This place is closed. Taking applications for new management is what the sign in the window says. I bet it’s good, but never actually had the chance to try it. Maybe next time!

Although I like getting food here, occasionally, tonight I checked online to see what time they closed. Website says 9:30pm on Friday. I drove down to get some food to go, as I get there the guy is closing up the place and says they are closed. Either he doesn’t know the hours of business or doesn’t give a fu¢|(. So I just told him the hours online say they close at 9:30pm and he said, we’ll fix that. I think it’ll be a long while until I’m back at this place. I guess now it makes sense why they are closing and a new restaurant is opening in its place.

I highly recommend the fish tacos. Rosarito burrito with chicken is also very good. I like to go for lunch and sit out in the sunshine.

Just meh, but on the better side of meh. I’ve had a few tacos here and they’re just okay. There are better tacos to be had for cheaper. At least they’re flavorful. My friends were less than thrilled with their meals, though, complaining about the mediocrity of the enchiladas(«they’re just tacos in a sauce») and the nachos. Honestly, I wouldn’t make a habit of this place, but it’s not inedible either. Also, as an aside, I was here on Taco Tuesday without realizing it and ordered two tacos. The cashier did not give me the discounted price, but I didn’t know to ask for it because it was my first time in. I ended up not getting the discount. I’m not honestly going to cry over ~$ 3, but the cashier should be more cognizant of the discounts offered and apply them automatically, not just when asked to.

This place has awesome Taco Tuesday! All of their tacos are delicious. They also have 2 Pacificos for $ 3.50 on Tuesdays… makes the deal even sweeter. You can’t go wrong here if you want a cheap yummy meal and a couple of beers. I love sitting out on the patio.

This is one of the few places I crave. I’ve been coming here for years(I used to live down the street) and this review is based on 30+ experiences. The food is very consistent, which is great for a Mexican restaurant, and the salsa bar is AMAZING. Honestly, the roasted pepper salsa is a little spicy(not that bad) but something about it always makes me want to come back. You can put that stuff on anything and food goes from good to flavorful and amazing! My favorites here are the Rosarito burrito(they’ll add extra quac for free if you ask nicely), the enchiladas, and the torta. The burrito is a staple and what I typically order, enchiladas are the best I’ve had for a fast-food type establishment, and the torta is one of the best I’ve had anywhere. I would say the torta is the most under appreciated item on their menu. I’ve had many a torta in my life and traditional places where the torta is the specialty — Baja Grill’s torta is better than all of them. Try it and hopefully you’ll have as good of an experience as I have. On a side note, I believe this place is now owned by the Natural Café so that will give you an idea of what to expect with respect to quality.

Place is alright, food is good, salsa bar rules. Price is meh except on Tuesdays, two dollar tacos are great!

Best Carnitas tacos paired with the best spicy salsas I’ve ever had. I always buy a bag of chips with my meal. Great location, good prices. I used to eat there all the time if not everyday.

New Baja Grill is a great place to get reasonably priced, but delicious food. We’ve been coming here for a while and the food is consistently delicious. We’ve had their carne asada tacos(on Taco Tuesdays) which were a bit small, but quite flavorful. It would be ideal to get 3, but you need to order them in pairs. They are rather simple, but satisfying. Typically we will get the Carnitas Burrito. It’s one of the better burritos in Santa Barbara. It comes with your choice of black or pinto beans and is very flavorful. It’s a reasonably priced entrée that is quite filling. The ingredients aren’t quite as fresh tasting as other Mexican restaurants in the area, but definitely better than most. It’s also nice that it comes with a side of chips so you can enjoy the salsa bar. One of the things that shines here is the salsa bar. They only have 5 – 6 salsas, but what they do have is fantastic. My favorite is the roasted pepper salsa as it has a bold flavor with enough spice to be perfect on both chips and the Carnitas Burrito. Their avocado salsa is also fantastic and pairs nicely with the roasted pepper salsa. It’s a bit small, but on par for the other places next door. It has a nice patio seating area and is generally where we will sit as it’s a nice area to just be outside and enjoy the surroundings. All in all, this is definitely a place to try, especially since there aren’t that many restaurants in Goleta. It’s a perfect place to grab a bite to eat before catching a movie at the theater nearby!

Think Baja Fresh meets more Southwest feel. Delicious salads — the chicken was seasoned and grilled perfectly. The salad fixings were very fresh and bright. Oh, and they have Orange and Pineapple Bang! Do you know how hard it is to find Pineapple Bang?!! I haven’t seen it in ages.

