Good coffee, great baked goods. Happy friendly staff. Nice local space to sit down and have a coffee

I love this place, and am a regular customer. I would have given 5 stars, but, today, shockingly, the owner really did not behave appropriately toward me and my family. My brother and mom and I felt«scolded» by her out in front of all the other customers which definitely was not cool. And none of it was anything that we did wrong. We ordered three slices of quiche, my usual veggie(they know me! this is all I ever get!), and one sausage and something or other for my brother, and the other for my mom, which was labeled«asparagus and cheddar». When I saw what mom was getting, I thought«Cool, another veggie option!» and switched my veggie quiche order to asparagus one. We went to our table, then the owner nicely came out and said to me that the asparagus one wasn’t veggie, it had salmon in it, and did I want to change order and I said yes, I(only me I meant) will have the veggie quiche then. Whether she said«you» to just me or all of us was unclear. Then a server brought out three veggie quiches, and I said no, it was just me who made the switch. That’s when the owner came out and scolded me in front of other diners, saying we had caused her to «waste food» Huh? If she had labeled the quiche properly: «asparagus and cheddar ANDSALMON» none of the mix-up would’ve occurred. My brother who was in the rest. biz forever said you never, ever scold the customer in front of other customers, no matter who did what. I will still continue to go there, love it, I’m a regular customer(another reason why I was surprised by this treatment by the owner) but I wouldn’t mind getting an apology.

Stopped in on a Sunday morning, not that busy. Inside nice local coffee place. My wife has been there a lot and really likes their coffee(she likes a good dark roast). We also had the following: –Brownie: fudgey, really nice, good size –Blueberry scone: okay, pretty soft/cake-like(I like my scones classic — dry) –Bacon, egg, cheese on English muffin: solid, pretty good. Staff: nice and friendly Prices great compared to most

A long-time fan of this efficient and consistently great coffee shop. What I did not know was of their catering expertise. I attended a party where they catered a vegetarian/vegan luncheon. Beautifully presented and delicious!

The best oatmeal. cookies on the Cape. Always friendly service especially at the drive up window. One would never expect from it’s humble exterior what pleasures lurk within.

great local place it took them forever to make me a latte but overall everything was good. the blueberry muffin was delicious and the breakfast sandwich was ok. quiche and cinnamon rolls are delish. service was a little weird. you have one person who is friendly and helpful and someone else who is oblivious. all in all, a thumbs up. they do allow dogs in the outside area :)

I love this place! I was visiting town from Seattle for a week and after going 6 days without a coffee I finally stumbled across this place. Fantastic espresso and yummy food at ridiculously reasonable prices! Yay!

Ham, egg, and cheese and a medium iced coffee. Done and done. The coffee is fresh and light. The service is always with a smile, and relaxed. The breakfast sandwiches are out of this world! It’s thin thin sliced ham, but stacked nice and thick to really fill you up. It’s definitely a pit stop when I’m in town.

Love Cape Ann Coffee! I order the hot chicken wrap every time and it is sooo good. Oatmeal raisin cookie for dessert — perfection. My husband gets double shots of espresso quite regularly and he can be very picky. I also love the vibe in the shop, it’s locals and visitors and the staff is really friendly. I send people there all the time. It’s also right near the beach for picnic lunches at Good Harbor. Can’t be beat!

I go here quite often for coffee or a sandwich. Excellent for a small town coffee shop. I’m not sure what the bad review is about the drive through person using a headset. They definitely do not have that sort of setup. Perhaps the person reviewed the wrong coffee shop?

Visited Gloucester for two weeks, and stopped in to Cape Ann Coffees almost every day. What makes a local business a community ‘hub’? I don’t know, but Gloucester does. I noticed families and all generations made this place home, as we did. Somehow there was always room for us, though it was usually busy. The crew was super.(Note to Jordy, might try giving them another chance man, you’re missing out.) I loved the salads and breakfast sandwiches. We never did the drive-through but I would if I lived there, for sure. The tables were comfortable and beautiful, the food was delicious, & the coffee was too. They bake the goodies themselves, including the amazing Danish birthday cake. We came back for bagged coffee for gifts for family here in Hawaii.(I know, coals to Newcastle, but it is that good.) The owners Rick and Dorthe made us right at home. I wish they would open a branch in Honolulu. Aloha Cape Ann Coffees, see you next year!

Note to owner– hire staff motivated to help the customers– I was in their today at 415pm and wanted a simple double shot of espresso and since the staff had already broke down the machine the woman behind the counter gave me a look that could kill. Not sure I’ll come back and I drive by a # of times per week year round.

I have Cape Ann Coffees on my speed dial and they recognize my number when it comes up on caller ID. In fact, I know when the seasonal help is hired because they don’t know my order. The owners are friendly and go out of their way to get to know their regulars. The food is fresh and made to order. None of the Dunkies or McD’s breakfasts here. The muffins are«To Die For» and I love their quiches. While they offer plenty of flavored coffees, I stick with their regular blend — it’s just right. If you’re looking for a quick, delish breakfast, Cape Ann Coffees is your stop. If you’re looking for a quick stop on your way to Good Harbor Beach, check out CAC for their sandwiches and wraps. Plus, they’ve got fresh-cut watermelon cups and super yummy desserts. And some real, friendly, local service.

Cape Ann Coffees is still my «go to» place for the very best lunch sandwich/wrap/dessert/coffee on Cape Ann. The owners and staff are very friendly and care about happy customers and good food. Be sure to look at their special sandwich list on the counter. The very best wrap sandwiches you could ever want are listed there. And since you’ve been good, be sure to add one of those crispy oatmeal/raisin cookies to your order for dessert(or as an appetizer as you drive away with your carry-out sandwich). Great coffee. Period.(If Dunkin Donuts is your coffee preference, you won’t understand)

They had a nice variety to choose from and the iced vanilla latte I got was pretty good. Always nice to know of a solid coffee shop other than DD in different locations since I end up traveling around MA a lot.

Just a quick update… I’ve found myself at Cape Ann Coffees three times in the last week, and I’m appreciating them more than ever. Depending on when you go, there isn’t much of a line(even in the morning crunch when other places are packed) and the staff is very friendly and quick with your order. I am now addicted to the iced vanilla chai latte. So good! The price is reasonable too. I definitely want to urge every coffee lover that comes through Gloucester to give Cape Ann Coffees a chance. So much to choose from, and so many goodies for sale. Yum!
