Lucy’s TLC Cafe

Grumpy woman who doesn’t smile and can’t even say thank you. Typically I tip at local businesses but not at this place. I thought the woman at the counter only worked at the North Glenview station but it turns out she was at Glenview’s downtown staton as well. I got the same treatment as I received last time. Grumpy, all she said was the price, didn’t smile, didn’t say thank you. Treated both the guy in front of me and myself the same. Thank goodness for this business that they have a captive audience or there would be no business.
Here’s my advice:
1. You only work with customers in the morning. Fake being happy for that time.
2. If you can’t do that, go find something that makes you happier.
With the new coffee shop opening up at the downtown station you’ll have to pickup your game.

As an avid tea drinker, I must say that Lucy’s has a great selection! I stop here just about every weekday when I arrive at the Glen of North Glenview stop.
Lucy, her son, and Pam all work here at different times but the service is always consistent and friendly. I have yet to see any of them without a smile. And Their recommendations of new teas to try ate always welcomed.
I’ve heard that the coffee is delicious as well but I wouldn’t know personally as I’m not a coffee drinker. Please give them a try! You will not be disappointed

I really never write Unilocal reviews, but I seriously had too this time. Lucy, your coffee is fantastic. Thanks to your coffee ice cubes my iced coffee was rich, complex and delicious right down to the last drop, and the cinnamon scone was yummy too (so soft!). Also, you are a doll and a pleasure to speak with. Keep it up, I love your café!

Lucy at Tlc café inside the North Glenview Metra train Station is absolutely the best. Every morning I take this train and she is extremely friendly. She makes the best coffee and lets you try her various delicious teas. This place is a must try.

There aren’t many places like Lucy’s TLC Café. Sure, there are plenty of Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts or Caribou coffee shops but these places can’t compete with the variety of coffee and teas Lucy carries. Coffee and tea are her passions and it’s evident when you talk to her. What really makes this place stand out is the personal touch Lucy brings to the shop. Her vivacious personality and cheery demeanor makes this place somewhere you always want to come back and visit. The products are high quality and reasonably priced. Even better is the fact that you can grab your coffee and a spot on the train all at once. I highly recommend it if you’re at the Glenview train station sometime.

Lucy’s TLC café is a bit of a hole in the wall café that is located inside the North Glenview metra train station. There aren’t any signs on the outside to indicate that there’s anything going on inside, but trust me, there is! The café’s owner, Lucy, is always cheery when you stop by, and the coffee is absolutely fantastic, especially for the price that you pay. She also has nearly 30 different types of loose leaf teas which means they can be readily mixed and matched whenever you want. The train station is really clean and a nice place to relax, save for the train rushing by and the bustling commuters in the morning. However, I think it really adds to the overall atmosphere of the café. All in all, this is definitely one of the better quality independently owned coffee shops I’ve been to, and I always recommend it all my friends or new people I meet!
