Poor service and bad beer. Unable to serve beer due to tap cleaning during open hours. English IPA was bad and bartender too busy talking to exchange. Move on down Main Street for better service with less attitude.

Good food, nice wine list. Excellent ambience. Plus there is a bar next door with live entertainment on many nights. This place is big, modern, with a fireplace. Recommended.

The ambiance and architectural delights are many. I’m giving only two stars because the price for the food that you get is ridiculous. The cocktail prices can be compared with in city bars and restaurants in Boston and New York City, $ 10 +. Come on guys. 2 people a few drinks and two appetizers and an $ 80 tab plus tip. Sorry to say it’s just not affordable place to go.

Pricey & Average We had a burger, fish & chips, and the dining partner had a soda. $ 37. That’s pricey for around here, especially for food that isn’t better than ok. The fish and chips were very greasy and the size of the portion of fish relatively small, compared to other restaurants in Gloucester. The tartar sauce was unique and delicious — it had a bit of a kick. The burger was ok but nothing outstanding either. It was touted on the menu as having a bacon and jalapeño jam [these ‘jams’ seem to be all the rage on burgers lately], but it didn’t have any bite. The fries on both plates weren’t food service [described as ‘hand cut’ on the menu], but rapidly turned limp and greasy. The fish and chips were accompanied by coleslaw. All 2 tablespoons of it were very good. Minglewood turns into a hopping bar/music venue at night but they’ve done a good job making the street side part of the bar feel restaurant like. Service was bizarre … attentive sometimes, totally distracted at others. We had a meeting to get to and our food came out of the kitchen quickly but then the waitress seemed to forget us, even though there was only 1 other table there for an early dinner. The check was delivered to the table and she hung out in the kitchen …

Decent. The décor is upscale funky and food and drink menu is diverse for Gloucester. A good spot to bring folks from out-of-town who want seafood if you have others who prefer pub standards. Service is not the most attentive, though. On two recent visits we brought out-of-towners(one time to Latitude 43) and they were«out» of lobster with no mention of this by the servers when menus were delivered to the table. Disappointing. Had the $ 23 steak frites which were overpriced with a lot of gristle. Location is convenient, crowd is eclectic and the place is usually busy. Probably one of the better options in Gloucester waterfront area that doesn’t smell like a greasy fish fry or dive bar.

Ten bucks for a thimble sized cup with something that resembles a margarita in it? I would have tried the food but my butt was hurting so bad from the drink prices I couldn’t sit at the bar. No thanks. Never again.

Why must I wait in one spot at the bar for a drink? This ignores the entire design of a beautiful oval bar. Once I get my drink why can’t it be what I ordered. «Two blue moons, one stout and a cider» do not seem to be an order that would be served as a stout, two bud lights with orange slices and a non cider disgusting beer… One out of four isn’t bad… I guess… Wait, no, it’s actually terrible in any aspect of life. …terrible bar staff, good sushi, inconsistent pizza and a identity struggle between a grateful dead vibe stage with techno beat DJs. HIT or MISS. When they are on their game it’s a great experience but when they have an off night it is terrible.

All items on the menu are delicious! By far the best chicken wings I have ever eaten. Great beer selection and they regularly rotate their beers. Good atmosphere! Great food!

Walked in here to watch one of the Red Sox playoff games awhile ago. No one greeted us when we walked in even though we were standing at the door for a good minute and the bartenders even made eye contact with us. They weren’t busy — there were only a few tables. We decided to sit ourselves at a table, again eye contact with the bartenders, and STILL no one came over to give us menus or even tell us they would be with us in a minute, so we left. Terrible service, or lack thereof.

So just wrapped up dinner here. I had the fish tacos. Holy hell in heaven. I have ha fish tacos before but these were fish tacos taken to a gourmet level at an upscale pub. I was truly impressed by them and have a new standard to compare other fish tacos against. Great ingredients, spices, ample fish.

Came here for happy hour and I was impress with their beer selection. They were able to let me sample some of them that they were offerring so I can choose the right one. I ended up drinking the Curious Traveler and it was such a yummy beer. They also offer a beer flight where you can choose 4 — 5 ounce beers so you can sample them. We sat at the bar and had a few appetizers. All the food are reasonable priced and they looked really good. We ordered the sesame calamari, lobster roll, pizza, wings, edamme, and dragon roll. Everyone was pleased and everything tasted very good.