3.5 stars! I came here for lunch with a co-worker and got the California burrito. Carne asada, fries, what more could you want?! They have several good salsas: most of which have a little kick, and yes, I’ve heard people say«want some FOOD with that salsa?!» What can I say? I like salsa! And this place makes some good ones! The burritos always come with tortilla chips.(Yes! another conduit for me to slurp up that salsa! ahem, ok this salsa business is getting a little out of hand.) The burrito itself is the size of my forearm. My burrito was a little heavy on the french fry side. I was hankering for a more even balance, but it was still quite tasty. The marinade for the carne asada is yummy. In fact, when my friend listed this place as a suggestion for food, my first response was«was this were we got the CA burrito?!» Once he confirmed, that’s where we went! They have indoor and outdoor seating, which is great, because otherwise it could get crowded in there quickly. Great place for lunch!

Great prices, great food. I always get the Chicken Torta(it has avocado!). They have an horchata machine which though it is just syrup and water, it is much better than all the watered down horchata any place in Santa Barbara has. Plus, who doesn’t like free horchata refills? Amazing. I wish one of these opened up downtown Santa Barbara.

Decent food. Was traveling through town and had my 16lb dog with me. Was sitting at their tables 15ft from their door and they asked me to leave. Too bad my boyfriend had already gone inside to order. No other food places in center had signs stating no dogs but them. They blamed on Health Department. Interesting that a dog can’t be outside in an open area!

Although the food was good, this review is for their customer service. On the way out of town my boyfriend and I stopped here for a couple of California burritos. We were in a hurry to get on the road but decided to quickly eat there. I placed my purse over my chair, ate, and left without my purse because I obviously wasn’t thinking. About an hour down the road I realized it was missing and proceeded to freak the f**** out. We called the restaurant and described the purse to a super friendly girl who told me it was still there! It had my iphone, wallet, house keys, basically everything important in it. She was unbelievably nice and reassuring that it was safe. Luckily I was able to have my friend come pick it up for me before they closed, and even she remarked how friendly she was. She was also careful to ask my friend my name to make sure she didn’t give the purse to the wrong person. Another person could have easily been rude about me basically crying asking her to see if my phone was still in there, but she was so nice and understanding. I’m so grateful to you guys at Baja Grill! You saved my butt!

The New Baja Grill is really underestimated. I found them quite good and filling for the price. Great place for a quick meal! Not a fan of their tacos, but try the Rosarito burrito with Black beans and avocado salsa! Oh, and the chips are ALWAYS fresh!

Better than expected Mexican food! I thought this would be your run-of-the-mill Baja Fresh situation, but this was not the case! I tried the pescado(fish) tacos for lunch along with a Rosarito burrito. The fish tacos tasted fresh, especially with lime on the side to spruce things up and fresh cabbage. The burrito was equally delish, but very filling. If you are ordering more things off the menu, you might want to split this with a buddy. They also have three different flavors of horchata available and numerous variations of housemade salsa. Customer service was also very friendly which is always a plus!

Some of the best food you’ll ever eat comes from small, hole-in-the-wall restaurants that most people wouldn’t even give a second look. Baja Grill is in a large shopping center that makes it easily over-looked by Staples, Costco, and Home Depot. Even though it’s surrounded by huge corporate chain stores, Baja Grill manages to keep the«family owned» look and feel. The ambiance is casual and unassuming with plain white walls and bright colors on the menus hanging above the register. The menu has the typical Mexican classics like tacos and burritos. I’d heard the fish taco were delicious so I went with that. The fish was fresh and had a lot of flavor and the veggies were crisp. They have a sauce bar where you can take your pick between multiple different levels of spiciness. I got the hottest one and it was pretty weak. I love spicy food, and although the sauce was really good, it didn’t pack quite the amount of punch I was looking for. Baja Grill is a nice casual lunch or early dinner spot in a low key area of town. But be warned, even though it’s in a small suburb, the parking lot can get crazy on weekends!

Quick and easy, no nonsense taqueria that’s perfect for lunch while navigating Marketplace Drive. I usually order the pescado/fish taco which is excellent bit I’m going outside of my comfort zone with Los Cabos burrito/fish burrito. Same great fish but in flower tube of love and rice. Pretty darn good but it does not stop there. The salsa bar is amazing. Load up on mild, medium or hot hot hot! Good flavors and plenty of it. Yep, I’m a fan. So pull in, order up and our it on. Down a cerveza before you get back to shopping. You’ll be full and happy.
