I had a pedicure done by lisa, it was great. A free backrub after, perfect.

I had a very disappointing experience here. I stopped by spur of the moment so I had no time to research better options. My pedicure was basically okay except around my big toe, where my cuticles and skin weren’t cleaned up well. Same complaint all over my manicure. Even after drawing her attention to my messy hands, I still ended up leaving with ragged cuticles. This is a big pet peeve of mine. It’s actually the only thing I really care about in a manicure and I expect it should be done superbly for a couple of reasons. 1) I clip my own nails down to the quick and no filing is necessary either. 2) I don’t put polish on my fingernails, so my manicurist should have plenty of time freed up to put a little elbow grease into the cuticle cutting process. There’s no excuse for me to be picking and nibbling at my cuticles now, less than 3 hours later. I’ll likely pull out my own cuticle nipper and get to work later, but for now I’m upset that I wasted $ 35 plus a $ 6 tip which I think was a bit generous. While I appreciate the plastic wrapping of the toenails usually, in no way did I indicate that I was on my way out the door. I had just sat down at the drying station a few moments before and had only just flipped a single page in my magazine when she was back, wrapping me up and getting my shoes and socks on. Which brings me to another annoyance. Since I don’t have polish on my nails, I’m fully capable of putting on my own footwear. It makes me feel uncomfortable to receive this service when I clearly don’t need it. I tried to refuse it but was spurned and had to endure. In short, I was trying to chill out and treat myself, however the whole experience made me a little sad. I will not be back.

This was hands down(no pun intended) the worst nail salon that I’ve ever been to. First of all I went in for a mani/pedi and they have two ladies working on me at the same time. That was very unnerving and I felt like they were rushing. The lady that gave me my pedi was not friendly and really rough. I also had a blister on my pinkie toe from some shoes that I had worn the previous night. The lady proceeds to touch my blister and wanted to take a cuticle cutter to it… ouch! They barely put any nail polish on my nails. Lastly, they kicked me out of the nail salon because they wanted to go home early. The hours posted on the door said they were open until 7pm so why they rushed me out the door at 6:45 is beyond me. My nails were still wet and I was forced to walk back to my car with paper flip flops! I would recommend you looking elsewhere for a mani/pedi! AWFUL!

Spa Nail City is a nail salon chain with several different locations in Chicago and northern suburbs. I prefer the Peterson(Chicago) location but have been to this location a few times for a quick manicure. Manicures will run you $ 15 and polish changes $ 10. Mondays and Tuesdays you can get a mani/pedi for $ 35(vs the normal $ 45). The people are nice and for the convenience and cleanliness I will give this location a 3.5. The only problem is that my manicures from this salon tend to chip much sooner than from other salons(even the other salon location!)
