Latitude 43

Great service, great menu and location.
I took my family for dinner and thru were very impressed with the quality of food and service.

Been here roughly five to six times now. Never disappointed. Visited before having a child and with my child, service and food always very good. Sushi is delicious. The other day I had a very tasty haddock sandwich. Nice to walk downtown, do some shopping and head to lat 43.

A good place to sit outside for drinks and enjoy the view and weather. Seasonal beer taps and sangrias of good variety and pricing as well.
Portions are the complaint of this review. I ordered the seared scallops and for $ 30 i expected to get more than 5 of average size with barely any accompaniment. When you are in the price range of a decent filet mignon with sides included its difficult to make sense of 5 scallops seemingly alone on a plate. The $ 20 lobster sushi roll was also lacking as far as the filler.
All in all a bit overpriced for the portions provided but would return even if just for drinks and maby a maki roll that fits the price.

My fiancé and I got drinks and a sushi boat to split. Great amount of food and good drinks. The label things they can make gluten free, and the waitress was great about accommodating our food allergies. We also fell in love with the giant octopus chandelier. They also have a lovely outdoor deck and their own parking.

I got the sushi king and it was amazing. Best sushi I have ever had. Bloody Mary was delicious. Service was excellent. Will be coming back again for sure. I also recommend using the check in for the free app.

During a recent mini vaca to Rockport, we decided to have dinner here the last night we were in town. I had been several times previously and generally like to experience places a couple of times before leaving a review.
We grabbed a drink at the bar while waiting for a table. They told us 20 – 25 minutes but it was more like 10. I can probably say I’d drink the PYT every day if I could. So good!
We sat outside and got a small view of the sun setting and the harbor. The tables were a little strange for the atmosphere of dining they want to create. More like patio furniture.
We had the shrimp cocktail to start, which was really quite good. My friend had the boiled lobster and I had the steak frittes. I wasn’t completely blown away by my steak frittes. It came as a whole rib eye on top of a bed of french fries. I had to wait quite a while after getting my food to ask for a steak knife, and even after it was hard to cut the steak with french fries under it. The plating wasn’t the best. My steak was quite fatty, and I’m generally used to steak frittes being pre-​cut chunks. Aside from all that, it was good.
I’ve had the sushi here previously, as well as a salad and both were better than my steak. But the waitstaff was friendly, the drinks were good, and I liked the atmosphere.

First time here and everything was great ! Server was a little slow but it’s okay. I got the clam chowder which was amazing, it has bacon in it ! We used the free app from Unilocal

They say great service can save a bad meal, but a great meal can’t save bad service. I sat at the bar and had a beer and clam chowder. Chowder was very good, beer was cold. However, at 1pm on a Sunday, I would expect a little bit better service than watching the bartender give 99% of his attention to his girlfriend at the bar than the other 6 patrons at the bar. I hear the place is good, and I love the grateful dead design inside, but boy, that bartender seemed to have his mind else where! I only stayed for one.

It is a very nice restaurant with beautiful view. Strongly suggest to have a rest and enjoy the casual walk at beach.

It’s highly possible that I happened to hit Latitude 43 on a good day, but I had great food in a great atmosphere with great service. A friend and I decided to get out of Boston for the day and head up the coast. We started in cute little Rockport, but were in the mood for sushi so decided to hit Latitude 43 on the way back. I’m so glad we did!
First of all, the day was gorgeous so we sat outside and watched the boats coming and going. We grabbed a bottle of wine and started with some spicy edamame and stuffed clams. Both were delicious and blended perfectly with each other and the wine.
I ordered a dragon roll and my friend ordered a spicy tuna roll. Both were awesome! Sometimes with sushi, things can taste a little off, or the rice isn’t sticky enough or just something doesn’t seem right. Not this time, everything tasted delicious and we walked away happy and full.
Gloucester isn’t exactly known for it’s fine dining but I would recommend Latitude 43 to anyone in the north shore who may be in the mood for something a little different.

Went on Thursday with some girlfriend ‘s. Lovely waitress, good food and great blood orange martinis! !

Food was good. Had to send the Truffle Fries back as first batch was not right… but second plate was fine.

Came here with Family after Lacrosse game. Got seated right away since niece made reservation. Service was great. We got a free appetizer when I checked in with Unilocal.At least I hope we did. I forgot to check the Bill coz we where having a good time. We ordered 2 Sushi Boats and they were good. The others ordered fish and chicken dinners they polished their plates. I would say I will definitely come back here when in town.

Kinda disappointed I had heard such great things about this place… first let me start by saying the service was great, not formal dining but attentive and friendly service. The clam chowder was lacking and small cup portion for the price, the calamari had a nice batter but wasn’t wowing anyone, especially someone who orders calamari regularly. I got the scallops which were good not wow and a small portion for the hefty price tag, my guy got the sushi plate which he said was probably a C in the realm of sushi… we have a weekly sushi place in Chelmsford that is much fresher and again not as expensive. Glad we tried Lat 43 but there are certainly better places to spend $ 118 for dinner.

I CALLED AHEAD to make sure that I could eat outside with my dog outside the seating area. 2 minutes later we got there and with over 20 tables EMPTY outside, we were told there is a 25 minute WAIT. THERE WERE NO customers to be seen AND empty tables.
I have been so disgusted with this restaurant group. I have no idea how you all stay in business.
I will NEVER return to this establishment.

Amazing service. Food is delicious. Can’t wait to go back. Is a great atmosphere. Prices are reasonable.

Great day for lunch on the deck. Not getting many more days like this. Olivia our server got us drinks. I got some oysters that were great. Next I got the Nigiri plate and the dragon roll for desert! Add a couple beers and good company. It was an awesome visit.

Had a very pleasant dinner here alfresco.
The service was very warm and friendly.
I had the Haddock, mashed potatoes and asparagus in beurre blanc. A local friend told me to ask for the card which you can register for weekend deals that all the restaurant group related restaurants. Also happen to check in on Unilocal and there was a deal – score!
I want to add a special note which is I accidentally left my straw sun hat there – I called and offered to pay for them to ship it since I don’t live near the restaurant– and they said they would do it on the house! I was very impressed and grateful for the care taking:)

This place was average.
The location is good, right on the water. It’s spacious inside and a good variety on the menu. My experience was average. Starting with the drinks, we ordered 3 flavored Martinis and they all basically tasted like straight vodka. Way too strong.
Moving on to the appetizers, my clam chowder wasn’t bad. I’d give it a B-​. We also ordered the burrata which wasn’t burrata. It was basically a ball of mozzarella cheese — very heavy. Not appealing to have a thick ball of heavy cheese before your meal.
For my entrée, I had the local haddock which tasted good and was nicely breaded and cooked.
The overall experience was average.

3 stars overall — minus 2 for just okay food and drinks. View by the water was charming and our waitress was very pleasant.
The best part of our meal was the garden roll. It was massive and difficult to eat in one bite, but besides that it was really tasty.
The lobster roll was also good but was lacking in amount of actual lobster. For the amount of lobster included it was very overpriced. It was mostly bread. The entrée comes with 2 rolls, but they’d probably be better off putting all of the meat into one roll. Even then it still wouldn’t fill up the roll, though.
Also got the fish and chips. Fish tasted fresh but it was kind of hard to eat in the basket without it falling apart everywhere and it was a small portion.
Coleslaw was bland, but fries were crispy and good.
