I come here about every 6 months for the Lobstah Bisque, it is so dang deilcious. I showed up today around 2:30 and the lobster bisque was gone. So sad. As I was walking out the door a sweet employee called me back in and the owner told me he could accommodate my order. I went from sad day to made my day in 2 minutes. The owner is all about what customer service. If you’ve never been, the soup is amazing and the owner deserves the accolades.

Good soup and good food. People running they place seemed really nice also. Pretty crammed on the inside so I would recommend getting your food to go.

The food here is very good. I love the gumbo! However, every time I come in they are always out of the soups that I want. «Sorry we don’t have any more of that soup and we won’t be making anymore.» Another problem that I have encountered at every visit is the owner. He is very rude and short with customers and even worse to his employees. I always feel bad for the employees when I observe the way he talks to them. And I am not surprised when I come in for my next visit and there are new people working. I wouldn’t want to work there either. Overall, the food is great but the owner is the soup nazi(«no soup for you! One year!»

First time here and overall a pretty solid experience. Went during a Friday at lunch and there was absolutely no staffing problems as other reviews mentioned. I had my food in less then 5 minutes after ordering. The soup samples were a nice touch as well. Overall the sandwich, which really should be called a grill cheese, was okay. Buffalo sauce and blue cheese was a nice touch but it needed a layer of freshness. Romaine lettuce, Tomato, purple onion maybe? To me, what I got was an above average grill cheese with nice crispy bread and some buffalo sauce and sliced chicken. The soup was probably the best part. I was planning on getting the bisque but after trying the gumbo, changed my mind. Overall, I would probably revisit, just not when I am looking to satisfy my sandwich cravings.

I like this place. They have my dream sandwich. It’s called the California Croc. You love bacon? You don’t want anything to stand between you and bacon? Here is this simple but awesome sandwich filled with crunchy thick cut bacon, romaine lettuce, fresh tomato on a wheat bread. Definitely the bacon here is the star and not just a supporting role it usually plays to let’s say a turkey meat. A whole sandwich is $ 6.39. Half $ 4.15. I had the half sandwich and broccoli deal. I was full and happy! I will definitely be back!

It’s a family-owned business. Nice soup place. Sandwiches and salads are meh.

Awesome staff they are so sweet and nice. My ma and I had the cheesy croc sandwich and tomato basil soup the soup could have used more cream but other than that delicious sandwiches and soups.

Passing through Golden for a relatively quick bite and this was the only restaurant that seemed to pass the smell test. Walk in be greeted by the friendly owner in this small, narrow vaguely reminiscent chain restaurant. The owner will offer you to sample any of his soups. Do that. I recommend the gumbo — which is absolutely spot on, as well as the chicken pot pie — which is creamier than you might expect and reminds you of an elevated version of that traditional dish. The soups are on point, and I’m not even a soup guy. The sandwiches(half of the menu) are unfortunately underwhelming and noticeably skimpy on the ingredients. Otherwise a very high score

The food is below subpar. They don’t use quality ingredients which is probably why the meal is very inexpensive. They do have good customer service. If you aren’t too picky about what you eat and want a cheap meal then come here.

A refreshing and unique alternative to the quick-serve genre. Croc Soup has a truly unique menu with its soup being the best around. Every time I’m near Golden I make a point to stop here for lunch. Choosing between Tortilla Soup, Gumbo(aka Croc Soup) and Broccoli Gruyère is my biggest challenge. Ask for a sample to find your favorite before you order. Their sandwiches – all served panini style – are great and unique as well. I wish they had a location closer to Denver. Regardless, it’s worth the trip every time! The owner is always there and makes a point to ask about your meal… another unique and rare experience. The parking lot can be a bit tight during peak lunch hours so I always try to go a bit early or late. But get there early on Fridays when they serve Lobster Bisque or you may miss out… yum!

The décor and catchy name with a logo caught my attention. I wish i had tried the soup, but i just went with the Tastey Croc sandwich. It was delicious and served hot and crispy. I would give 4 stars if the customer service was little more upbeat. Its a decent place to grab a quick causal bite to eat.

Staying in Golden overnight. Trying to find something to eat and arguing with with family! They wanted the pizza place next door I wanted soup. Service was awesome and the Gumbo was amazing! Please stop in and say HI sit down and enjoy. Oh… The family was disappointed in their dinner!

This place was ok. I had a soup/salad combo: the Santa Fe chicken salad with the Cheesy Potato Soup. The soup was great, I ate every drop, the salad tasted premade — like it had been in the fridge over night, that said, I would go back and try it again. The sandwiches looked awesome. I was in a hurry that day — and while the cashier wasn’t super helpful when I tried asking questions, my food did get brought out quickly.

Located in a small strip mall near Golden. Went in to get some warm soup and sandwich /salad combo as the weather was quite cold for Southern California based folks visiting. Seemed a bit off — service was lacking — almost ignoring. Salty Croc soup but flavor is good. Chicken Tortilla was OK but not much flavor — sort of watery… Sandwich was meh — had better. Salad was not very good. Prices are a bit high for what you get… And they need to change their attitude towards people who obviously are from out side the state…

Great little spot. Very low-frills to get 5 stars, but I have a very deep appreciation for businesses that know what they do, and they do that. It sounds simple, but it’s not and so many restaurants seem to be all over the place with their menus and that lends itself to the«jack of all trades, master of none» situation that so often happens when businesses lack focus. Not so Croc Soup Company, they have a handful of soups, sandwiches, and salads — and that’s about it and it’s all good. I tried several of their soups and all were excellent but I got lulled by the gastronomic siren song that is their Broccoli Gruyère soup — it will change your life and ruin all other broccoli cheese soups for you. The consistency was that of liquid velvet, which I’m pretty sure isn’t a thing but that’s the only way to describe how rich and smooth that soup was. The nuttiness of the Gruyère came through in the taste and writing this is making me hungry for more even though it’s 70 and sunny out right now. All of their soups are made from family recipes; they start with stocks that they make themselves and work their way up from there to the delicious final product that is served steaming hot out of the open prep/service area, next to an absolutely immaculate kitchen. Each soup is labeled as to whether it is vegetarian, gluten-free, etc — a nice touch for those with specific dietary concerns. Hidden little gem tucked away next to the Drivers License office, so next time you’re making a Home Depot run, skip the hot dog guy and grab a bowl of soup!

I’ve seen this place for years and only recently started eating here. As a soup company, you’d expect them to get this right but they’ve gone beyond my expectation with some delicious comfort food. The broccoli gruyère is simply delicious and I’ve also greatly enjoyed their gumbo and potato soup.

Just when I couldn’t love their gumbo or chicken pot pie soup(and chocolate chip cookies) more — the owner acquires a high chair(he also has a booster seat too). This may just be my new fave restaurant. What could be more perfect than healthy, fresh, hydrating, nourishing soup and a cookie with a baby? Awesome.
