Woolstock Knit & Sew

I love Woolstock Knit and Sew. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They are patient, kind and did I say patient? The owner Lesley, and the manager Maura, love what they do and it shines throughout the store. The yarns are luxurious and so much fun to knit. My favorite is the Knit Club on the last Tuesday of the month. You can kit along on a common project or knit your own piece. Everyone who attends is friendly and willing to answer any question. If you are a beginner or an experience knitter this is the place to be.

The staff in this store is excellent. I have received help from all of them at one time or another, either in yarn selection for a project or when I have come in, panic stricken about a pattern that just wasn’t working out. They’re helpful, friendly and soothing on frazzled knitting nerves. BUT the only reason I didn’t give this five stars is because the owner is the antithesis of the help. Usually the attitude of the owner trickles down to the staff, but in this case, the staff could really teach the owner a few things about customer service. Although I had been in many times previously, I had never seen her in the store before and she went off on a rant because the materials for the project I brought into the store weren’t purchased there. Never mind that I had paid for «doctor knitting» to help me resolve a previous problem and never mind that I had dropped over $ 200 the week before for some other future projects. She ultimately apologized after I angrily «explained» all of that and, maybe she was just having a bad day, so I’ll try not to let this color my overall, very positive experiences there. I’ll say again, the staff of this store is excellent. The selection of yarns, definitely sensory overload; ditto for pattern selection.
