Total Wine & More

I’m visiting from San Francisco, CA and used Unilocal to help find craft beer in the Glendale area. I was not disappointed! Their selection is pretty big. They also have beer on tap.

Went in to get some wine today. I’ve been in there many times. Of course they did an ID check on me because I’m 21 almost 22. The manager came by and asked me how old I was despite it saying on my ID and I said in a friendly manner «I’m as old as you want me to be» just in a joking friendly manner, not even being flirtatious. She replied «THATS NOT THE ANSWER TRY AGAIN.» In a very rude tone. I’ve been in there many times before and they keep making me have to wait for an «ID check» which she should know me by Now. It’s embarrassing considering I’m an adult and get treated like a child with a long line of people behind me. Overall their selection and prices are amazing but their customer service (the manager) aren’t very friendly if you’re under 30 apparently. Won’t come back anymore considering their dumb policy of interrogating you even though you show a valid proof of ID and them treating you like a criminal.

The bitch at the register would not accept my California ID which I renewed before I turned 21, so it is vertical. She said it was not a valid form of identification because it is vertical when it clearly states I am 21 in 2012! I was forced to provide a different form of identification because my DMV issued license was not to their liking.
The kicker was that I was not even buying alcohol, just mix! So, I didn’t even need to be 21 for my purchase!
Fuck you, and I’m never shopping at your stores again.

Total wine has total shitty customer service. We arrived well before 5 to do the wine tasting as we always select our wines after a tasting. We asked the employee leaning on the wine bar what they were sampling and he like «we’re closed” — my husband said its not 5 yet and the employee grunted. Of all 10 employees working in the store no one could reasonably answer why they state they have wine tasting with specific times and it’s actually only open when they chose. I wish we hadn’t purchased the case of beer from this store. What a disappointing trip. Customer service is complete crap.

This is an awesome store, very clean and organized. Every time I’ve went there, the staff are so helpful and knowledgable. Especially to highlight Brittany. She helped us pick the champagne to get for our wedding and found quality, yet affordable bottles for us to buy. Really pleased with their customer service and awesome selection.

I like this location because it’s close to where we live and it’s convenient. They have always had what we’ve been looking for whether it’s alcohol, glasses or kegs. The store stays stocked with all of our favorite drinks.

i had the private room booked for a class — I called to confirm a few days before. they were on it and were polite and friendly. I arrived the day of my booking and was greeted warmly, walked to the room and they even cleaned all the tables fresh for my class and attendees — as in made sure there was no dust and they were shiny! Loved my experience !

This place is better than Disneyland…
This place is like the Candy land for adults that you’ve dreamed about… but is actually real!!!
Total Wine & More has a great selection on EVERYTHING. Seriously! EVERYTHING!!! I went in and walked around for and hour and half. I couldn’t believe it when I walked out.
Their prices are very competitive with a lot of places and the customer service was excellent. I use to go to BevMo for my beers but now why go there when I have this place.
I’ll definitely be back! Especially with my growler!

Does not accept military ID as proof of age. This does not make sense to me. Total wine fix your policies

Was in town for Super Bowl XLIX and I wanted to pick up some beers I can’t get in Washington state. Went in the store, walked passed cashiers, and I wasn’t greeted (like I was a ghost or something). Then I went straight to the beer isle. I had a hard time looking for a specific beer because there’s a lot of beer inventory there and there were completely no employees around to help me. I asked an asian looking guy if he worked there, he said no, but he said the beers are in alphabetical order and he directed me to an isle. Funny thing is, he was holding a clip board, in uniform, doing inventory, so I think he did work there.
A good twenty minutes later, I found my beer. Walked to the cash register to a cashier on her cell phone, not even acknowledging me. So, I paid for my three cases of beer and she didn’t even offer me a bag or a box and she was still on her cell phone. So, I asked for a box, then I boxed my sh*t and walked out of that b*tch ass place.
Oh. And they accused my friends I was with of stealing.
I just created this Unilocal account just to write this review because I’ve never experienced awful customer service in my life.

Poor ego maniacs that need to have their b**s kissed the is the best liquor and wine store around, bar none. Have they thought maybe that’s why the prices can be so low!

tried this location vs my usual and i’m glad. it is a little closer to my work and they have exactly what i need. kilt lifter. i get my 2 12 packs to take home with me to texas. i wish they would sell kl in TX!!!

Love this store! This was my first visit. Extensive selection — though of course they didn’t have what I was looking for. Young man helped me and was eager to look up my selections to see if they could get what they weren’t carrying. No luck but still a great store.
I wish they were nationwide.

