for so long is because they host Friday Football Focus(High School Football Show) or at least they used to. Honestly, if you never go out of Santa Barbara I could understand why you might think it’s «best» BBQ and that’s because it’s the only BBQ place in town. It’s kind of like falling in love with the first girl you date and because you don’t know any better you assume she’s the«best». I’ve gone here multiple times throughout the years and I always remember them as eye rolling experiences. Recently, I had a buy one get one free voucher(thanks verizon) so I decided to go and see if they had upped themselves from the last time I had gone(2 years ago). We ordered the cheeseburger with onion rings and the tri-tip sandwich with fries. The food is just bad, not terrible but just bad. The first things that jump out at me are the taste of the fries and onion rings. The fries were very hard to chew on, they’re hard on the outside and soggy in the inside. The onion rings were the same, very hard(not to be confused with crunchy). Secondly, the tri-tip sandwich was snack size, anything my girlie can finish in full is too small! I had a bite of it and it’d be considered a little below average even if it was being ordered at a non BBQ place, the bread was: s but I’d like to think that was the free entrée item for the voucher that I had, so I won’t go in on it too much. The burger wasn’t anything to smile about(4⁄10). The meat was okay the bread once again was a major letdown. There service is whatever. Not much energy from the cashier, their manager was a bit more warm. The place is clean though and I’ll give them that(bathroom included) I’ve given this place too many chances, unless my son or daughter(keeping it p/c) who don’t even exist yet, play high school football and I’m forced to go there for a post game celebration then maybe, just maybe I’ll give it another chance. Final say: The food certainly does not live up to the price and let’s thank the voucher for saving Woody’s from yet another 1 star performance. wait no change of mind.