I’ll keep this one short and simple, this place was horrible. Met some friends for beers, as they had a pretty good craft beer list with some winter warmers. Was drinking $ 7 pints of porter, when the server brought me my last beer in a much smaller plastic cup. What’s going on here I inquired, still $ 7 for these? «Yup, the bartenders pour them in these cups when it gets busy.» $ 7 for a Dixie cup of craft beer, after drinking them in glass pints all night, strike one. My wife had ordered a cup of coffee as she was the DD, love her! When she asked for a second cup, she was told they didn’t have any more because the restaurant was closed and the coffee comes from the restaurant. What? A bar with no coffee, connected to a closed restaurant with lots of coffee on the shelves — buy an airpot! Strike two. And here’s the kicker of them all. While in the bathroom, the cook walks in and takes a piss and then walks right back out. Are you kidding me? Check please, strike 3 and you’re out. My friend and I are chefs who have worked in the industry since teenagers, and neither of us have ever had an experience like this. Who’s running this place?

New to the area, my husband and I stumbled into Minglewood Tavern two years ago and immediately developed a pub crush on this place. Why?: 1. The Pandora music selection is of our liking(not your top 40 or elevator music) and they have great live bands. 2. The beer selection is like none other in the north shore. Yum! 3. I can enjoy my sushi, while my husband enjoys his burger or pizza. Perfect match! 4. It’s a chill place with a great atmosphere and phenomenal service. 5. Did I mention the beer selection? or sushi? or burgers? or Pizza! 6. There’s a special every night of the week. Now Minglewood is our go-to place of preference. We know we will always be satisfied with the food options, the music, the atmosphere, and the really friendly staff(who will make you fake sprite zero drinks at your request… hey, it’s bathing suit season).

Minglewood Tavern is one of my favorite local spots. The pub’s atmosphere is warm, the décor’s rustic and unique, and the servers are friendly and efficient. The blacked chicken cobb salad is sensational, and I would also recommend the fire grilled steak tips. Their sushi boat is great for sharing with friends! Brian also has a special ‘beach’ drink that is so yummy! If you want great food and good service, with lots of fun, Minglewood is for you! I would highly recommend to any tourist or new local :)

This is a fun place to visit on a Friday or Saturday night. The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable and they often have live bands. The food was good and the prices were definitely reasonable. It’s a good place for a date or to go with a group of friends. Recommended if you’re in the area!

The princess and I made a day trip to the oldest sea port in the US(go figure huh?) and stopped at this delightful pub for a lunch and the game. This place was great. A large beer and funky drink collection to start made our afternoon. She had a mason jar concoction and I had sipped some of the craft brews. Delicious apps(the truffle fries served on what I swear was a cricket bat) followed up by our entrees(Steak and cheese along with the spicy pineapple pizza) filled the bellies and keep us hydrated. Comfortable seating, great tunes(mix of rock and reggae), friendly staff and fair pricing made this meal worth it. If youre in the area and hungry or thirsty, make this a priority stop. Who knows? Maybe we’ll see you there as we will definately return.

Came here for some brews and oysters. We were eating an early dinner so we had to restrain ourselves from ordering anything else. The guys next to us had the steak tips and a sky high burger. Both arrived on slabs of butcher block. The steak tips looked and smelled fantastic. The burger looked juicy and had all the fixings. I had to angle my chair in the other direction to keep myself from starring and drooling. We will definitely be back for our own tips and burgers! Great beer selection too!

My son and I went there yesterday hoping to get some good sushi. I know, I know what were we thinking. We placed our order and in less than 5 minutes the platter was in front of us — never a good sign, clearly indicating that the maki was premade. The baked scallop roll was inedible; mushy, fishy and cover in a creamy yellow sauce. What? «Nori’s Roll» was supposed to have spicey king crab in it — not sure what was in it as it had no taste; mushy and again they clearly tried to hide its poor qulity by covering it in a too much sticky sweet clear red goo. We also ordered another roll, but honestly we took one bite each and left it. When the bartender came over to ask how everything was we both said«not very good» and he shrugged his shoulders and walked off, seeing over half of our plate pushed to the side untouched. Nope — won’t be back. Frankly we should have known better!