Great options like any Total Wine! Cashier was atrocious, talked like she was annoyed to be helping me and was complaining about her position to another employee. Very unprofessional. I normally take it with a grain of salt but this was enough for me to write a review.

Know one knows anything in this place. Took them for ever to find me a beer I was looking for and got a «I don’t think we have it» only to find it by the door on my way out.

There’s NO WHERE else to go for the discerning or casual drinker — the prices are superb, the selection is unbeatable and the staff is as friendly and helpful as they are knowledgeable. Even during the busiest times, checking out is quick and seamless and if you’re searching for a wine to go with tonight’s dinner or to celebrate a special occasion, there’s either staff there to recommend a selection (based on quality, not on price) or who will call the local expert to help you out. The growler station is a great addition and there’s an opportunity to taste if you’re not sure.
I cant think of a single negative, thus, the five stars!

This is where I come for any of my liquor needs. If I’m cooking a special dinner and need to pair it with that perfect hard to find wine I go here. When my coworker was home sick for their home town I recommended this as the place to find that beer they wouldn’t find anywhere else in phoenix. Whenever I’m throwing a party for any theme, I’m guaranteed to find anything and everything I need here.
They have gins, wines, champagne, beers, anything from all over the world, something for anyones taste no matter how picky you are. They have something for any budget too from cheap to expensive it’s all here. The workers are pretty knowledgable and whenever I’ve been there and given someone the vaguest of information to help me find a wine I tasted out at a restaurant, they seem to know exactly what I’m talking about and help me track it down. Every aisle is labeled so it makes it extremely easy to find things on your own too.
The only down side is, if you buy plain soda they card you anyway. I’m guessing that’s a company thing but I thought it was awkward they wanted my cousin’s and my ID when we purchased lavender soda pop. No booze at all involved and had to whip out our ID proving we were both over 21. And their bathrooms are kind of gross but in all the years I’ve been shopping there I’ve only ever used it twice. But still it looks nasty and even if it was scrubbed clean it would still look gross. I think it could use a makeover but that would never stop me from shopping there. Homeless people could live in the bathrooms and I’d still shop here, you’re not going to get better.

We were Bev-​Mo fans for a long time, but one trip to Total Wine cured us of that. In the end, Total Wine just has better prices. On almost.everything. They have a great selection and lots of variety. I always walk out with something interesting and I’m super picky and mostly drink hard ciders. The individual bottles of beer are a great way to try something unusual without committing to a whole 6 pack. The tastings on weekends are great– we’ve bought several well-​priced bottles of wine after tasting them, and you get a coupon for a small discount if you buy a wine from their tasting. We’ve never taken any of the classes so I can’t speak to those.
This place is relatively easy to find as it is tucked in behind Arrowhead Mall. Customer service has always been helpful and available, and they are pretty consistent about carding people at checkout.

They have an awesome selection of craft beer and local wine here. It’s becoming harder and harder to return though. I’m treated like a criminal every time I come here.
The last time I went, I wasn’t greeted at all. I walked past 3 employees and none of them even acknowledged me. Which surprised me because they didn’t seem very busy. Then I continued on to the beer section where I walked past another employee that didn’t ask if I needed help. As I’m trying to decide what to buy, one of the employees started to follow me and act like he was looking for something. He continued to do this until I made my selection.
When I go to buy, and they do this every time I’m here, they won’t even touch what you put on the conveyor belt until you produce your ID and they give you a once over JUST to be sure it’s really yours. I’ve even had some of the cashier brats grille me and ask me how old I am while they’re holding my ID.
Great selection, non-​existent customer service, but if you appear to be under the age of dirt, be prepared to be treated like you’re about to do a beer run.

I have to go a bit further out of my way to reach this Total Wine, but it’s worth it every time.
Bevmo says «Oh this summer beer isn’t in season yet.» Total Wine says «Of course, we even have it in the fridge.»
Bevmo makes you carry a stupid rewards card that gives you 5% off a purchase after spending $ 250. Total Wine doesn’t believe in stupid crap like that, their prices are good up front.
I really end up getting lost in the beer aisle, not knowing what to do. Saying I look like a kid in a candy store is an understatement, I’m like a kid who has discovered some cross between Disneyworld and Neverland. All my beverage snob dreams (er…my liver’s worst nightmares) come true in Total Wine. Would recommend for liquor, too. If you can’t find it here, what you’re looking for probably sucks.
